Lucien pulled out the key and stepped out of the car. Though he hadn't uncovered anything suspicious during his search, a nagging thought refused to leave him, the enigma could still be hiding within the very pack.
As he entered the mansion, he was met with a courteous bow from the house butler, who had clearly been waiting.
"What are you doing up at this hour?" Lucien asked, briefly glancing at his watch. It was past midnight.
"Alpha," the butler began, "I stayed awake to inform you that Miss Leia has allowed Greta to stay in the servants' quarters tonight."
Lucien's brows furrowed the moment he heard the name. "Greta? She's here?"
"Yes, Alpha," the butler confirmed. "She came seeking Miss Leia. According to what I overheard, Greta pleaded for another chance. Miss Leia chose to let her stay for the night, at least. I was told the rest would be explained to you in the morning, but I thought it best you were informed immediately."
