Because of the mysterious evil spirit incident, the entire Capital City was in a state of panic. Jacob could not go to the Dragon Secret Realm for special training for the time being, and he did not dare to venture into Capital City to hunt for treasures. He could only stay at the Scott family's residence, which made Jacob feel suffocated.

He was forced to devote most of his energy to training his three Pokémon, and the rest of his time was spent writing a paper dedicated to Z-Crystals.

Writing a paper is a very troublesome task, requiring factual support to verify one's conjectures. The exclusive Z-Moves require a Z-Power Ring, which gave Jacob a headache. There was no mention of how to upgrade in the anime or games, only that the four Guardian Deities of Alola helped Ash upgrade his Z-Ring to a Z-Power Ring. Jacob guessed that the key to upgrading the Z-Ring must be related to energy.

Whether this theory was correct or not would have to be verified in the laboratory. If not, researching the Z-Power Ring alone would take considerable time.

...

Two days later, Jacob looked out the window. It was still raining heavily outside. After two days of clear weather in Capital City, heavy rain had returned. The lightning and thunder created a depressing atmosphere.

Over the past two days, Jacob had received video calls from his parents, older brother, and Kyle. They had obviously heard about the evil spirit incident in Capital City from the news and were concerned about his safety.

Meanwhile, people in Capital City had been in a panic these past two days, especially in Willow District, where the incident occurred. There were even fewer pedestrians on the streets, making the area seem particularly deserted.

The Capital City police had invested significant manpower and resources, conducting multi-faceted investigations, retrieving surveillance footage, and more, but ultimately found nothing. They couldn't even determine if there was a trainer behind the mysterious Pokémon.

The only useful information was that the Pokémon was extremely powerful, at least at the quasi-king level, otherwise it wouldn't have been able to kill three people silently.

Trainers had been clearing out wild Pokémon in Capital City for a long time, and even elite wild Pokémon were rarely seen. The appearance of such a powerful Pokémon was definitely unusual.

Since the three people died that day, there had been no evil spirit killings in Capital City for two consecutive days. The mysterious Pokémon seemed to have disappeared, but everyone knew it was merely lying dormant, waiting for new prey.

This is what makes Ghost-type Pokémon difficult and frightening. When they truly want to hide and conceal their aura, they become nearly impossible to detect. Yet they inevitably appear and kill again, because some Pokémon become extremely dangerous once they've killed someone. They unconsciously begin to see humans as prey and hunt them continuously.

Jacob was quite curious about this mysterious Pokémon, but he also recognized his own limitations. With his three Pokémon's current strength, he was absolutely not qualified or capable of investigating this mysterious Pokémon.

If he wanted to participate in the hunt, Jacob estimated that his Pokémon would need at least Overlord-level strength just to barely ensure his survival. At the Quasi-King level, anything less than Overlord-level strength would be equivalent to delivering oneself as food.

This gave Jacob a sense of urgency. He had to improve his strength as much as possible. The feeling of being powerless and unable to control his destiny was terrible.

...

This routine continued for two days before the training camp issued another notice. However, compared to the previous time, the training camp had become fully closed, and four quasi-king-level trainers personally came to escort the students, ensuring their safety.

Additionally, no one would be allowed to leave the Dragon Secret Realm until the evil spirit in Capital City was found. Of course, participation in this training camp remained entirely voluntary.

Jacob would naturally participate. The rich dragon energy in the Dragon Secret Realm was extremely beneficial for his three Pokémon's growth, so he had no intention of staying home.

As for safety concerns, Jacob didn't worry. With such a major incident, Maximus would definitely oversee the Dragon Secret Realm around the clock. Combined with the king-level and quasi-king-level masters in the secret realm, it was much safer than staying at home.

After confirming his participation in the closed training camp, Jacob informed both Mr. Scott and Jude about it to prevent them from worrying.

After packing his belongings, two hours later, the doorbell rang. Nina, with a haggard face and wet hair, appeared at the door. Jacob was shocked. Was this still the glamorous Teacher Nina he knew?

After not seeing each other for two days, Nina looked obviously much more haggard, with prominent dark circles under her eyes. She had hardly slept in the past two days. Even though the matter had nothing to do with her directly, she felt very guilty about her student's murder. The student had died after leaving the secret realm and being handed over to a bodyguard. To be honest, it really had little to do with her.

Nevertheless, Nina had been searching for the student's murderer for the past two days, but to no avail. Capital City was enormous, and searching for a Ghost-type Pokémon was undoubtedly like looking for a needle in a haystack.

"Teacher Nina," Jacob said.

"Let's go." Pointing to the car parked outside the door in the rain, Nina motioned for Jacob to get in.

"Yeah." Jacob nodded and followed Nina to sit in the back seat of the car. The driver in the front seat glanced at the two of them and drove silently.

The distance from the Scott family residence to the Dragon Secret Realm was about an hour's drive, and with traffic jams, it could take two hours.

As soon as she got in the car, the exhausted Nina leaned her head against the window to rest. Two sleepless nights had left her extremely tired. Her eyelids drooped unconsciously, and she fell into a deep sleep without realizing it.

Jacob did not disturb Nina, instead looking out the window. Unfortunately, heavy rain was pouring down, blocking his view, just like the heavy rain from two days ago, complete with lightning and thunder.

The car drove smoothly on the street, heading toward the Dragon Secret Realm. After passing through the downtown area, the flow of people gradually became sparse, with only trees on both sides of the road flashing past the car window.

Nina slept soundly during the journey. Perhaps because the window made for an uncomfortable pillow, she slowly leaned her head on Jacob's shoulder in her sleep.

Jacob frowned and looked at Nina. He really wanted to wake her up. After all, physical contact between men and women was inappropriate. But seeing Nina's haggard expression, Jacob ultimately endured it.

But if you want to sleep, just sleep, why are you drooling? Jacob complained inwardly.

Suddenly, Jacob felt that time and space around him stagnated for a moment, though it seemed like his imagination.

However, at that instant, a bright red light flashed. Under the cover of night, Jacob only saw the red light penetrating the driver's window. The car was forced to stop instantly. The red light penetrated the driver's body in an instant, and the driver died without even having time to shout.

Blood gushed out, instantly splashing all over Jacob and Nina. At this moment, Jacob's soul was terrified, and he violently opened the car door, pulled Nina away, and jumped out, falling to the ground, his body soaked by the rain.

Nina was also awakened by the loud noise, but she reacted instantly. The two of them looked up and saw two Pokémon appearing before them.

It was obvious that Jacob and his companion had encountered that evil Pokémon, no, those two evil Pokémon!

No one had known. It was two Pokémon, not just one, that had been hunting humans. As for whether there were humans behind these two Pokémon, no one knew!
