What a journey it has been. 70000 words. 230+ readers. We are done with volume 1. Honestly, it could have been done a bit better. The characters weren't flushed out properly before the crisis hit them. They could be given more depth. More exposition would have fixed it, but I was afraid that too much slice of life would have made readers turn away from the book.
Choosing a child protagonist was a risky move, as I was advised to write a story that keeps readers on edge on this platform. More action and adventure. With this volume, I wanted to show that Peter may be full of potential, but he can still suffer loss.
This volume was meant to do world-building, introduce aspects of the magic system, and tell you what to expect from future volumes. That's why the name of this volume has the word Foundation in it.
