Lucas Taylor wasn't a bad father. Far from it. He cared deeply about his children and wanted them to grow into capable individuals.
However, his methods could be questionable at times.
And when he decided to teach someone a lesson, he rarely considered whether the experience might leave them traumatized.
If this entire birthday celebration was somehow intended to strengthen Leo's mental fortitude, then he wanted to file a formal complaint.
Preferably one that would force his father to reconsider his parenting methods.
But for now, he decided to endure it.
After all, it was only a birthday party.
How much worse could things possibly get?
"...By the way," Lillian suddenly said, "is Rin coming?"
Leo's expression stiffened.
"Why are you asking about him?"
"Why wouldn't I? It's been ages since I've seen him."
"...I suppose he'll come. He's one of my friends, after all."
"Really? That's wonderful! I heard Rachel is doing well now, too."
"Yes. He's doing much better."
