Chapter 8 - The Past timeline-1

He fell on his knees and said," Akuma, you said, no more lives will be gone, now it is no more evident, sacrifices, that's what you named them, now it is no more what you called it".

" Do you trust him?" Asked Kara to Hidoi. They were both lying on the same bed, Kara's hand on Hidoi's chest. " He saved me, that's the end of it." Kyra stood up and covered her chest with the blanket and said," Do you even realize how many lives he is taking in a year? He makes some to do by you, he uses you, Hidoi!". He looked at his palm, which bore a scar.

" He told me once, this scar will protect me from people who will harm me. Why would he say something like that, if he didn't care about me?" Kara said," Stop being selfish, you have to rise and defend the innocent people. He is the one who is taking all the resources from the earth and using them like there is no tomorrow". Hidoi looked at her and said," See why he is taking the resources, he is using it for us all, for all the innocent people."

" Are you still in this thought that whatever he is saying is true? There is something or someone who is secretly controlling everything. You know how he travels to his dungeon now and then, there is something he is hiding". Hidoi didn't want to believe anything she was saying. He starts to think about all the time he had spent with 47.

A boy was sitting near a lake, completely dirty. He was wearing shorts, or rather, torn pants. His eyes had something special from the start; he had a scar on his hand, which was a circle within a circle. It suddenly started to twitch; he pulled up his left hand to see his scar glowing. He looks to the side to see a person wearing a mask. He was wearing a cloak. The mask is forged from a matte, bone-white composite—organic in texture, almost like ceramic or weathered stone, but flexible and light as air. It covers the entire face with clean, flowing lines, sculpted to suggest a calm, human presence without assigning it a specific identity. There's no mouth, only a subtle curve where lips might be.

He said," What are you doing here, kid, alone?" The kid was none other than Hidoi. He looked at the masked man who was standing by, leaning a bit to one side with the support of a tree. He came to a good posture and said," You don't look in good shape. What happened?" Hidoi was speechless, as he didn't know how to respond to what he had asked. The masked man sighed and said," Of course you're scared, I would be too if I had been in your shoes." He sat near Hidoi," I know what happened to you, I was just asking whether you were sane or not. Lemoyne group, isn't it?". Hidoi didn't say a word. " Sometimes life is hard, sometimes it gives you challenges you have never faced before. Once I had a brother, I had another brother too, just that he was not blood-related. The non-blood related one killed my related brother, meanwhile, I, who didn't even feel a loss of family until then".

He stood up and turned back. He lifted his arm, and his hand pointed up," Come with me.". He started to walk away. Hidoi looked back at him to decide whether to go with him or not. He looked at his left hand palm once more, seeing his scar glowing, which was a sign of destiny. He smiled like he hadn't in many days. He stood up and dusted himself, and started to run towards the masked man. He came beside him. The unknown person brushed Hidoi's hair," What's you're name, kid?"

"One week more left," Said Hidoi. He was sitting beside a person who was wearing a prisoner's outfit. He was in a cell that was locked from the outside. Outside the cell, two guards were present.

" One week left for the experiment, I am sorry, I... tried my best." The man in a prisoner's outfit smirked," Does it matter anymore? My life's already gone, left. It is in hell, suffering in a prison that purposely leaves you alone. At least now that life is going to end, the suffering will end." Hidoi looked at him.

The person in the cell looked identical. His hair had grown a lot, reaching his collar. " How can you say that?" Asked Hidoi," Don't you know you're precious to many I know, many you know. Your daughter is not fine, got addicted to cigarettes, she has a boyfriend now, and their relationship is going well. How do you feel about that?" The person fell silent; he was looking down the whole time. He checked his palm, which had an electric scar on it, which was glowing bright yellow. " My mana is twitching, I awackened that day, this damn thing started to happen since then."

There was a silence in the cell for some time, then one of them spoke out. " Why Hidoi," Said the person," Why only her, why only Shinsu?" It is revealed, he is Indhra. It is not a surprise, he has a daughter; he awakened, understandable that he is Indhra. Hidoi was speechless with that question," She...". " What did she do?" Asked Indhra, putting pressure on Hidoi. " She...". Indhra growled," WHAT SHE?". Hidoi got tense and looked at him. Indhra turned his head towards Hidoi and screeched it again," WHAT DID SHE DO?". He had a very angry-looking face, his eyes wide open, his lips widened. Hidoi calmed himself and screamed his answer," SHE WAS UNFORTUNATE!" Indhra stopped growling his face back to normal. He turned towards the cell gates. " She was just unlucky, that is it, nothing more, nothing less!"

" I see, why wasn't I unfortunate then? Who am I even, a murderer or a cafe owner who has a dark past? Remember that even with proof that the act I performed was self-defence, I still got sentenced. The question rises again, and again, and again, it is unstoppable." Hidoi was still looking at Indhra, stunned. Indhra continued," Now, do you understand why I gave myself in? I know you would do the same if you would have been in my shoes."
