Whilst some were interested in exploring the school or playing in the playground, once Karin said that she was heading to the canteen, everyone followed her there.
The middle-aged woman who ran the canteen was called Michi, and she happily greeted everyone and welcomed them to the academy.
Since it was their first time at the school, she even gave them a discount, and the Uzumaki Princess bought food for all the classmates who were with them.
Sakura gasped when she saw Karin open her small purse, which was filled with thousands of ryō, but then embarrassedly looked away.
"I keep brother's pocket money with me as well."
When she gave them that detail, everyone finally felt a little better and nodded their heads in understanding.
"You were awesome, Enma!" Naruto suddenly remembered something and excitedly looked at the red-haired Uzumaki. "How did you do it?"
"Practice," he smiled. "Karin stays by my side and keeps guiding me, so it helps."
"That's still very impressive." Shino, who was the second-most silent of the lot, honestly said, and everyone else nodded their heads too.
It was almost a feast considering how much food Karin had ordered.
"Ano... is it okay to have this much food?" Hinata shyly asked, and the three Uzumaki and Chōji brightly smiled at her.
"Don't worry! We will finish it all."
Sakura was quite sceptical about Karin's claim and felt that the Uzumaki Princess was wasteful with her money, but when she saw Naruto, Kiba, and the rest of the boys start eating, she was surprised at their appetite. And Chōji's appetite simply shocked her. He alone ate half of the things on the table.
"You are the best, Karin!" The Akimichi laughed after he cleaned up everything, and the Princess nodded her head before she jumped off her seat. "Who wants ice pops?"
"Me!" "I.." "I.."
One by one, everyone raised their hands, except for Shizuka, and Ino suddenly stood up and asked Karin to let her buy them the ice pops to show her gratitude for the meal, and the girl happily nodded her head.
Even though the Nakagami had not asked for an ice pop, Karin brought the same flavour she had chosen for herself for her, and the girl stood up and bowed to her in thanks before accepting it.
The group then toured around the school, passing by every classroom. Some even peeked inside and then ran away, giggling and laughing.
In the end, they ended up at a training field next to where the rest of their class was.
Here, the final-year students were involved in Taijutsu matches, and their group sat down to watch their seniors fighting.
Since Enma could not see, he just lay back, took out a coin, and then started spinning it on his nose.
At first, only Sasuke, who was not too interested in the Taijutsu spars, paid attention to him, and his eyes widened when he saw what the Uzumaki was doing.
Even though he had never tried it before, he knew that it was not something easy, and after observing for a while, he looked away.
After him, Ino and Sakura sneaked glances at the Uzumaki Prince, and they just found the sight cute, not understanding what he was really doing.
"Woah... she is good!" Naruto exclaimed when he saw a girl grab her opponent's arm, swing him, and then toss him harshly into the ground.
The sight made some of them wince, but most smiled.
"She's my sister," Kiba proudly informed them and then pointed at the three puppies who were waiting on the side. "And the three of them, triplets, are her ninken. They are Haimaru One, Haimaru Two, and Haimaru Three. We just call them Haimaru Brothers."
Sensing his eyes on them, the three puppies happily rushed over to him and then tackled him down before licking him all over the face.
Naruto laughed at the sight, but Sakura and Ino were a little scared and got up to retreat a few steps away.
Kiba laughed as he begged for mercy, and eventually, the puppies stopped their assault and stepped aside when their trainer approached them.
"Why are you not in your class?" the girl severely asked her brother, who seemed a little upset at her question.
"We are free until noon. Daikoku-sensei is teaching the rest of our classmates how to wield and throw shuriken and kunai."
"Oh..." the girl apologetically smiled and ruffled his head before looking at the other kids. "Hello, my name is Inuzuka Hana. I am Kiba's sister. You can all call me Hana."
The girls introduced themselves to her first, and then the boys did.
Finally, it was Enma's turn, and he slowly sat up and turned his head to face her.
"Uzumaki Enma."
The Inuzuka Heiress curiously looked at him, and then at Karin before nodding her head.
"It's nice to meet you, Enma-san." she politely said and then waved her hand at them all before rushing to report back to her sensei with her ninken.
"What's a ninken?" Sakura finally asked what she had been curious about for a while, and Kiba happily informed her what ninken was.
"When will you receive your ninken?" Chōji curiously looked at him.
"When I pass the family trial. I'm working hard on it."
"What's the trial?" Naruto questioned, and Kiba shook his head.
"Not telling. It's a clan secret."
"Oh..."
After the Taijutsu class ended, the twelve of them rushed to the training field of the first-year students and managed to reach the place right before noon.
When they glanced around, they saw a few kids who were wearing bandages on their hands, with their eyes red after crying. And Daikoku-sensei looked haggard as well.
He was not alone now, and there seemed to be an assistant with him, whom they learned was called Mizuki.
A lot of their classmates were still practising their throw of shuriken, using the blunt shuriken, and Mizuki-sensei was guiding them all.
He was quite a strict teacher, a contrast to Daikoku-sensei's amiable personality, and those who had gone through shuriken training, understood that a strict teacher was necessary for those kids who wanted to even have a chance of becoming a shinobi.
"Karin-san, bring everyone over here!" Daikoku-sensei called out to the Uzumaki Princess, who happily stood up and led the group to the side of the training field where several circles were marked.
"We will now be assessing your Taijutsu abilities," he informed them and then paired them up.
Enma was called first, and his opponent was Sasuke.
His little sister quickly stepped forward with him and helped him stand in the middle of the circle.
"You are standing right in the centre, and the radius of the circle is two metres."
"Thank you." Enma gently patted her head and took a step back, taking his position.
Sasuke did not take him lightly even though he was blindfolded, and as soon as Daikoku-sensei gave the go, he rushed forward with a kick to the head, which the Uzumaki blocked with his left arm.
Enma lowered his head a little as he concentrated on his immediate surroundings, heightening his sixth sense, and focusing on sound, vibrations, and other environmental cues.
The group watched in amazement as the Uzumaki managed to block all of the Uchiha's attacks, and even countered them a few times. The two of them were fighting even better than most of the seniors they had watched spar in the other training field.
"Alright, enough." Daikoku-sensei raised his hand and stopped them. "Excellent and excellent. Next, Hyūga Hinata and Uzumaki Karin."
The two aspiring kunoichi bowed to each other and then took their fighting stances.
As soon as the sensei gave the go, Karin rushed forward and overwhelmed Hinata with her speed, eventually forcing her to use her Byakugan.
Once her dōjutsu was active, she was finally able to fight back a little, and the kids who were watching gasped when they saw how intense their fight was.
However, it was also very clear that Karin was superior. Still, she did not force her opponent out of the circle.
It was not a contest, just a test, and she did not wish to harm the innocent girl.
"Alright. That's enough." Daikoku-sensei raised his hand and called a stop before grading their performance. "Excellent and Superb."
"Hehe..." Karin cutely giggled at getting the Superb evaluation and then blushed when her Nii-san patted her head.
Next, Kiba and Naruto were called to fight, and the latter's form was awful, to say the least. He was fast, and sturdy, but clearly lacked experience in proper fighting, and Kiba was in a mood to show off, so he threw Naruto out of the circle, quickly defeating him.
"Good, and Poor."
The evaluation did not help either as Naruto screamed at Kiba, but then clenched his fists and lowered his head when the Uzumaki Princess told him to behave.
"Yeah, listen to Little Princess, you loser..."
Kiba tried to mock him, but then all the breath in his lungs left him when the red-haired girl suddenly appeared in front of him and buried her fist in his abdomen.
"Don't you dare call me 'Little' again!" she coldly said, and everyone felt chills run up their spines.
Even Daikoku was surprised at the speed the girl had just shown. She was already faster than a lot of Genin.
Kiba folded his arms around his stomach and dropped to his knees, his expression contorted in pain.
"Hmph! Just lie down and straighten your legs. Pain will go away."
The Inuzuka, as angry as he was at her, listened to her advice.
She lied. The pain did not go away, but it sure did become bearable within a few seconds, and then Kiba gasped for breath.
"Karin-san, since this is your first offence, I will leave you off with a warning. Next time, if you attack someone like this, disciplinary action will be taken against you." Daikoku-sensei warned her, and even though she wanted to smack the man as well, she cutely nodded her head and bowed to him.
"I understand, Sensei. Thank you."
The Taijutsu assessment continued, and Naruto finally felt better when he saw that he was not the only one who received a poor evaluation.
Sakura, Ino, and Shikamaru performed poorly as well.
At 2 pm, Suzume-sensei came to the training field and took all the females of their class to a Kunoichi-Only class.
The boys were curious about what this Kunoichi-Only class was about, and Daikoku-sensei answered their curiosity.
"The girls will be taught methods of blending into the public, appearing as ordinary citizens during infiltration missions. You will be taught something similar, but only in the final year. Both you and the kunoichi will also be offered bonus classes once you become a Genin, but of course, you can only attend them with the approval of your sensei."
Enma knew that those bonus classes were about seduction training.
Mostly, those who fail to become a Genin by a small margin would be offered a chance to become a Genin in return for becoming intelligence gatherers for the village. Both males and females would be trained in the art of seduction, including sex, so that they could take on seduction missions for the village.
Girls and boys belonging to the clans, especially those with bloodline powers, were not recruited for those bonus classes. There was a risk of their bloodline being stolen and getting tarnished, and some clans were very strict about their legacies, especially those with Kekkei Genkai.
These were all things that their mother had told them about, so Enma and Karin were better aware of these realities than the kids around them.
For the boys, Mizuki-sensei then tested each of their strengths, making them lift different weights, and Shikamaru turned out to be the weakest in this category as well, followed right by Shino. Of course, only when compared with the other students who had shinobi heritage. He was way better than a lot of civilians.
Kiba fumed when he saw that Naruto, Chōji, Sasuke, and Enma could all lift more weight than him, and the blond Uzumaki was tied with Chōji in second place. Sasuke was third, but there was a considerable difference between his best lift and the Inuzuka's best lift.
At 3 pm, when the girls joined them again, they all returned to their classroom, and this time, it was a geography lesson, which a lot of them found very interesting as it involved learning about new places.
At 5 pm, the school ended, and everyone parted ways with each other.
Since the Uchiha District and Uzumaki Districts were in the same direction, Karin, Enma, and Sasuke walked together, chatting all the way.
The boy was surprised when the two stepped on the bridge with him which led to the Uchiha District.
"You are coming with me?" he curiously asked.
"We want to see Hazuki-Obasan, Izumi, and Akane," Karin informed him, and Sasuke looked at her in surprise.
"You know them?"
"Of course, silly. Izumi and Akane are our cousins." She stuck her tongue out at him, and he angrily looked at her.
"Don't call me silly!"
"Okay..." she cutely giggled and then followed their new friend into the Uchiha District.
