The people responsible for this mess had finally been dealt with, including the man who had orchestrated it all. The situation around Max wasn't the only one that had improved. When he looked across the docks, he could see that the Fallen Rose members had come out on top as well.
Their opponents were down, and the women were still standing. After everything that had happened, the battle was finally over.
"Max! You're okay, right?" Vera asked as she ran towards him. "You didn't get hurt or anything?"
Shooting and Sarah exchanged a look as their leader hurried past them, her attention fixed entirely on Max.
"Look at her," Shooting said. "Did she forget the two of us exist? She hasn't even come over to check on us."
"What can you do?" Sarah replied with a shrug. "The boss is in love. You remember how she used to be, getting hooked on one guy after another, only to end up heartbroken."
Shooting knew exactly what she meant.
