Chapter 16 - Night time Analysis

Arthur pov

Argus pov

Third person pov

Today was Friday, on this day there was no soap opera to go over so I had to simply tuck back into my own bed to reflect on my thoughts and what had happened today.

Although what I learned from Ramiel wasn't much, what little she did give was quite sufficient to give me a basis for my next inspection and research tomorrow.

From what I had gathered. Ray didn't actually talk about mercelle a lot. Though he did mention Mark at times it was little enough to be not given much thought.

Hell, it seemed like the guy always tried to keep his past life behind him. No from what she said it was more so that thinking about it made him feel a sense of Anguish.

He was quite the cheerful man, although his sadness wasn't much veiled since Ramiel and Rall along with some other people were able to see through it very easily after some time passes.

I wonder why such a man committed suicide? He did say that he didn't like putting Mercelle's life out for the public to read was the reason...but really? I can somewhat understand how much guilt a person could feel over doing something awful as that, yes.

But still...

What happened in Lagandra that this had come to be this way? Ray could write about a whole lot of other things so why had he only written about Mercelle and Mark?

Arthur:"ha..."

I sighed out loud.

Even Rall seemed to have been heavily scarred by what happened. I wish I could know more about Lagandra. But there was too much limited information that was ever leaked from Lagandra. Besides that, I wasn't even let inside the third stage of the library where the possible end of lagandra described in a book could be found.

The Library known simply as 'Tapestry of Knowledge' or also as Simdall Library is the greatest and also the main library of the Empire. The Lavestia Empire is an Empire that, like almost any country, Worshipped knowledge and Creativity.

Either way, Information is the strongest weapon and so they held most of the knowledge of the world inside Simdall. Along with The Archgenia, the greatest record in existence while also being the greatest of Relics.

There were three main stages of the library and a ground floor.

Each stage up had more and more secretive or dangerous information held inside and as the knowledge seeking and history nut I was, I couldn't help but try my best to read everything I could. Even then...

I wasn't let in to the 3rd stage. Hell, beside my father who was a Duke and everyone else in the same rank, there was little to none who were ever allowed to enter the third stage of the library, besides of course the imperial family.

...Well more precisely the emperor or the crown children...

father...

Arthur:"hm...tck."

I found my hand shaking under the blanket and my eyes already feeling a certain wetness that was seemingly ready to come out.

Calm down.

I heard Argus's voice once more, I could feel my senses calm down after hearing him.

Thank you.

Your welcome.

Sighing to myself I turned on the bed to become more comfortable as I begin to again analyze my thoughts.

Apparently there were only twelve who made it here and only 7 who survived the aftermath. The other 5 were apparently already sick and died. This was told to Ramiel by her husband Rall.

Also, I was able to learn that Ramiel was actually a helper that built Dalumen. Though she had arrived atleast ten years after the start she was the one to develop the village to be better then it could have been and apparently, like all others, she was infatuated by the scenery and decided to make this place her new home.

On a side note, I was quite surprised to find out that she was actually a run away.

Unfortunately, this did make her have less information than she would have had if she was at the beginning of the construction.

She also gave a very lucrative information. It was that the Sickness spread in Lagandra had a perpetrator.

This sent me to a shock, I don't know why but her being calm and telling me this felt odd.

Wasn't this really important!? Did she tell the emperor or higher officials? Did they actually know already?

They probably could have, though i was a bit dumbfounded after she told me that it was a deduction she made today while talking to me.

How did she not realize this for so long? I suppose Aunt Ramiel was someone that had always been a bit of a carefree and happy-go-lucky person.

This was all that I learned from her, I also learned a bit about the other six beside her husband that survived but they weren't that important right now.

Now, for the next step.

So we can finally talk about the recruiting thing? Took you long enough you sloth!

I didn't answer nor rebuke him, there was no retort really. I just asked him

Arthur:"Why do you think we need to recruit people for our cause?"

I was just asking him, it was obvious that he knew.

Because we can't have revenge against that old geezer by ourselves.

Argus sounded tense while saying so.

I clenched my fists tightly at Argus mentioning that bastard before speaking again.

This time I had a shallow voice that was cold and...almost on the verge of tears maybe?

Argus:"Do you think I care about revenge? Do you think I can care about saving them? I know that your pep talk helped me a lot. But the true REASON I didn't let myself cease to exist is because you exist-"

I immediately felt a thrung in my heart as I felt a sensible haze in my head about Argus.

The room felt claustrophobically silent.

Argus felt empty for a moment before returning back.

The immersion was momentarily flickering.

I shot up with a sharp gasp, my heart beating heavily as I began heaving.

My mouth felt empty, too empty.

I quickly shoved both hands into my mouth and bit them lightly. My mouth didn't feel as empty.

I removed my hands from inside my mouth and cleaned the saliva off.

That was disgusting.

Arthur:"...I know. I don't think I ever want to do that again."

You better not, that felt disgusting to the touch and even worse to watch.

Arthur didn't question it.

I just Sat there for a moment before grabbing a water bottle on the side to drink.

I gulped down half of the water inside it before capping it and throwing it to the side.

Don't you have any manners? Do you not respect-पानी तुम दुश्मन!

Argus had accidentally changed his language to hindi now,It was a very awkward and wrong change, it was Spanish before and he had accidentally even spoken in French. I wondered if he would just straight up make up a language at somepoint.

Arthur:" I guess I would need friends to use either way."

Friends to use? How villainous. Like hell you will. Your more of a dumbass that can't even hurt a fly, even anything that bites.

I scoffed at his words, he was obviously pointing out the fact that I saved Lady will despite her being the one that was trying to kill me.

Lady will again you simp?

...

Arthur:"You know, I am a guy that can handle many insults but being called a simp isn't one of them!."

I am definitely gonna learn how to hurt him with my mind!

Looks like someone is in dire need of some nightmare lessons huh?

You bastard you wouldn't! Not again!

Arthur had accidentally started to just think inside his head.

You fu*king asshole I will make sure to give you nightmares, so many that you would start questioning if you were even real!

Wasn't I a hallucination from the start you Schizo?

THAT'S EXACTLY THE POINT YOU RAG!

in that way the night went by and tomorrow came.
