Alright, I'll be honest.
I was naive.
Even though this was an academy story with an absurd setting, I had assumed there was a limit to how ridiculous things could get.
Sure, the Taylor family was the most influential conglomerate in the country. They had money, power, and enough connections to make almost anything happen.
But how seriously could they possibly take their son's birthday?
At most, I figured they would rent out a hotel, invite a few important guests, and throw a lavish party. Something similar to what my father used to do.
That was what I had imagined.
Unfortunately, reality had other plans.
And I realized just how foolish I'd been when I saw an airship floating across the sky on our way home from school.
At first, I thought it was some kind of promotional event.
Airships weren't exactly common, but they weren't unheard of, either. Seeing one fly over the city wasn't particularly strange.
What was strange, however, was the enormous banner hanging beneath it.
