Ryker blinked at her, pretending to be confused. "Turtle… bus?"
Luna gasped. "Daddy, how can you not know? It was huge. And it swam. And flew. And it had glowing seats. And my bed was beside Boo… ugh… but also it was so pretty."
Ryker finally laughed, unable to hold it in. "Ah… that turtle bus."
"Yes, that one." Luna bounced excitedly in his arms, her tail wagging fast beneath the blanket. "Teacher took us under the ocean and we went so deep and there were shiny fishes and a princess mermaid and swings and a shark boy and…"
She drew a long breath, her whole tiny body vibrating with excitement as she sat between her parents. Her mother's gentle hands stroked her hair, encouraging her to continue, and her father listened with that soft, proud look he only ever had for his daughter.
