{Chapter: 221: Getting Along After a Short Separation}
Aiden took May and Sif back to reunite with Coulson, Daisy, and the rest of the team. As the plane landed smoothly on the tarmac, Coulson was already walking toward the hatch. His eyes widened slightly when he caught sight of Sif disembarking alongside Aiden.
"Isn't that... Lorelei?" Coulson asked, his tone cautious, hand inching toward his holstered weapon.
Aiden chuckled and raised a calming hand. "Relax, Phil. Lorelei slipped away. This is Sif — the Goddess of War from Asgard. She's here on official business to capture Lorelei"
May followed close behind, briefly explaining what had happened. Coulson exhaled, clearly still on edge. He'd dealt with Asgardians before, and trust didn't come easily.
Inside the Bus, Fitz and Simmons were whispering excitedly as they stared at the silver-armored warrior beside Aiden. Daisy stood nearby, her arms crossed but her eyes curious.
Aiden stepped in with a grin. "Everyone, this is Lady Sif. She's an elite warrior from Asgard, and more importantly, a good friend. She's not here to fight us."
Sif performed a slight bow, placing her left hand over her chest and leaning forward in the traditional Asgardian salute. "It is an honor to meet the allies of Aiden. I thank you for assisting in this realm."
"Whoa..." Fitz muttered under his breath. "She's way cooler than Thor."
Jemma elbowed him lightly, whispering, "Fitz!"
Daisy approached Sif, her tone casual. "So... you're from Asgard? Must be wild up there."
Sif nodded with a slight smirk. "It is not unlike your world. We just tend to settle disputes with blades rather than bureaucracy."
Daisy chuckled. "I might like that."
Aiden kept his eye on Sif and Daisy, but thankfully there was no tension. In fact, Sif looked more amused than anything. Later, he pulled her aside to speak privately.
"Still worried I might charm all the mortals here, Aiden?" Sif teased with a raised brow.
He leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed. "I mean, you already charmed me. But you know how protective humans get."
Sif stepped closer, her voice soft but steady. "You always speak with that tongue of yours. Are all Midgardian men so silver-tongued?"
Aiden smiled, enjoying the playful tension. "Only the ones lucky enough to be kissed by war goddesses."
Her cheeks reddened just a touch — a rare crack in her stoic demeanor. "I did not kiss you first."
"Really?" he replied, brushing a strand of her hair back. "Well, I seem to have a talent for remembering the opposite!"
Sif didn't swat him away. Instead, she looked up at him with that warrior calm. "We are not on the battlefield, Aiden. But don't think I have forgotten how to fight off distractions."
"Who said I was a distraction? Maybe I'm just... another kind of battle."
She narrowed her eyes at him, then smirked. "Then you best be prepared to lose."
Meanwhile, Aiden was still trying to sense Lorelei. Sitting in one of the Bus's side alcoves, he tried to locate Lorelei again, but Lorelei's position remained hidden. He frowned.
"Strange," he muttered. "Is it some artifact shielding her? Or just Asgardian magic?"
He tested his range by trying to detect Sif, who was just across the ship. Still nothing. That confirmed it: Asgardians must be beyond the positioning ability.
He sighed and leaned back. "Well, that makes this a waiting game."
In this case, he can only rely on the resources of SHIELD to find Lorelai. As long as she shows up, Aiden is sure to catch her. If she doesn't show up, it will be a bit difficult. However, judging from her personality, she is definitely not a woman who is willing to keep a low profile. Sooner or later, she will show up, so there is no need to rush to find her..
Sif joined him, standing with her arms crossed, gazing into the horizon. "She will appear again. Lorelei has never been one to stay hidden long. Her pride won't allow it."
Aiden looked up at her, studying her expression. "You almost sound like you admire her."
Sif shook her head. "No. I understand her. That is different."
"So... while we're waiting, does the mighty warrior Sif have time for something less... Asgardian? Like dinner? Or a sparring match?"
"A sparring match is acceptable. And if you impress me... then we may speak of dinner," she said, her smile faint but genuine.
Aiden laughed. "Deal. But fair warning, I fight dirty."
"So do I, Aiden. So do I."
And with that, the two walked off toward the training area, the rest of the SHIELD crew watching with curiosity, while the sparks between warrior and mage quietly smoldered under the surface.
It's a rare opportunity for Sif to come here, and if Lorelai wasn't caught, she probably won't go back for the time being, so he can accompany Sif well.
After a light exchange of swords and fists with Sif—a sparring match more about playfulness than dominance—Aiden, of course, came out on top. He didn't gloat; instead, he offered his hand to Sif as she stood, her breathing steady, her eyes shining with that fierce pride he had come to admire.
"You're still impossible to pin down," Sif said, brushing dust from her armor, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. "Though I suppose that's part of the appeal."
Aiden smirked, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. "And you're still the only woman who can knock me off my balance with a single look."
Sif didn't blush easily, but her eyes softened as she looked at him.
Moments later, Aiden made his way to Daisy. She stood by the SHIELD monitoring console, reviewing some data, but her attention shifted the moment she saw him approach.
Aiden looked toward the main hangar where the others were gathered, then turned his eyes to Daisy. He approached her with the softness in his voice reserved only for the ones closest to his heart.
"Daisy, I want to take Sif out for a walk. It's not every day she visits Earth."
Daisy arched an eyebrow, her arms crossed but with a playful glint in her eyes. "You two know each other that well?"
Aiden nodded casually. "We've crossed paths before. She's good people… and she's done more than her fair share keeping the realms from falling into chaos."
Daisy arched a brow, a playful smirk forming. "You and the Asgardian goddess of war? Sounds like quite the power couple."
"You jealous?" he asked with a teasing grin.
Daisy stepped closer, poking a finger at his chest. "Should I be?"
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. "Never. You're always first in my heart."
Her lips twitched, fighting a smile. "Just don't let her talk you into conquering a planet."
"Only if you rule it with me."
Daisy paused for a moment, studying his face. Then she exhaled, her shoulders relaxing as accepting something.
"Go ahead. Sif's cool. A bit intense, but kind. If anything happens here, we'll ping you immediately."
"You're the best," Aiden said with a grin, placing a quick kiss on Daisy's cheek before turning back toward Sif, who had been chatting with Coulson. As the kiss landed, Sif glanced over without much of a reaction — her expression unreadable as ever, though her grip on her sword relaxed slightly.
Her face remained calm, almost unreadable, but her eyes lingered on Aiden with a quiet patience. When he approached, she stood tall, her arms folding across her chest.
Aiden walked up, briefly exchanged a few words with Coulson, then gently rested his hand on Sif's armored shoulder. With a pulse of energy, the two of them disappeared.
They reappeared moments later in a warmly lit hotel suite, modern and minimalist in its decor.
"What is this place?" Sif asked, scanning her surroundings with a curious eye. "Did you just… teleport?"
"Something like that," Aiden replied. "And this—" he waved his hand, "—is a hotel room I booked for us. But first, you'll need to blend in a little more."
She nodded with interest. "You've grown stronger." Sif tilted her head, raising an eyebrow. "Blend in?"
"You're a vision in Asgardian armor, don't get me wrong you look super hot in it, but Earth has its own fashion. You might draw too much attention in all that silver and leather."
He raised a hand, and with a flick of his wrist, conjured a neatly folded outfit: a simple yet stylish combination of dark jeans, a fitted white T-shirt, and a cropped leather jacket. He handed it to her with a grin. "This should suit you."
This set of clothes was actually bought by Aiden for Sif. Sif's personality and temperament are more akin to that of a heroic woman. She has a unique temperament that is different from Lorelai or Daisy..
Therefore, that kind of particularly feminine clothes can be worn on Sif. However, there is some conflict in temperament, and it looks out of place. So, he chose this outfit, which should look cool on her.
Sif raised a brow. "You picked this for me?"
"Specifically. You're not a silk-and-pearls kind of goddess. You're the storm that wears leather and makes it look like battle armor."
For a moment, the proud warrior let her facade drop. A rare smile touched her lips as she took the outfit.
"Do I look like I care about mortal fashion?"
"Maybe not," Aiden said, his smile softening. "But I think you'll look great in it. And it might help you enjoy the Earth a little more without disturbance."
Sif narrowed her eyes at him, but took the clothes anyway. "Mmm."
He chuckled and turned, raising his hands in mock surrender as she changed in front of him.
Aiden insisted that she change in front of him, under the pretext of teaching her how to dress. Of course, his purpose was to feast for his eyes.
"You know," he said, "in Midgard, we usually call this a date."
"A sparring match and a wardrobe change?" Sif asked, now zipping up the jacket. "You Midgardians have strange customs."
Aiden looked at her and gave a low whistle. "See? You pull off Earth fashion like you were born to it."
After changing her clothes, Sif's whole temperament was different.
It has less of the "hard" feeling of a warrior and more of a cool feeling.
She looked down at herself, tugging at the leather sleeves. "It is… more comfortable for sure."
"You look like the cover of a rock album. A really dangerous one."
"And very 'warrior chic,'" Aiden added. "Now, shall we go see what Midgard has to offer?"
"And you talk too much," she said, but there was warmth in her tone. "Where to first Aiden.
"That's right. Next, I will take you to learn about the Earth and how the people on Earth live. Then Dinner. A walk. Then maybe I show you how Earth watches the stars."
She raised an eyebrow. "We have stars in Asgard."
"Yes, but ours are different. And I never watched them with you before."
Sif didn't reply immediately. Instead, she stepped forward and took his hand. "Then let us go see your stars, Aiden."
Aiden clapped his hands in satisfaction, then went out with Sif.
The two stepped out into the fading golden hour of the city, the world bustling around them. Aiden showed her the sights — introducing her to coffee, teasing her reaction to spicy food, and even convincing her to ride an escalator despite her suspicious glare. To an outsider, they might have looked like an odd couple: the graceful warrior with centuries of battle experience, and the cheeky Midgardian with powers that rivaled gods. But together, there was an ease — a sense of camaraderie, trust, and something deeper beneath the surface.
Throughout the evening, Sif's initial formality gave way to something more relaxed. She laughed at his jokes — quietly, at first — and even challenged him to another duel in the middle of the park after being told about Earth's "sparring gyms."
By the time they finished dinner, there was a comfortable silence between them as they walked back toward the hotel.
Sif glanced at Aiden, then spoke softly, her voice touched by something rare — vulnerability. "You… live strangely. But it has its charm."
"Coming from the Goddess of War, I'll take that as a compliment."
"You should," she said, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
