I wasn't expecting that reaction from him. $500,000 seems like a lot to someone like Tyler, but to me? It's nothing just another drop in the ocean of my wealth. Hell, it's pocket change, something I probably waste on skincare in a month.
I could hear Elvin shrug from the backseat. "Oh, please, that's nothing." He added with a dismissive scoff, "But of course, it's something for people like you."
Tyler, however, shot him a look. A glare that was sharp, his body stiffening as if the comment had actually cut deeper than intended.
I couldn't help but grin. This whole back-and-forth, this tension between them, was intoxicating. I used to hate it.hell, I was annoyed by it. But now? Now, it makes me laugh. They're so similar in some ways, yet different in others. And right now, I think I prefer one over the other.
