A strange scent tickled Leona's nose as they ventured deeper into the narrow cave.
At first, she thought it might be perfume, but the fragrance was far too subtle for that. It wasn't overpowering or artificial. Instead, it was soft and calming, gradually filling the air around them.
And for some reason, it made her feel strangely at ease.
She turned her head slightly toward Rin.
'…Is that his scent?'
It was faint, almost like the fragrance of fresh flowers after the rain.
Leona blinked.
'Wait a minute.'
Her expression stiffened.
'Why does he smell so good?'
She instinctively sniffed her own clothes.
They had been through a fierce battle, and she hadn't even had the chance to wash herself properly afterward.
Surely, she couldn't smell that great right now.
Meanwhile, Rin smelled as though he'd just stepped out of a bath and changed into fresh clothes.
'That's not fair!'
How could a boy smell this good without even trying?
