Chapter 51 - CHAPTER 52

Chapter 052

If it were an ordinary pirate facing Crocodile especially in the deserts of Alabasta where Crocodile holds absolute elemental advantage they'd likely perish. After all, the desert is not only Crocodile's natural environment, but also amplifies the power of his Suna Suna no Mi (Sand-Sand Fruit). Here, his ability to dehydrate anything he touches and freely manipulate sand turns the battlefield into a deathtrap.

But alas, Rin is no ordinary pirate.

With the power of the Pika Pika no Mi (Glint-Glint Fruit), Rin moves at the speed of light, making all of Crocodile's large-scale sand-based attacks almost useless. Combined with Armament Haki (Busoshoku Haki) and Observation Haki (Kenbunshoku Haki), Rin has no fear.

At that moment

A massive sandstorm, conjured by Crocodile's Sables, swept toward Rin with destructive force, enough to strip flesh from bone. However, Rin didn't hesitate. In the blink of an eye, his body transformed into golden light and shot into the sky, completely evading the sandstorm's deadly reach.

Hovering above, Rin launched a counterattack.

"Yasakani no Magatama!"

With hands raised, countless light particles condensed and accelerated photons rained from the sky, bombarding Crocodile's location in a continuous barrage.

Seeing this, Crocodile's expression shifted, and his body instantly dispersed into sand, trying to blend with the desert below and avoid damage. However, the sheer area of effect from the light bombardment made it difficult to escape completely unscathed.

Boom!

Boom!

Explosions rocked the dunes.

Even hidden within the sand, Crocodile couldn't completely avoid the damage. Some of the light projectiles struck close enough to wound him, causing his chest to tighten as he coughed up blood.

When the assault finally ceased, Crocodile emerged from the sand his face pale, blood trailing from his mouth, and his cloak half-buried.

"Tch… looks like you won't last much longer," Rin mocked, floating calmly in the sky like a divine executioner.

"Hmph. Don't get cocky. I'm not done yet!" Crocodile growled, thrusting his right hand forward.

"Ground Death: Crescent Sand Dunes!"

A wide crescent-shaped sand blade razor sharp and imbued with the power of desiccation shot toward Rin. A direct hit would drain all bodily moisture, reducing a man to a husk.

But Rin once again transformed into light and dodged effortlessly, reappearing behind Crocodile.

"I already told you. You can't beat me."

With that, Rin delivered a spinning kick infused with Armament Haki.

Bang!

Crocodile's body smashed into the sand dunes, a spray of blood erupting from his mouth.

"Urgh…" Crocodile groaned, struggling to his feet. Even in his pride, he now understood prolonging the battle would only lead to death.

Just as Rin prepared to finish him off

"Wait!" Crocodile raised his hand in desperation.

"Oh?" Rin paused mid-air, eyes narrowing. "Looking to beg for mercy?"

Crocodile wiped the blood from his lips. "No. I'll trade information for my life."

Rin's eyes gleamed with cold amusement. "Depends. What kind of information?"

Without hesitation, Crocodile said, "It's about Pluton—one of the ancient weapons. I have intel about where it might be located."

Crocodile's face was confident. He believed this bombshell would sway Rin.

But reality is cruel.

Rin stared back with a smirk. Pluton?

"Let me guess… you're talking about the Poneglyph hidden in the Royal Tombs of Alubarna, right?" Rin's voice was laced with mockery.

Crocodile's eyes widened in disbelief. "How… how do you know that?! That information was buried for centuries! Even the World Government has yet to confirm"

"What's so impossible about me knowing?" Rin cut him off. "You act like you're the only one with eyes and ears."

"And seriously? You think a single warship no matter how powerful can help you rule the world? You underestimate the scale of the seas."

Rin didn't hide his contempt. While Pluton, an ancient battleship capable of destroying islands, was a formidable threat—it was still just one tool in a much larger game. If the World Government truly cared, they would've deployed an Admiral to Water 7 for the blueprints. Instead, they sent CP9, showing how little weight they placed on Pluton's potential.

At this point, Rin had no more patience for Crocodile.

His gaze turned icy. Killing intent surged like a blade.

"You've played your final card. It didn't work. Now die."

"Hmph! If I'm dying, I'll take you with me!" Crocodile roared, flinging his arm forward.

"Desert Spada!"

A wave of compressed sand shaped like a jagged blade slashed through the air toward Rin.

But Rin once again evaded, flashing behind his opponent in an instant.

With a low hum

Boom!

He drew the Raijin Blade, its edge crackling with lightning and coated in dense Haki.

"Thunder Judgment…"

Shlick

The blade cleaved through Crocodile's head, shattering his sand form at its core—bypassing his elemental body with pure Haki force.

Crocodile's body froze.

A gust of desert wind blew past as the once-feared Warlord collapsed.

The battle was over.
