"S-ranks are nothing special!"
The villain shouted as he continued unleashing his power.
He didn't seem to realize it yet, but the magical power surging through him had started to weaken.
That was the thing about a Mana Zone.
It granted power in response to a person's will.
So, naturally, if the will that had triggered that power began to weaken, the connection would weaken as well.
And eventually, it would be severed completely.
In his case, the Mana Zone had probably responded to his instinct to survive.
Or maybe it was the humiliation of being pushed to the brink of defeat.
Either way, judging by his current state, those emotions were no longer as strong as they had been.
The Mana Zone wouldn't take back the power it had already given him.
But it wouldn't give him any more, either.
And if he continued wasting that limited power so recklessly, it would eventually run out.
He had put up a surprisingly good fight for an extra-level villain from the original story.
