Chapter 2 - OUR LITTLE STAR

Initially, there was only a huge, silent emptiness—no light, no sound. He seemed to have been forgotten by the universe as he floated weightlessly in that emptiness. Then, like a breeze rippling still water, a faint whisper broke through. He emerged from the shadows as the whisper transformed into reassuring, warm words. His heavy eyelids flitted open.

He opened them. Golden light blurred his vision, slowly forming into shapes and faces. Strangers stand around him, their eyes warm, both strange and familiar. His mind grasped for memories—bits of a lost life, a broken family, deep sadness. But now, in this tiny new body, he was whole again, born into a world he didn't know.

"Look at those eyes," a woman's voice said, soft and loving. "So bright, like your grandfather's."

Lady Selena Darven, his mother, bend over the baby's bed , her dark hair like a soft curtain, her smile full of love. Beside her, a deep voice spoke, strong and proud.

"A true Darven, born to shine."

Lord Velrik Darven, tall and serious, softened as he looked down, his face warm with rare kindness.

A high-pitched giggle cut through.

"He's so tiny!"

Six-year-old Miya Darven peeked over the baby's bed , her greenish-brown colour eyes sparkling with naughtiness. Five-year-old Selfi hold a rag doll.

"He's adorable!"

She scream,Moving back and forth on her feet.Seven-year-old Steven, the heir to House Darven, stood back, his young face serious, studying his new brother.

The room became clearer—a large chamber of smooth gray stone, lit by dancing torches. Colorful Wall art hung on the walls, showing dragons and warriors, glowing softly. The air smelled so nice and clean. Selena's voice, gentle but solid, stopped the children's chatter.

"Elriya, his cloth, please."

"Of course, my lady."

Elriya, a young elf with silver hair and bright eyes, stepped forward, her pointed ears and beautiful face marking her as different. She moved smoothly, carrying soft cloth with the Darven crest—a silver star with thorns. She glanced at the baby, her face showing duty.

He wasn't crying. The silence worried them. Selena's smile faded, her fingers brushing his cheek.

"Velrik, why isn't he crying?"

Her voice shook. Velrik's big hand rested on her shoulder, calming her.

"He's strong, Selena. Just give him a moment."

Miya bend her head, wondering.

"Is he okay, Mama?"

Selfi hugged her doll tighter, whispering,

"He's so quiet."

Steven's forehead wrinkled.

"Is something wrong with him?"

Inside his tiny body, his mind raced. Flashes of another life—sadness, loss, a broken family—mixed with this warm moment. Where am I? he thought, his small heart pounding. These people… are they mine? I lost my family once, but now… It hit him like a spark. This is my second chance. I'll protect them. I swear it.

Joy rush through him, strong and bright. Tears filled his eyes, and a loud cry burst out, Repeating in the room. The worry vanished. Selena laughed through tears, lifting him into her arms.

"There's my brave boy."

Her voice shook with relief. Velrik smile wide.

"That's the fire of a Darven."

His voice was warm with pride. Miya clapped, bouncing.

"He's loud, Mama!"

Selfi laughing, waving her doll.

"He likes us, see?"

Steven's serious face softened, a small smile forming.

"He'll be strong."

He said quietly. Elriya, wrapping the soft cloth around him, smiled gently, her elven eyes warm.

Selena held him close, her warmth like a shield.

"Kelvin Stark Darven."

Her voice was full of love and strength.

"Our little star."

The family gathered closer, their presence strong—Selena's gentle eyes, Velrik's steady strength, Steven's quiet duty, Miya's endless energy, Selfi's happy giggles, and Elriya's calm care. Kelvin's cries softened, His eyes, not seeing clearly, moved between them, tiny fingers reaching for their warmth. This was his new start, in a strange world. He didn't know how or why, but one thing burned in him: he would protect this family with all he had.

The room felt alive, as if the old stone walls knew this moment mattered. Outside, the wind is laughing, hinting at a wild world beyond. Kelvin's baby eyes couldn't see it clearly, but his soul felt a pull—a destiny tied to this family, this house, this new land.

Miya pulls Selena's sleeve, whispering loudly.

"Mama, can I hold him? I'll be so careful!"

Selena smiled, soft and kind.

"Not yet, Miya. He's still too small."

Miya let out an annoyed breath, crossing her arms, but her eyes stayed on Kelvin, full of wonder. Selfi bend closer, Her curly hair touched the cradle.

"I'll sing him a song!"

She started an unstable tune about stars and rabbits. Velrik chuckled, a rare sound, while Steven sighed.

"She sings to everything."

He whispered, but his voice held fondness.

Elyria bow beside Selena, wrapping Kelvin in the crest-decorate cloth.

"He'll grow into his name, my lady."

Her voice was soft like a lullaby. Selena nodded, her gaze steady.

"He already has."

Kelvin's mind held shadows of his past life—blink of tears, a broken voice, deep loss. He didn't know how he got here, in this body, with this family, but the pain of that old life stayed. Yet Selena's arms, Velrik's proud look, his siblings' chatter—it was a chance to fix what was broken.

He made a soft, gentle sound, his tiny hand touching Selena's finger. She gasped, her smile growing.

"Velrik, look! He's already trying to touch me"

Velrik leaned closer, his deep voice warm.

"He knows his mother's strength. And he'll learn his duty in time."

Steven stepped forward, his young face serious but curious.

"Will he train with me someday?"

His voice was steady, looking to the future. Velrik's hand rested on Steven's shoulder.

"If he's a Darven, he'll fight for what's ours. Just as you will."

The words felt heavy, hinting at the world outside this warm room. House Darven was special—Kelvin sensed it in Velrik's strength, Selena's pride, Steven's purpose. Challenges waited, battles unspoken, a legacy to carry. Though his body was small, his mind was sharp, swearing to stand with them, to protect them.

For now, he was just a baby, held in his mother's arms, surrounded by love and laughter. The emptiness was gone, replaced by light, sound, and his tiny heart's strong beat. Kelvin Stark Darven, the little star of House Darven, closed his eyes, feeling his family's warmth. This was his start. And he would make it count.
