When the crew got back to the estate, dinner was ready.
Since their mother had left, the table felt a too big and James asked his sisters if his servants could dine with them. They had agreed.
Veronica and Emily looked a little perturbed at first, but quickly got used to being served by the maids.
James was thinking as he ate and didn't really join the conversation. He was getting bored of reading and wanted to do something.

"I was able to get revenge on Diana.. that had to count for something! Please~ let me goooo~"
Madeline sighed.
"James.. the problem is that you're only level 10. What would happen if-"
"That's why I'll have Emily, Veronica and Justine with me. They're very capable, I promise."
"Mmmm ugh. I would feel more comfortable if you told me exactly what skill you posses that could incapacitate a Duchess. Then maybe I'd be more inclined.."
Madeline was fishing for answers again. James had swore to himself that he would keep his perk [Unblocked] and his skill [Entoxicating Scent] a secret.
What if one day the people he trusted turned on him. What his mother had done, had completely changed James's perspective. He really understood that he was in a dangerous world now.
He thought he understood it before, but his abuse made him come to the realization that it won't always be sunshine and rainbows in his future.
Thus, his sisters would be left in the dark about his secrets.
"Sorry Madeline, but you know I don't wish to say. I promise I'll be completely safe when if you let me go.."
She looked disappointed that he wasn't going to tell her. She then gave a sigh as she thought, her face was contrasting with her words.
"Finnneee. You can go outside to battle monsters."
James jumped up and hugged his sister.
Her face was dazzling as she looked at him tenderly. Her big sister energy overflowing.
"Sister is so reasonable!"
"You can go out. With a few conditions."
James elation dialed down a little as he listened to these conditions.
"First, you will take Captain Susan so you can form the standard five member party. Second, you can only leave after morning breakfast and must return home before dinner time. Third,you must stay at home on the weekends."
James pondered and accepted these terms readily, he was just confused about the last one.
"Why can't I go out on the weekends?"
Madeline had a little blush as she responded.
"That's because I'm making those days family time from now on until you go to the academy. I know it's selfish.. but we missed you James and we haven't really spent that much time together since you've returned home.."
'I guess that makes sense.'
"Okay, I agree! Thanks Maddy, you're the best and most beautiful sister ever!"
Madeline looked very proud of herself at his compliment and looked at their sisters like she just won something.
Clara glared back at her and Gwen just looked as aloof as ever.
When James returned to his room, he was too excited to go to sleep. He didn't know what to do and he suddenly remembered he had been putting some off for awhile now. Emily's quota.
He had been tempted to just go for it, but his body had shook and his mouth went mute each time he was about to ask her.
Tonight was different, his future felt somewhat stable and the normalcy of the past week had partially healed his trauma.
James sat at his desk and watched Emily for a while. She was polishing her daggers and bickering with Veronica about who would be more helpful to him tomorrow. He couldn't help but appreciate her beauty.
