Chapter 339 - Chapter 339: The Divination Crystal of the Void Eye

The death of Sirius Black was destined.

If he had not fallen today in the Department of Mysteries, then Regulus Black would never again allow him to face danger in the future.

But the truth is, the deaths of those explicitly named in the original work are almost always unavoidable.

Sirius Black died, only in a different manner than in the original story.

In the original, he was killed directly by his cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, with the Killing Curse before the archway. His body fell into the arch, and whatever world existed beyond it, he was already dead before passing through.

Crossing into another world, living in another world—such things were impossible.

This time, Sirius Black was pushed into the arch by the godson he loved most. It was Harry Potter's body, but Voldemort's consciousness. To those who could only see the surface, however, he was still Harry Potter.

Likewise, Regulus Black would never truly be Regulus. The outward form represented the person, not the soul.

Unless the soul could endure forever and reshape the body to fit itself, that belonged to the domain of gods.

The Department of Mysteries was next door. Regulus Black darted over, severed Peter Pettigrew's arm, and controlled his body, then cast a combined spell of Severing Charm and Shattering Curse.

Earlier, when he had roused the young lions in the Hall of Prophecy, it had only been the effect of "Whispers of Confusion." His golden finger was far more convenient than spells, and he often used it without realizing.

Now, in the Hall of Prophecy, hardly any crystal balls remained intact. Amid the billowing smoke, the prophecies of seers from every era spilled into the air, filling it with a strange energy.

Regulus Black took out a crystal ball he had prepared beforehand, wrapped in metal and shaped into the likeness of the League of Legends champion Vel'Koz, the Eye of the Void.

All the crystal shards were sucked into the figure's eye, devouring endlessly, consuming every prophecy sphere and plume of smoke. Then the figurine of the Void Eye Vel'Koz began to stir with life, floating into the air with three writhing tentacles.

A hazy voice echoed from within the Void Eye, like the character's mutterings in the game.

But Regulus Black could adjust its speech, turning its common phrases into its mission.

I enter another world. Flicker, flicker, flicker. I adjust my eyes, assessing the landscape before me.

Something lies ahead. I look down and see a humanoid creature that has caught my attention.

Did you summon me? Mammal, undead, nocturnal habits, impeccable magical strength. Only its reproduction has been restricted. Yet it is so powerful. Incredible. This being fascinates me.

I must gather all available information—harvest more valuable resources.

Here? A ruin, with outer towers still intact. My analysis suggests this was once a powerful magical realm. With such destructive force, I am not surprised.

Not far away are other creatures, also with considerable magical power.

Shards litter the ground. I pick one up—it is crystal stone, perfect for my nature. Absorb! These crystals record knowledge beyond time and space, tools to warp causality. Extraordinary, unprecedented, enthralling. The information within these crystals astonishes me.

My hunger deepens. Insatiable, endless, unlike anything before. I have glimpsed ultimate knowledge.

As the Void Eye muttered, Regulus Black imbued it with the attributes of an amulet.

The Hall of Prophecy was stripped bare of its crystal spheres, all transformed into this powerful amulet.

Regulus Black stored away the Void Eye Divination Crystal Ball. He then left the Ministry of Magic. Next, it would be Dumbledore's turn to enter the stage. Between Dumbledore and Voldemort, there was no room for him to intervene.

Regulus Black swiftly withdrew. Meanwhile, in the Department of Mysteries, Harry Potter broke free from Lupin's embrace and ran out alone. By now, Harry was completely deranged. He no longer knew who he truly was.

"Should I call you Harry Potter, or should I call you Voldemort?"

The flames of the fireplace flared, and Dumbledore appeared in the Ministry's atrium, immediately spotting the abnormal Harry Potter.

It was still the same boy, yet the aura around him was unbearably chaotic. At times he seemed to radiate Harry's innocence, while at others he exuded Voldemort's darkness and fury.

"I am no one, and I can be anyone. Who do you want me to be, Headmaster?"

Harry turned, eyes vicious and cruel, a bloodthirsty aura pressing forward as if he meant to devour someone.

"I cannot let you leave like this. Your current state is far too unstable."

Dumbledore drew the Elder Wand. If Voldemort had been in his right mind, he would have immediately recognized it.

But this Harry Potter was a monster, forged of two souls and two consciousnesses.

Yes, a monster. It had taken shape inside Harry's body, and soon it might replace both Harry Potter and Voldemort, becoming a new lifeform, the new master of this fused body.

That was how Dumbledore saw it. Later, Regulus Black would see it the same way.

For now, however, Dumbledore had to face the monster's attack head-on.

At their level, magic no longer required incantations. Pure energy alone was enough.

A crimson blast of energy and a white one collided like two giant serpents, twisting and rolling through the atrium, demolishing much of the surrounding structure.

The monster had fully inherited Voldemort's strength, though Harry's nature still influenced its temperament.

When the clash of light-serpents ended, fire and water took the stage. The monster fused both serpents into a massive fire serpent, but Dumbledore instantly drew upon the fountain's waters, shaping them into a prison that engulfed both the serpent and the monster.

The creature burned itself severely, yet broke free of the water prison, unleashing a roar that shattered nearby glass. With a flick of its wand, countless shards rained down upon Dumbledore.

But the water prison shielded him once again, until the shards were ground to sand.

"I must admit, this body is truly useful. Too bad my time is short. Otherwise, I would certainly defeat you. So while I am gone, destroy this body!"

The monster's existence seemed limited. After speaking, it collapsed to the floor.

Dumbledore approached cautiously, sweeping away the glass sand with a charm. He gently rolled Harry's body over, brushing off the shards on him.

"Harry Potter? How do you feel?"

"Headmaster Dumbledore! What happened to me? I killed my godfather with my own hands. Why would I do that?"

Harry's memory seemed stuck on the moment of Sirius's death. Now he wept bitterly, tormented by the guilt of what he had done.

"It's all right, Potter. It's all right. Everything will be fine. For now, just rest. Once we return to Hogwarts, you will be better."
