"Who should stop appearing in your dreams?" A familiar female voice jolted her back to reality and it was none other than her very own sister, Lila.
Evelyn froze the moment she heard her sister's voice.
I'm talking to you. Lila said walking towards the window to open the curtains, to let the sun In. It was already morning.
"Oh no, when did morning arrive? Have she been lost in thoughts for so long that she didn't realize when the night ended? Or did the silver eyes stranger did something to her?
Lila turned away from the window and went to sit in front of her sister.
"Eve, you know you can talk to me". Her sister said in a urged manner.
Should she just tell her sister about the silver eyes stranger that has been appearing in her dreams? Well not all the time, but thrice in a row. She thought a d slowly shook her head.
Just as she was about to respond to her sister, she heard that familiar voice again for the second time,"keep it to your self".
Evelyn froze for a moment but she quickly mask it up with a bright smile when she noticed her sister giving her a weird look.
"Why are you been so dull and inattentive?" Her sister asked pissed.
Evelyn quickly stood up and went to place her hand in her sister's shoulder.
Big sis, it's just that I have been dreaming about ghosts haunting me. Evelyn replied. Even though it was a part truth and a part lie. The lie of ghosts haunting her and the truth of someone being haunting her who isn't a ghost but a silver eyes stranger.
Lila stared at her sister for a very long time with a raised eye brow as though she didn't believe what Evelyn had said.
What? ! Why are you staring at me as if I said something untrue? Evelyn asked with a slight worry marred on her face.
And the next words that left Lila's mouth was,
"It's because you are lying".
Evelyn eyes widened for a brief moment before she quickly shake her head.
Oh come on, why would I lie? Evelyn said with a small chuckle trying to elevate the tense mood in the room.
"Uhm, don't worry I was just kidding with you. I don't want you to feel bothered and unattended to. So please feel free to express what ever is bothering you to me. I'm your sister". Lila coaxed her.
Evelyn smiled and Lila returned the smile back.
"Let me quickly go and have my bath and join you guys for my breakfast ". Evelyn said and and Lila just smiled and walked out the room. Once Lila was gone, Evelyn breath a sigh of relief. She was scared to death the moment her sister had said she was lying. If her sister, even for once finds out that she was communicating with a silver eyes stranger, every one in the village will think she is mad and her parents won't hesitate to send her back to Aunt Reese for some girly training on how a lady should behave. This is what she always hated.
The fact that a woman should always behave lady like as always was something she didn't like as she had always wished she do things that normal people do. But her aunt Reese had made her parents forced them to listen to what their aunt Reese had taught them about being a lady like at all times.
She walked into the bathroom and slowly took off her clothes, and went to turn on the tap to allow water fill in the bathtub to the brim. Even though they weren't too rich, at least they weren't too poor that they couldn't get anything they want based on their wants and needs.
After filling the bath tub up, she slowly slid inside the cold water, taking the soap to smear it on her skin. She began rubbing the soap all over her body until her body became foamy. Just as she was about to sink her whole self into the tub, she heard something fall loudly.
Her eyes quickly widened open in horror as she quickly came out of the bath tub with bubbles of soapy water trailing behind her.
She fetched a bucket of water and quickly rinsed her body before tying her towel and came out of the bathroom. On reaching the room, she was surprised not to see anything broken on the floor. But she heard a noise as though something had fallen.
"Looking for what's broken?" She heard that same familiar voice that sent that same familiar tingling sensation into her skin, that was slowly unknowingly tempting her into the calling darkness that he belongs to.
She froze in horror as the silver eyes stranger had not only seen her in towel but half her body, her bare legs and neck. Sh was about to slow turn when she heard his familiar deep husky voice again, "don't look back for now". He said and Evelyn, for some reason obeyed. She didn't know why she obeyed but she saw her self obeying. Is it because he didn't want to see her body? Or....?
No. It isn't that I don't want to see your body. He said and Evelyn almost fainted out of shock. Did he just reply to her questions that she was thinking?
Yes. He replied to her mind question.
Can you please stop replying to my mind question it's quite uncomfortable. She said genuinely and a firm voice.
I can't help it. He said with a soft voice that sents tingles down her skin. Evelyn could feel her warm blood hovering her face and she knew he knew the effects his words had on her.
The only way to stop this man from making her embarrassed or her whole body heating up unnecessarily, she will have to divert the topic that concerns her.
"Were you the one that made something break?" She asked with a serious voice hoping he won't give her the opposite answer to the question she asked.
