Following Luppi Antenor's Resurrección, his appearance changed subtly compared to Yammy Llargo's; however, eight cylindrical white tentacles sprouted from his back.
These tentacles, approximately five to six meters long, writhed and swayed with unsettling agility. From a distance, Luppi resembled a giant spider.
Upon witnessing Luppi's transformed state, Yammy jeered, "Is that your Resurrección? Just eight noodle-like tentacles!"
A flash of cold fury crossed Luppi's eyes. "Yammy-sama, let me show you their power!"
With those words, Luppi initiated a swift, descending attack on Yammy.
Yammy retaliated with a crimson Cero, but Luppi effortlessly evaded it.
Closing the distance, Luppi unleashed a Resurrección-enhanced attack.
"Trepadora: Lanza Tentáculo!"
The eight tentacles, previously appearing soft and boneless, instantly stiffened into spear-like weapons, each tip sharpened to a deadly point. They assaulted Yammy from eight different directions.
Yammy's immense size made evasion impossible; he could only brace himself, his massive arms reaching upward to try and deflect Luppi's tentacles.
A deafening crash echoed as Yammy managed to seize two tentacles aimed at his chest. However, his tough hide offered no protection against the other six, which pierced his body, creating massive wounds. Blood gushed from Yammy's wounds.
The sight was gruesome.
"Aaaaaah!!!"
With a roar of agony, Yammy violently yanked the two tentacles he held, tearing them from Luppi's back. Blood spurted from the wounds.
Luppi cried out in pain, but, sensing his continued advantage, he gritted his teeth and unleashed another ability.
"Trepadora: Jaula Tentáculo!"
Sharp poison barbs instantly extended from the tips of the tentacles embedded in Yammy's body.
Several tentacles had already pierced Yammy's tough hide; the newly-emerged poison barbs caused catastrophic internal damage, severely injuring him.
Yammy coughed up a large amount of blood, his eyes rolling back. He appeared unconscious, the fight effectively over.
With a heavy thud, Yammy's massive body crashed to the side, creating a large crater in the arena floor and kicking up a massive cloud of dust.
Luppi, however, showed no mercy. Two new tentacles regenerated from the wounds Yammy had inflicted. These two tentacles fused, forming a single, spiritually charged spike at their tip, aimed directly at Yammy's head.
The motionless Yammy was defenseless. This attack would be fatal even for his resilient body.
At that critical moment, a dark light flashed, and a slender figure appeared beside Yammy. This figure, with one hand in his pocket and the other outstretched, effortlessly stopped the tentacle's tip with his palm.
It was as if the spike had struck steel, not flesh.
Ulquiorra Cifer, the 4th Espada, had arrived to save Yammy.
"Luppi Antenor, this contest is over. You have won," Ulquiorra stated calmly.
Luppi licked his lips. "The 4th Espada, Ulquiorra-sama. Indeed, far stronger than Yammy-sama. But my killing blow wasn't limited to that single barb, oh!"
At that moment, Ulquiorra sensed a spiritual pressure surge within Yammy, not from Yammy himself, but from Luppi.
Luppi, seeing his head attack failed, planned to manipulate the embedded barbs to inflict further, potentially debilitating, damage, possibly even causing regression.
Ulquiorra's eyes flashed coldly. He swiftly drew his sword from his pocket. The movement was too fast for most to see; only two flashes of light were observed before his sword was resheathed.
"Impossible!" Luppi's eyes widened in disbelief.
Blood sprayed into the air; all eight of Luppi's tentacles were severed.
"In Lord Yusuke's presence, attempting to kill a fellow member of Las Noches is unforgivable!" Ulquiorra declared coldly.
With impossible speed, Ulquiorra used Sonído to reach Luppi, pinning him to the ground.
The audience was shocked. Luppi, who had almost crushed Yammy, was easily subdued. The disparity between the 4th and 10th Espada was stark.
"Tch—Ulquiorra's decisive, I wanted to teach that guy a lesson. But he's sneaky, making up an excuse before attacking," Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez chuckled.
Harribel, the 3rd Espada, said gravely, "You think Ulquiorra acted out of spite? He protected his comrade. Even if he hadn't, I would have."
Ulquiorra knelt before Yusuke, his right hand on his chest, his left pinning Luppi to the ground.
"Lord Yusuke, I apologize for my unauthorized intervention; Yammy's life was in danger," Ulquiorra said respectfully.
Yusuke smiled. "Ulquiorra, you did well, but you may release Luppi now."
Ulquiorra released Luppi, who immediately stood, glaring at Ulquiorra.
