Three years have passed, and things have changed but for karen, she felt nothing has ever changed. Her suffering in the dungeon continued day by day, year by year.
As the door creaks open. Camillia walked towards karen cell and said to her, "Seeing you suffer all alone, in this cold and dark dungeon, makes my day complete."
Camillia gazes at the woman shackled by chains. She was nothing but skin and bones. She was laying on the ground and seemed unbothered by her words, but her eyes despite the hair that was covering her face like a veiled, can be seen clearly and it conveyed intense hatred when looking at her. Moreover, Her once beautiful gown, that she proudly showed off in the past was now tattered and worn out.
Then camillia spoke, "Farewell, Karen. I sense your death is near. So, if ever you are reincarnated into another life, be a righteous person. Being greedy and ungrateful or a terrible villain is not your calling. Choosing the same path again, would only lead to the same ending."
Karen never uttered a single word but her eyes are burning with hatred.
I regret it, why I am not strong enough. If I am strong enough. Our roles should have been reversed. I should be the one enjoying the sun while she's trapped here in the darkness.
Camilia looked at her and said, "Even death cannot let you realize your own mistakes. You're truly hopeless, Karen."
Karen slowly closes her eyes with unwillingness.
For three long years, i suffered in this cold and dark dungeon. Everyday my body is in pain due to small animals biting me, the hunger and the electric shock, i suffered every once in a while. Even at night, some creepy creature will appear, scaring me until I faint. I don't want to die yet because i haven't even taken my revenge against my hateful enemies.
But no matter how unwilling she was, in the end, she can't overcome death. She died with a heavy heart full of hatred.
It's truly an agonizing experience for karen and three years have passed, she still refuses to acknowledge her misconduct and she never stops blaming and hating her enemies, although it was her action that brought her to that situation.
Meanwhile, inside a cozy decorated room. A girl is laying on the bed with a smile on her face. It was Betty, she was laughing with excitement and joy.
The dream spell I cast on her will make her re-experience, the moments that happened in life that she hated the most. The moments she was helpless and alone, if there's no such moment in her life, then the dream will create for her.
It's so exciting to imagine how my hateful enemy at this very moment, is suffering the same pain we suffer. I hope the dream will drive her crazy, so that she can be imprisoned in the mental hospital. Then our life, will be very happy and peaceful, if she's out of the picture.
~knock~knock~
A door knock disrupted betty thoughts and knowing it's her mother, she hurriedly walks towards the door and opens it with a smile on her face.
"Mom, You're Home." Betty said as she hugged her mother.
"My clingy daughter." Her mother replied with a smile.
Downstairs....
As the mother and daughter, ate their dinner.
Betty's Mother: My dear, have you heard what happened in your school?
Betty: Yeah, It turns into a mega size popsicle.
Betty's Mother: A bit of that, but I'm talking about that witch.
Betty: I heard she almost killed Sena.
Betty's Mother: And that would be your fate, if you still want to stick with that girl.
Betty: But Mom, she's our savior.
Betty's Mother: I know but you should stop being a hero for her. Your life is always at stake if you are still involved with her. My dear, that girl already begged you not to interfere because she knows, what's better for her friends. Moreover, if you want to protect her, protect yourself first.
Betty: I want to be by her side, protecting her just like when we are young.
Betty's Mother: I know but now it's not the same anymore.
In Sena's house, in her bedroom, she was sitting on her bed, looking at the wall in dazed while having flashbacks about the things that happened just a while ago.
Minutes passed by...
In the dining room, having dinner, her mother suddenly spoke about karen and Sena issue. Sena thought she would be scolded again without a doubt, however she didn't know the next word her mother spoke, was the opposite of what she expected.
"The things that you told us about Karen, are true yet we failed to believe you." Hearing her mother's words, Sena was stunned and recalled the scene where she had been dreaming in her dreams countless times but now it happened. It was truly as if some clouds covering the light, disappeared.
Then her mother spoke again with teary eyes," As a mother, the closest person to you. I failed to protect you."
Jonathan looked at her and said, " As a brother, and I claimed a hundred times in the past that I will protect you but I broke my oath."
Besides Jonathan, Luke is sitting on a quiet manner, elegant like a statue but deep inside him, his troubled and sad about his sister experiences, then he said,"If you're willing to share your troubles, we're here to listen."
"My dear, if you're comfortable talking about your experiences, we are ready to listen to your troubles, and I assure you, it will never be ignored again." Her mother said with a promise
Without exaggeration but the truth, only the truth. Sena told them all what happened to her from all through the years she was under Karen rule.
She was crying with heartache, her tears, kept falling from her eyes, "Whenever I told you three, the things that karen did to me, you all never heard me, as if you three had been brainwashed not to listen to my cries. I always felt like I was abandoned by all of you."
Then she added," It hurts like some knife inserted into my heart and split it open. But despite what I experience from all of you, even though sometimes I lost fate towards you three but I still continue to believe that there comes a day, my mother, my two older brothers are willing to listen to me wholeheartedly and today was this day. "
"Thankfully, I continued to walk, all alone in my thorny path to see and feel this moment. If I gave up halfway it will certainly stay as a regret. To all the days that I have experienced and whenever I feel sad and alone, helpless about my situation. I told myself that I am not truly alone, there's someone supporting me behind that others don't know about and it's enough that only myself knows. Those words are my motivation to keep moving and think positive that one day, I can have your attention to listen to my cries."
"You all pampered me with love and affection but when it comes to her. You all became blind and a mindless idiots, worshipping that snake, thats the one thing you all failed me as a family. Mindlessly protecting a person that not's so worthy to protect. Everything is fine, peaceful and fun, just the way I like it, but when the topic is all about her, you all change. My own family, my neighbors, my classmates, even stranger's, you all lean towards her. Despite that, I never gave up, you three. Because you all never been so cold and ignored me everyday for 24 hours like what others have done, except the times, when its all about her."
"I....not worthy of your forgiveness, my dear." Her mother said with her tears keep falling down and her two brothers looked at her with silence but their eyes are filled with pain.
Sena looked at them and said with frankness, "No matter how many times you three, beg me to forgive you, for now, I will not forgive you three easily. Even though I know there some kind of brainwashing method you three are under. Even though you are my family but the pain and misery you three bestowed upon me are real. Even my friends broke through her spell but my own family failed. I can't just easily say such words of forgiveness because if I do, all the things I do will become a joke."
Seeing her family silence, she added. "I can't forgive you three but it doesn't mean, I don't love you. It's just that my forgiveness are hard to give for the persons who brought me pain. Family, I am not ready to give my forgiveness."
Her Mother looked at her and said, "We respect you, my dear."
Then Jonathan said with heartache, "It's all our fault, we are unworthy to accept your forgiveness."
Luke nodded on Jonathan words and said to sena, "We are willing to wait, even it takes forever."
"What if I won't?" Sena looked at them
"Then, we deserve it." Replied by Luke
Then they ate in silence and Sena after dinner walk upstairs to her room.
