Chapter 430 - Chapter 430: The Bloody Massacre

[Chapter 430: The Bloody Massacre]

Just as Hillary had predicted, this family, built on ruthless bloodshed and plunder, hadn't changed their ways one bit. Their style remained as cold-blooded and brutal as ever.

They didn't hesitate to unleash physical annihilation on their rivals. Now, they've even had the audacity to threaten him directly. Clearly, they're tired of living.

Over the next couple of days, Linton focused his mental awareness on this threat, curious to see if they truly dared to act without limits. If they did involve the local gangs from the Yakuza, he wouldn't hesitate to strike first and open a ruthless purge.

Yet Hillary was right to warn: this family couldn't be underestimated. Killing Edgar Bronfman Jr. would likely trigger a frenzy of revenge from Bronfman Sr. himself. Linton didn't mind personally, but what about his estate, Lina, and all the women he cared about?

It was clear some additional preparations were necessary.

---

"Danny, get in touch with the LAPD. Have the security company procure a batch of heavy defense weapons to deploy at the estate. Make sure the security team familiarizes themselves quickly and that the estate's defenses are reinforced."

"Boss, did something happen?"

"Nothing yet. Just be prepared."

"Got it. Consider it done."

---

Defense alone wouldn't suffice. The saying went: You can be careful all you want -- it only takes one mistake.

"David, I just faxed you the data. Study it carefully and prepare an assault plan."

"Boss, is there an operation planned?"

"Yes. There's an estate in downtown Montreal, Canada, and a rural farm. If I get into an uncontrollable conflict with them, I want you to strike there as quickly as possible and obliterate everything. A heads-up: the farm is guarded by about 50 well-equipped armed men."

According to Hillary's info, the Bronfman armed force on the farm numbered about a hundred. But if Edgar died in Tokyo, Bronfman Sr. would undoubtedly send elite forces for revenge there.

No more than half would remain at the farm, which meant David's team could seize the opportunity to wipe them out completely. As for those who came to Tokyo -- if they dared show up, none of them would be leaving.

"Understood. I'll get the assault plan ready ASAP."

"That's settled. I won't micromanage the details; you're in full charge. Starting tomorrow, arrange for personnel and weapons to infiltrate in advance. Wait for my signal before moving."

"We, the Thunder Guards, won't fail the mission."

---

Three days later, in Linton's awareness, a new guest had checked into the Four Seasons hotel: a man in his fifties, with the air of a butler, caught his attention.

Organized by the Seagram staff, he settled into his room, unpacked briefly, and then headed to Edgar Bronfman's suite.

"Master, I've arrived."

"Uncle Jack! You finally made it."

"What's the situation? What do you need me to handle?"

"I came to Tokyo to negotiate the acquisition of Universal, but I've encountered great resistance."

"Resistance? Who dares to stand in your way?"

"It's not just opposition -- someone else has their eyes on Universal too. They've submitted a bid to Matsushita Electronics and opened negotiations. Now, with two buyers, Matsushita's holding out for an even better deal and refusing to budge. Talks are stalled."

"Who's this competitor that dares challenge you?"

"I've met him -- Hollywood director and star, Linton Anderson."

"A mere celebrity. Don't worry, Master. I'll have someone warn him, and he'll slink away."

"Uncle Jack, that won't work. I confronted him two days ago and issued an ultimatum: he must leave Tokyo by today, or face lethal consequences. Yet so far, there's no sign they're leaving. Looks like he doesn't take me seriously."

"Seems like the Bronfmans' reputation has faded with our inactivity. What's our next move?"

"If they don't fear death, then we'll grant them their wish -- leave all of them in Tokyo."

"Alright, I'm with you. But since we can't easily bring our armed men here, why not contact the local Yakuza, the Yamaguchi-gumi? Let them take care of it."

"That's exactly why I called you. I want you to reach out to the Yamaguchi-gumi and have their hitmen eliminate the targets. At the very least, kill Anderson. I've got $10 million in cash ready."

"Consider it done. I'll bring $5 million as a deposit now, and pay the remainder after the job's done."

"Thanks, Uncle Jack."

...

Linton's anger boiled after listening to this. Damn it, this guy was serious -- planning to hire killers to violently eliminate his competition.

Fine. He wanted to see if the local gangs were really this reckless, daring enough to take on a hit this bold.

His mental observation continued. Uncle Jack picked up the phone.

...

"Is this Mr. Miyamoto? This is Jack Harris from Canada."

"I'm in Tokyo with a big deal I want to discuss."

"One hour from now, meet me at the Maple Tea House in Shinjuku."

Jack hung up. "Master, the meeting's set. Have Guli and James accompany me."

"Here's $5 million. I'm counting on you."

...

Linton had mentally sentenced them all to death, but he'd see exactly how bold this Yamaguchi-gumi was. If they were going to kill, they might as well take everyone out. After all, Shinjuku wasn't far, and his coverage was more than enough.

---

An hour later, Jack arrived at the Maple Tea House in Shinjuku. In a private room, he met a sharply dressed man with bodyguards, who looked more like a corporate executive than a gangster.

"Long time no see, Mr. Miyamoto."

"Times have changed, Mr. Harris."

Their bodyguards were sent out, leaving just Jack and Koji Miyamoto inside.

"The big deal you mentioned on the phone?"

"I want you to help me kill someone." Jack pulled a photo from his pocket.

"Isn't that Hollywood star Linton Anderson?"

"Good, you know him. He's the target."

"Old friend, that won't work. He's a world-famous star. Killing him would cause an uproar I can't handle."

"I'm offering $10 million. Will you do it?"

"$10 million? Seriously?"

"Absolutely. I'll give you $5 million deposit now and pay the other half once he's dead. I'm staying at the Four Seasons."

"I need his location intel."

"No problem. He's in the presidential suite on the 16th floor of the Hilton, right here in Tokyo."

"Deal. The job's done within three days."

"Agreed."

They summoned the bodyguards back, and Jack had them open a briefcase full of cash for counting.

---

Suddenly, a faint sound came from the window. A small hole appeared as a flying blade shot through. Sparks of steel whirled, and in an instant, all six men in the room were decapitated, collapsing in pools of blood. The photo Jack held vanished with the blade.

Linton could no longer hold back his fury. They truly dared to take his life. He wouldn't spare anyone -- everyone needed to die.

Minutes later, in the Four Seasons Presidential Suite, a flash of steel -- Edgar Bronfman was also decapitated, lifeless in a pool of blood.

Across various rooms in the hotel, every one of Edgar's guards met the same fate: decapitated without exception.

...

Afterward, Linton picked up the phone. "Danny, keep the estate on the highest alert."

"Understood. No problems will arise."

...

He called Hillary next. "Step one of the operation's complete."

"Got it. Our side is progressing smoothly. Everything proceeds as planned."

...

As for David's operation, there was no rush. They could wait until Edgar Bronfman Sr. sent his elite forces to Tokyo before making their move.
