Hearing Vivi's sudden scream, King Nefertari Cobra swiftly turned around his eyes instantly locking onto Rin. He was visibly alarmed and instinctively opened his mouth to shout, "Guards!"
But before he could utter another word, Rin, who had already anticipated his reaction, raised his right hand. A glowing golden lightsaber, condensed from pure energy, hovered inches from Cobra's throat.
"Shut up," Rin said coldly, his tone emotionless.
Cobra froze, sweat beading at his brow. Swallowing nervously, he still stood his ground and said firmly, "Who are you? What is your purpose here? If it's something we can discuss, then please just don't harm my daughter."
As he spoke, Cobra stepped in front of Vivi, shielding her behind him protectively.
Seeing this, Rin merely smirked and gave a slight shrug. "Relax. I'm not here to kill you—I just came to talk."
"Talk about what?" Cobra asked, still cautious.
"I want you to help me find someone."
"Who?"
"Krokodile," Rin replied calmly.
Hearing that name, Cobra's brows furrowed. "Why should I help you? And why would you trust me to help you in the first place?"
"Oh, but you will help me," Rin said with a sly smile. "Your royal family… you're guarding one of the Poneglyphs, aren't you?"
Cobra's eyes widened in shock. "How do you know about that?"
The astonishment on his face was clear this was knowledge known only to the royal family of Alabasta, passed down in secrecy for generations.
Seeing his reaction, Rin chuckled. "Not only do I know about the Poneglyph, but Krokodile does too. He believes it holds the location of the Ancient Weapon—Pluton. If he's set his eyes on it and plans to seize the Poneglyph after years of lurking in this country, just imagine the consequences. So, do you understand how serious this is now?"
Cobra was stunned.
A cold sweat broke out across his temples.
He had never considered the possibility that such secret knowledge might have leaked let alone that a pirate like Krokodile, one of the Shichibukai, might be planning to weaponize it. And if he spread this information or acted on it, it could plunge the entire nation into chaos.
After all, Pluton wasn't just a myth it was one of the three Ancient Weapons said to possess the power to destroy entire islands.
But Cobra was no fool. After a moment's silence, he asked cautiously, "So what is your goal, then? If you also know of Pluton… how do I know you aren't after the weapon as well?"
"Pfft," Rin scoffed, a look of contempt in his eyes. "That kind of weapon? I don't need it. I'm here to find Krokodile and kill him. You help me find him, I'll handle the rest. Simple. We both benefit."
Cobra narrowed his eyes in thought.
Behind him, the young Vivi clung to her father's cloak, fear written all over her face. She didn't dare to make a sound.
A long silence passed before Cobra finally replied, "Very well… I'll help you. But if I even suspect that you harbor intentions toward this country.know that Alabasta won't be so easy to take."
It was a clear warning.
Rin rolled his eyes, not bothering to hide his disdain. "Relax. Alabasta's not on my radar. I've got no interest in kingdoms."
"Fine," Cobra said after a moment, voice low. "When I find Krokodile's location, I'll send up a flare in the sky at night. Watch for it."
Without waiting for another word, Rin turned into golden light and vanished from the room.
Cobra's pupils contracted in shock. "A Logia… Natural-type Devil Fruit user!"

Outside the palace, Rin soared through the night sky.
He wasn't worried about Cobra failing to cooperate. As a king, Cobra would understand the threat of an enemy lurking in the shadows. If he had even a shred of political awareness, he'd know that eliminating Krokodile was crucial to protecting Alabasta.
Returning to the hotel, Rin quietly entered his room and sat cross-legged on the bed.
