The superior being continued calmly.
"She later used that DNA to help a friend of hers. I do not know who that friend was. But I do know this, after that DNA was used… a child was born."
He paused.
"A child whose existence I did not even know."
With that, he looked directly at Silas.
"You should have already guessed," he said. "Who that child was."
Silas's heart skipped, dread creeping into his chest. 'No… it cannot be that simple.'
The superior being continued without pause.
"When I learned that I had a son, I was furious. It would have been one thing to knowingly have a child with Helena. But an unknown offspring carrying my DNA without my consent… that was unacceptable."
His eyes darkened.
"So I made a decision. I planned to kill that child."
The words fell cold and merciless.
