Chapter 119 - CHAPTER 116 – RUN AND REN’S JOURNEY

*Note: I know you don't mind but... My Pokémon fic is finally back! Go to take a look it if you want.

With that said, have a good day :)

...

"Very well, but let me ask you a question. Where will you live?" Gid inquired.

"Uh... I suppose I will exchange the money Your Majesty granted me for the local currency and buy a house. If not, I can simply sleep in my spaceship; it's not very large, but it's sufficient," Dita replied.

She hadn't really thought about it until that moment, but what she had just said seemed the most logical option.

"Would you like me to advise you on a place where you could stay?" Gid asked.

Dita was surprised. The King himself was going to advise her on where she could stay? Since when did the King concern himself with such irrelevant matters?

"O-Of course, Your Majesty," Dita assented, a little nervous.

"Very well, then I suggest you ask my future son-in-law for help. He has a weakness for beautiful women and is even capable of taking you in at his house," Gid suggested.

Dita was perplexed for a few seconds. Was the King indirectly offering her to his son-in-law?

It wasn't that she would refuse; in fact, that was one of her goals in going to Earth. The first was to meet her idol, Konjiki no Yami, and become her friend, while the second was for Akira to fall in love with her. That way, she could be with Konjiki no Yami forever, though not in a sexual sense, of course.

Besides, it wasn't that she disliked Akira. After all, Akira was an extremely handsome boy (by her standards) and would be King in the future—in other words, handsome, rich, and powerful. What more could one ask for in a husband?

Nor did she doubt Akira's personality at all. Since her idol had chosen him, Akira was definitely a good person, and she had complete faith in Yami's decisions. Furthermore, anyone who could make her idol abandon her career as an assassin (the only thing she didn't like about Yami in the past) had to be a strong and good-natured person.

Dita's mind was rather simple: if Yami approved of something, she would too. If Yami liked something or someone, she would eventually like them as well; conversely, if Yami hated something or someone, Dita would hate it with all her might. Her way of thinking was that simple.

And for those wondering, yes, her obsession with Yami was that great. The only good thing was that she wasn't a yandere; otherwise, she wouldn't view Akira the way she did.

Having clarified this and after thinking for a few seconds, Dita recovered from her initial surprise.

"Is there a problem?" Gid asked upon seeing Dita so pensive.

"Nothing at all! I was just thinking about something, forgive me!" Dita quickly apologized.

"It's fine. In any case, our conversation ends here for now. Tomorrow, you can come by this location and speak with Sub-Captain Reizor. He will guide you to me, and I will give you the corresponding permit and money. As for accommodation, I will instruct my guards to let you sleep in one of the ship's rooms," Gid said.

Dita was surprised, as she hadn't expected to receive such... unique treatment from the King. To lodge her on his ship? Even for a single night, only those with permission, like his family and soldiers, were allowed to set foot on the King's ship. In fact, if the King hadn't personally called her, the request to go to Earth would have had to go through the usual procedure, which could have taken months, assuming she even met all the highly difficult requirements.

"Don't overthink it. There are no space stations in this solar system to accommodate you, so it's either sleeping here or... drifting in space. You choose," Gid stated.

In reality, if it were anyone else, Gid wouldn't have allowed them to stay on the ship, but seeing the girl's beauty and knowing her reasons for going to Earth, he found it amusing.

You don't like beauties, son-in-law? Well, I'm sending you one to enjoy.

Gid simply wanted to have a little fun. He knew the girl had certain feelings for Yami and wanted to see how Akira would react. He just wanted to play a joke on him and be entertained for a bit.

Who told him to take all his daughters? Now you will have to deal with this girl; enjoy it.

It wasn't resentment... or maybe it was, who knows.

But Gid had no idea of Dita's thoughts and objectives; otherwise, he surely wouldn't have given her permission to go to Earth. To be completely honest, in the future, when Gid realized what he had actually done by sending her to Earth to live with his great son-in-law... let's just say he wasn't as amused as he thought, but that is a story for later.

"Then I will gladly accept your offer," Dita said.

What else could she say? There was no space station in this solar system for her to spend the night, so her only options were to accept the King's offer or sleep in her spaceship adrift in space, which is why Dita believed she had chosen the correct option.

As for what a space station was: they were simply places where one could rest if they didn't want to sleep in their spaceship, something like a hotel in the middle of space. However, since humans hadn't yet achieved the necessary technology to travel into space, there was no need to put a space station here. Otherwise, humans could detect it, and a cloaking device that could hide something as large as a space station wasn't exactly cheap to obtain and maintain, making it unprofitable.

On the other hand, although humans possessed technology capable of observing outer space, it was still too primitive, and a simple cloaking device could bypass all their detection attempts. This is why humans hadn't found life on other planets: because all ships entering this solar system had a cloaking device. After all, revealing the existence of life on other planets to primitive civilizations was punishable by death, and not even the nobles would dare to do something like that.

{Note: I believe I have explained several plot holes, but please point out any remaining ones so I can address them. Thank you.}

With that said, Gid dismissed Dita and asked one of his soldiers to assign her one of the empty rooms on the ship.

"Excuse my rudeness, Your Majesty, but... may I ask why you are giving this girl such good treatment? She has already renounced her noble titles, and even if she hadn't, she is just the daughter of a noble from a dying planet. Why give her such exquisite treatment?" Reizor asked.

Reizor had been listening to the entire conversation without uttering a single word or questioning his King's decisions, but he couldn't help but wonder why he had given such preferential treatment to this girl when she had nothing special about her apart from her beauty.

"I am only doing it to mock my future son-in-law a bit. He took all my sweet daughters who, by the way, don't even call me anymore. That is why I sent that girl to him," Gid answered.

"Are you referring to the somewhat obsessive feelings she has for Mr. Akira's fiancée?" Reizor asked curiously.

"That's right," Gid assented.

"I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but... do you think it will turn out the way you expect?" Reizor asked.

"No, but I already told you it was to mock him. I'm already looking forward to seeing his face when he has to deal with that girl. I will tell Zastin to take the highest quality photos of him and send them to me!" Gid said excitedly.

His King behaving like a child... well, at least he's having a little fun.

It had been a while since Reizor had seen Gid enjoying himself like this, and it wasn't as if it was wrong for him to have fun once in a while. Even a King needed to clear his mind occasionally, especially a King who governed an entire galaxy.

{Note: Everyone deserves a break.}

"I understand, I won't ask any more questions," Reizor assented. There was no need to keep asking; since the King wanted to have some fun, there was no need to question it.

"Perfect. Now inform the permits department to prepare a permit to go to Earth and send it to me today. Also, get some Earth money, specifically Japanese currency. Since she wants to live there, all her money will be converted into Japanese Yen," Gid said.

Dita did not seem to have the slightest intention of leaving Earth, so he would exchange all her money for Japanese Yen so she could buy a house, even if things didn't work out as she hoped.

"Immediately," Reizor said.

Run and Ren's Training Ends

While the conversation with Dita was taking place...

"I finally finished!" said a boy.

Or, rather, an adolescent who looked about 15 or 16 years old, with green hair and dressed in sports clothes... in short, it was Ren, who, after weeks of waiting, had finally finished his training.

ACHOO!

Now it was Run who had taken control.

{Note: I hate it, but for the moment, Ren and Run will switch places in this manner. I have already looked for a solution for this, but I won't be able to implement it until a few more chapters have passed. Until then, every time the onomatopoeia for a sneeze appears, Ren and Run will switch places. It might be a bit... frustrating, but it will only be for a few chapters, and then we will set Ren aside. Thank you for your patience.}

"It's about time! You said your training would only last a few days, and weeks have passed! I don't even know how I let you convince me to wait so long!" Run said, annoyed.

ACHOO!

"It's because I wanted to be extra prepared to challenge that despicable human to a duel! Even if he's a human, the King must have allowed their engagement for a reason! He's probably stronger than the average human or something! That's why I trained a little longer, to be completely sure of my victory," Ren explained.

ACHOO!

"And how sure are you about being able to defeat my adorable Akira?" Run asked curiously.

During these weeks, she had started to like Akira more and more, though she didn't know why. Akira was handsome, but not extremely beautiful, yet he had something that attracted her. In fact, she even had photographs of him taped all over her room, and yes, each of them had their own room.

ACHOO!

"100%! I've been training very hard; you should know that," Ren said, frowning.

ACHOO!

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I only have my Akira on my mind. As for everything else... I simply don't care," Run said, dismissing Ren's training.

{Note: Many notes in this chapter, but they are to clarify some things that I cannot explain in the chapter using narrative style. In short, Run falls for Rito very quickly in the original story, so I decided to maintain that, but with Akira.}
