Kakashi quickly noticed Sasuke and Naruto's expressions and immediately understood their thoughts.
"You two don't think summoning animals are only for fighting, do you? That's completely wrong! Fighting is just one use.
Many strong ninjas don't rely on summoning animals in battle; they're mostly for support!"
Kakashi explained seriously.
Sasuke understood, but he was still disappointed.
It's normal for boys that age to want cool summoning animals, especially since his two friends already had powerful ones, increasing Sasuke's desire for a strong summoning animal.
While Yota was playing with Pakkun, Naruto sniffed the air, his expression turning serious.
"I smell Sakura!"
Naruto still liked Sakura very much and often teased her.
With his keen sense of smell, he had a strong impression of Sakura's scent.
After sniffing around, Naruto discovered that the scent was coming from Pakkun, which surprised him greatly. He immediately began to observe Pakkun closely.
However, after observing for a long time, Naruto couldn't find any clues. He never imagined that Pakkun and Sakura used the same shampoo .
"It must be my imagination!" Naruto shook his head, dismissing the thought.
"Hey, what are you guys doing? Isn't that Pakkun? Long time no see!"
Just then, Yakumo, who was passing by, saw the group and curiously approached them.
Seeing Yakumo, Sasuke explained his search for a summoning animal.
Yakumo stroked her chin, musing, "A summoning animal, huh? Come to think of it, I don't have one either!"
Patting Sasuke on the head, Yakumo smiled, "Don't worry. When Kabuto comes back, I'll ask him to let you sign his summoning scroll."
Sasuke's face lit up, then he looked worried, "Will my summoning animal be as cool as Naruto's toad or Yota's slug?"
"That's a slug, not a booger!" Yota protested.
Yakumo smiled, "It's one of those two. Kabuto has summoning scrolls from Mount Myōboku (toads) and Shikkotsu Forest (slugs)."
Sasuke immediately said, "I'll take the toad. A slug is weird!"
Naruto triumphantly winked at Yota, who didn't see it because of his sunglasses.
"Naruto, why are you still wearing those sunglasses? They don't suit you!"
Yakumo said, exasperated but amused.
Naruto snorted, "I'll never take them off!"
Yakumo raised an eyebrow, a strange smile on her face, "Oh, the other day at the dumpling shop, I overheard Sakura and some girls talking, and they were commenting on your sunglasses!"
Naruto eagerly asked, "Really? Sakura talked about me? What did she think? Did she think I looked cool?"
Yakumo shook her head, smiling, "They said you look uglier with them!"
Hearing Yakumo, Naruto immediately took off his sunglasses and put them in his pocket. Kakashi, who had just failed to persuade Naruto, rolled his eyes.
After the kids left, Kakashi curiously asked Yakumo, "Did Sakura really talk about Naruto?"
Yakumo laughed, "Of course not. They were talking about Sasuke."
Later that afternoon, Yakumo went to Yusuke's office. Yusuke was still in Sunagakure, but his crow clone, Genya, was there.
Genya knew Yakumo was looking for him.
A space-time vortex appeared; Genya vanished. Seconds later, it reappeared, Genya now perched on Yusuke's shoulder.
"Brother, I still don't have a summoning animal!" Yakumo said, pouting.
Yusuke raised an eyebrow, "You don't seem to need one."
Yakumo pouted, "Not needing one and not having one are different!"
Yusuke sighed, took out a summoning scroll, and showed it to Yakumo, "I have a powerful summoning beast. Sign the contract."
This was the scroll he used to summon the Shinigami. It was a master-servant contract, not an equal one, so he wasn't worried about the Shinigami controlling Yakumo.
Yakumo happily signed and pressed her thumbprint onto the scroll.
After signing, Yakumo asked, "Brother, what is your summoning beast?"
Yusuke smiled, "It's not exactly a summoning beast; it's more of a summoning demon. Summon it and find out."
Yusuke demonstrated the hand seals, and Yakumo followed.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
After completing the seals, Yusuke canceled his, and Yakumo summoned.
Smoke billowed, and the tall Shinigami appeared before Yakumo. Its translucent body and terrifying face showed it was unusual.
Yusuke was slightly smug. Only he could summon the Shinigami in the entire ninja world, "This is the legendary Shinigami. It's very powerful. If an enemy is caught, its soul will be devoured. Use this jutsu carefully."
Yakumo frowned, "It's not cute at all!"
Yusuke facepalmed; the Shinigami, who understood human language, looked embarrassed.
"Thanks, brother!" Yakumo thanked Yusuke and happily left, leaving Yusuke and the Shinigami staring at each other.
