Finally we were in the car but there was silence and a bit of awkwardness, Jeremy didn't want to say anything but trust me,I knew what was going through his mind—the thought that I was crazy danced around in Jeremy's mind, but i knew I wasn't, I was sure of what I saw
"What do i have to do for you to believe me," I said.
"Dude, you don't…can we just drop it ok?, you don't have to do anything," he said.
I didn't want to think about it anymore so I thought—if I could take bianca to prom and have a good night maybe i can forget about it.
Some minutes later after that thought flew pass my mind we arrived at stephany's house, it was a beautiful designed, upscale residence with a blend of modern and classic architectural elements. The exterior features a warm inviting facade with high-end finishes such as stucco or stone and a well-manicured lawn.
The house was nice, it was the first time I actually came to stephany's house.
Jeremy parked the car in front of the house, we came out of the car and walked up to the door and he rang the doorbell and a voice yelled out," am coming," hearing that voice i assumed it was stephany's, but to my greatest surprise it wasn't hers, it was bianca's.
"Hey guys, your early," bianca said with her beautiful smile.
"Yeah, where's stephany?," Jeremy asked.
"She's upstairs getting ready, Hey miles, you coming with us?," bianca said.
"Uhmm… yeah sure, I mean why not," I said. But honestly I always had this feeling that bianca always likes me, but am not the type of guy to usually make the first move, I let the fish come to.
"Ok, you guys can come in, your no strangers after all," bianca said.
We walked into the house and bianca closed the door behind us— the house was way more cooler in the inside.
"Oh yeah, before i forget , stephany's dad is going to meet us in the restaurant," bianca said.
"Yeah,sure, no problem," Jeremy said, his voice a little too quick like the words were tripping over each other to escape.
I looked at Jeremy and it looked like he was nervous but I had to laugh, that's what you get when you want to date an ex-cop and a current worker for the tech company POW-TECH.
Bianca was also able to read the room so she smiled and for a reason that made me happy. She wanted to go upstairs but I stopped her
"Hey, uhmm…can I talk to you in the kitchen for a while," I said, my heart was pounding so hard, I could actually feel it, like it was trying to punch its way out of my chest.
"Yeah sure, let's go," she said
I wanted to ask her to prom but I know what you all are thinking, how can I ask her in the last minute.
"What did you want to talk about," she said, without having a single clue.
"I actually didn't want to talk, I mean i did but it's actually more of a question than a conversation," I said with my heart beat getting louder as I get closer to asking her the question.
"Oh, ok , ask a way then," she said with a little chuckle.
"Uhmm… ok, I don't really know how to say this but… I was wondering if you could go to prom with me," I said with a sigh of relief. I was really happy I said that and got that question out of my mind.
But then at that moment there was this akward silence in the kitchen and she just froze, I sincerely felt like an idiot cause I mean, at the last minute was when I was asking a girl I liked for a long time to go to the prom with me.
"Oh shit, you know what?, just forget about it, it was a stupid question, I mean by now some guy should have asked you out by now," I said with my voice having a tone of disappointment.
"No, I mean, yeah of course i will love to go to prom with you, I've been waiting for you to ask me ever since, I even thought you wouldn't," she said with a smile
"What, what do you mean, I've been meaning asking you ever since, I mean if we're being honest here I really like you, like really like you" I said, my heart pumping for joy cause I just did what I've been meaning to do ever since.
"Really, you do?, I like you to, but I didn't know how to tell you," she said with a smile on her face
That smile meant everything to me, at that moment I went up to her and hugged her and picked her up with joy and we both laughed about it.
"So are we… you know, are we gonna really do this?," I said with a smile on my face.
"I mean sure, why not, we like each other so let's give it a shot, and also christopher did ask me to the prom but I turned him down and told him you asked already," she said with a chuckle
"Well fuck christopher, am your boyfriend now," I said with a chuckle.
There was a moment I always imagined in my head, I think i can do that now.
I reached for her, my heart hammering like it was trying to break free .she didn't pull away. Instead, she leaned in, and in that instant, nothing else mattered.
I pulled her closer, feeling the warmth of her against me and kissed her—for the very first time.
This was something I always wanted to do, and am happy i was able to do that.
