I woke up for the second time from a nightmare, except this time when I looked out of the window, daylight reflected back through the curtains. Sitting up, I pressed my back against the bed frame, bringing my knees up to my chest.
While having nightmares was a constant thing for me, this past week had given me a false sense of security when the nightmares suddenly stopped. Only to start again last night, I was woken up twice, terrified of drowning.
I didn't attempt to go back to sleep the second time, I was too afraid to close my eyes. It was the crack of dawn, meaning the household will soon be awake. Shaking the self pity off, I climbed down the bed and towards my dresser, my thoughts filled with how I was going to conquer the day in Xander's absence.
