AT THE SAME TIME
MICHAEL'S POINT OF VIEW:
The moment the system alert flashed, time seemed to freeze. I sighed as I realized something happened to Vanessa.
"Eleventh event: Vanessa Vale – Status: Missing. Echo Connection: Offline. Timer: 24 hours until Bond Severance. Search required."System said.
"What the—" I barely got the words out before Soren's voice shattered the air.
"NO!" He barked, breath wild. "System, re-establish link! Reboot tracking! TRACE HER!"
No response. Just silence and the quiet tick of the countdown in the top right of my face.
"Vanessa!" He yelled again, already running. "VANESSA!"
His panic hit like a slap. It shoved everyone out of confusion into motion.
"She was just with me last night." Isabella said. "She not supposed to be missing. That's all."
"Something took her. Or lured her." Xavier said.
"Then we hunt." I said, stepping beside Isabella. "You and me just like before."
