Lila kept on calling her parents and sister but no response it was as if they suddenly vanished into thin air. What is going on? She mused and sat helplessly on the couch.
She will give them till evening and if they didn't come,
She had no choice but to report to the king so they could look for her family. She sat down there for some minutes before going to the room to check on her snake which she had hidden under the bed.
In River sile, in the hut,
Mrs Fraser was slowly sipping her cinnamon tea as her mind played what had happened yesterday and she subconsciously choked on the tea before placing it down on the floor.
She will wait for her sister so they profer a solution to this utter madness. She had been sitting here for hours and she wasn't back yet. Well, she will wait and if she can't go back home today, she will pass the night in her sister's house. She thought before taking the cup of cinnamon tea and finishing it in one go. No matter what, she won't let's her daughters stray.
While she in the hut, she suddenly heard a knock and stood up to open the door only to see an average old man standing. He was not too young nor too old. He was in the middle.
His greyish long hair cascaded down his waist like an angel. His lips curved into a wide smile on who he saw.
"Linda!" He said and pulled her in for a hug.
Mrs Fraser was too stunned to react and when she finally reacted, she pulled away and asked for confirmation,
"Mr Rodger?"
The man whose name was Mr Rodger nodded happily at her first remembering his name. It has been such a long time since they last saw each other.
"It's been such a decades". He finally said walking inside and sat on the floor. There was no chair except one stool which was reserved for Mrs Fraser.
Mrs Fraser said yes and went to sit on the stool.
"So how are you and the girl?" He asked.
"I think you mean my daughters". Mrs Fraser said with polite smile.
"Hmmm..." Mr Rodger didn't say anything and after a while, he spoke,
"Have you heard of the royal witches?"
"Yes, Reese went cause they are having a meeting". She replied casually.
Mr Rodger stared at her calmly, it seems Reese hadn't told her yet, before revealing,
"Reese is the head of the royal witches. So she sent me here to deliver a message to you ".
Mrs Fraser eyes widened in disbelief as she couldn't believe that her sister was the head of royal witches. She still thought her sister was just a mere witch spell caster. She didn't know she had become the head of royal witches.
She pursed her lips before asking,
"So before I told her about what I'm facing, she already knew".
"Yes. What you told her can not be avoided. It has to happen..." He let his words trail off as he waited for her to absorb the news.
She furrowed her brows, confused.
Then as if something clicked in her mind, she asked,
"Does this mean before...." She didn't know how to put it so she paused but Mr Rodger helped her and complete her words,
"... before the sacrifice, they must be betrothed and not just to any one, but a super natural being. "
Mrs Fraser gritted her teeth angrily. So what she has been trying to prevent from happening is beginning to happen. No, this is bad.
"Just let it flow. Don't do anything rash to provoke the vampires. If not the vampires will suspect about the existence of witches in Valtenia kingdom. " Mr Rodger said calmly and Mrs Fraser had no choice to obey.
For them to protect the witches, she must accept everything. With that, she smiled and thanked the man.
"I will come back soon. Let start taking my leave". She stood up and bid farewell to the man while the man just smiled at her as he watch her leave. The moment she left, the smile on his face falter as he snapped his fingers and Reese suddenly appeared out of thin air.
"He has been freed by her". Reese said coldly.
"You mean the silver eyes man?" He asked.
"Yes, and you know what that means, this is totally bad. If I had known something like this will happen now, I wouldn't have helped Linda to save them. I should have allowed them to die." She said gnashing her teeth fiercely.
Mr Rodger just smiled.
"Lets not dwell on the past and look for ways to hide him back. His coming back isn't a good nor pleasant one. "
"You're right, lets not dwell on the past and just watch how everything unfold. "
After their conversation, Mr Rodger went back to his home while Reese left her hut to go source for some herbal mixture.
Two hours later,
Mrs Fraser finally arrived home and went inside plumping her butts on the couch.
Lila who had been in her room taking care of the snake heard the little rustle quickly placed the snake back inside the wooden box before putting it back under the bed and left the room thinking one of her family is back and she was equally stunned when she saw her mother.
"Mother!" Lila called out to her happily and rushed to hug her but stopped mid way when Mrs Fraser ignored her.
She pursed her lips hard not knowing what to do at that moment. She hated the fact that her mum was angry at her , and from anger to resentment and everlasting hatred.
"Julian brought me home". She said with a small voice and this finally caught her attention.
"Why are you now telling me? Didn't I warn you from the beginning? What did I tell you about not visiting the vampires castle?" Her mother snapped at her angrily and frustratedly.
Angry at the fact that her daughter disobeyed her and also frustrated at the fact that her sister, Reese said she to let things flow not complicate things any further.
