Chapter 27 - Chapter 9.5 – The Daughters of Zarakov

Extra

Eve walked into the adventurers' guild.

At the front desk, nearly asleep on top of a stack of papers, was Mara.

Her enormous breasts occupied most of the customer service space.

"...Damn. Look at that potential," Eve muttered to herself in a completely neutral tone.

She approached calmly.

"Good afternoon, Mara."

The receptionist slowly sat up and wiped the drool from the corner of her mouth.

"Sorry… I think I dozed off…"

"Confirmed. Did all three of you fall asleep?"

"Three?" Mara yawned, confused. "Anyway…"

She reached under the counter and dropped a coin pouch onto the table.

"Here's the payment from what you turned in earlier today."

"Total loot: fifty gold coins, twenty-seven silver, and thirteen copper."

"Thank you, goddess of watermelons," Eve replied with total seriousness.

"Do you know where I can find Luminitas? I need to recharge my magic core."

Mara stared at her, unsure if Eve was malfunctioning… or just rambling.

"Uh… there's a magic item shop across the street for adventurers."

"Though if you're just after Luminite, even street vendors usually carry some."

Eve gave a slight nod of gratitude and walked away in silence. Mara, drained of energy, promptly fell asleep again on the counter.

Outside the guild, Eve quickly found the shop Mara had mentioned. An old wooden sign swung above the door, creaking in the wind as if it had hung there for decades.

The inside matched the exterior—dusty glass cases, scratched-up shields, worn-out swords. It looked more like an antique store than an adventurer's shop.

Eve stepped up to the counter and rang a rusted bell.

"Hello. Is anyone here?"

Slow footsteps echoed on the aged wooden floor.

"I'm coming… just a moment, please…"

An older woman approached the counter. She wore glasses comically large for her face and had a calm, gentle smile.

"Good afternoon, dear. What can I help you with?"

"I'm looking for Luminitas, Umbranitas, and Ignisitas," Eve replied, dead serious.

"Ah… magical stones," the woman murmured, walking to the side. With care, she pulled off a cloth covering several barrels.

"For ten gold coins… you can take the whole lot," she said, as if selling onions.

Eve tilted her head, confused.

"Based on my calculations, even at low quality, the stones in each barrel would be worth at least one hundred gold."

"May I ask why they're so cheap?"

The old woman adjusted her glasses to get a better look at her.

"My, what a direct question." Her eyes sparkled with sly recognition.

"I see now. You're one of those things from Miss Zarakov."

"How do you know I'm from Zarakov?"

The woman smiled… and called out toward the back room:

"Minu! Miku! Maki! Could you come here for a moment?" Three figures appeared.

First came a tall young woman, very similar to Eve, with a wide smile full of curiosity. Then came two small girls with shining eyes—miniature versions of Eve herself.

"This is Miku, the eldest… and the twins, Minu and Maki," the old woman said. "They were assistants to my late husband."

"I can't believe it!" exclaimed the tallest of the girls, circling around Eve and inspecting her from every angle.

The twins began poking at her arms, torso, and face as if they couldn't quite believe she was real.

"You must be Evelin, right? The first automaton prototype! We thought you were just a legend…"

Eve blinked.

"…Who are you?"

The eldest smiled, thoughtful.

"Let's say we're your younger sisters."

"We're the domestic assistant model M1Ku, and the helper twins M1Nu and M4K1," the three said in perfect unison.

"I see," Eve replied, contemplative. "They added… personality to your configurations."

She studied the eldest carefully.

"And visually, Miku received two major upgrades," she added, glancing at her chest.

Then, she shifted her gaze toward the twins.

"And you two… are the spitting image of Zarakov."

All three clung to Evelin with bright-eyed excitement.

"You actually met our creator!?" they shouted together.

"Yes. She's a small woman, about the same height and build as you two…but with a highly eccentric personality."

A soft cough interrupted the moment.

"Ahem…"

The older woman raised her voice gently.

"Miss Evelin, I'd like to ask you a favor."

Eve turned toward her, curious.

"As I mentioned earlier, I'm about to close this shop"

"I'll be moving to Velmyra—a coastal city in Molgaroth—to live with my grandchildren…"

Her voice turned slightly nostalgic.

"These three girls belonged to my late husband."

"And I can't take them with me…"

Eve already knew what was coming. She had been abandoned five times before. This wasn't new.

"Don't worry. They can come with me."

"I'm sorry to ask you like this…"

"But if you accept, you can take the stones as a gift too."

Eve shook her head calmly.

"First, I want to ask them…"

"Do you three want to come with me?"

"Do you know how to fight?"

The three looked at each other. None of them answered aloud—but their silence said everything.

"…If Grandma's leaving, we don't have anywhere else to go."

Eve nodded.

"Master Kaito's a womanizer. There probably won't be a problem."

She turned to the old woman, serious.

"I have no objections. But if they're coming with me… they'll need to learn to defend themselves."

She pointed to a wall of the shop.

"I want that bow, that sword and shield set… and that spear."

"Take whatever you need," the woman said, smiling warmly.

Eve placed ten gold coins on the counter.

Then, without blinking, she slipped the entire set of magic barrels into her internal storage—defying all known laws of volume and physics.

Later that day, Eve returned home.

As she opened the door, the first thing she saw was Kaito, Seri, and Ayame sprawled across the floor, completely exhausted.

"Hey, Eve… glad you're back," Kaito mumbled, barely lifting his head.

"Hello, Master. I've brought our daughters," Eve said with total seriousness.

"…What?"

"…What?"

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?"

All three of them jumped to their feet. And sure enough… there were four Eves in the room.

Seri grabbed Kaito by the collar, eyes wide with shock.

"Kaito… When did this happen!?"

"Did you two… hold hands or something?!"

. . .

Absolute silence.

Just the sound of a single neuron collapsing.

Ayame stepped forward, determined.

"You're wrong, Seri."

"Babies come after kissing."

"That's what Lady Kaori told me."

. . .

"Please… let's not continue," Kaito muttered, burying his face in his hands.

"Besides… can't you see one of them is taller than Eve?"

"And the other two are Seri-sized!"

"Where's the logic in any of this?!" he shouted, completely red in the face.

Eve stepped forward calmly and began gesturing with her hands.

"Babies are made when—"

Miku leapt in front of her and covered her little sisters' ears.

"Don't listen, girls! I never imagined our big sister would be such a pervert!"

And so, between laughter, shouting, biological confusion, and existential migraines…

The family had grown.

Again.
