Chapter 625: Now This Is an Angel

Unexpected reinforcements always arrived at the most critical moments. Even Steven hadn't expected that someone would actually step in and save him from this unbearably awkward situation.

Of course, it wasn't that some system suddenly rewarded him with a clone mod, nor was some mysterious person teaching him the secrets of being a playboy online. Rather, just as the atmosphere reached peak awkwardness, a sudden disturbance erupted from the crowd of tourists nearby. The area had been noisy but relatively orderly until then.

The three people present instinctively stopped their tense confrontation and turned toward the source of the commotion. The disturbance rapidly drew closer.

Then, as several girls broke through the crowd first, Steven's face immediately lit up with the expression of someone seeing their savior.

At that moment, he finally understood why people said that rescuing someone in distress was the easiest way to win their affection. Right now, he wanted nothing more than to grab the girl leading the group and plant a huge kiss on her cheek.

She had literally saved his life.

If he didn't treat her to a meal later, it would be a crime against gratitude.

As the Penguin Logistics squad burst out of the crowd, they naturally noticed the rather awkward formation between Steven and the two girls.

Though they had no idea what was going on, they really didn't want to cause him any more trouble.

After all, he'd already helped them several times before. And judging from appearances, he was obviously on a date. If they barged in and ruined it, that would just be cruel.

Just as Exusiai was about to signal her teammates to change direction and flee elsewhere, Steven suddenly appeared behind them as if he'd teleported.

With a serious expression, he stared at the black-clad pursuers chasing them.

"I'll lend you a hand!"

He shouted toward Exusiai and the others before stepping dramatically between Penguin Logistics and their pursuers.

"...Um, actually, you don't really need to get involved in this..."

Exusiai looked at the young man who had previously sworn that he was leaving and wouldn't interfere. She genuinely couldn't understand him anymore.

How could someone change his mind faster than turning a page?

"Now, now, how can you say that?" Steven interrupted before she could finish apologizing. "Broad daylight! Under the clear sky! And people are trying to commit violence in public? I cannot tolerate such injustice! My sense of righteousness simply won't allow it! Say no more—leave everything to me!"

Speaking in the tone of a righteous hero, Steven pulled a Gatling gun out of his inventory.

The black-clad men blocking their path had no idea what he was trying to do. After exchanging confused glances, they stopped hesitating and charged forward.

Whoever Steven was, anyone interfering with their mission needed to be eliminated.

Without slowing down, they rushed straight toward him.

Clearly, they had no idea what kind of terrifying weapon the rapidly spinning device in Steven's hands actually was.

Exusiai, however, knew exactly what it was.

The moment she saw him take it out without hesitation, she practically threw herself beside him and grabbed his arm before he could pull the trigger.

"Uh, Steven," she said helplessly, shaking her head. "This is still a public street. People are trying to celebrate a festival here. If you fire that thing, I don't know about anything else, but the festival is definitely over."

That was also why she hadn't used her own gun.

They were in the middle of Lungmen's streets, where everyone was happily preparing for the festivities. If they turned the place into a battlefield covered in blood, what kind of festival would be left?

The gang members pursuing them had clearly considered this as well. That was why they were acting so brazenly.

The people of Penguin Logistics cared about innocent bystanders.

The gangsters, on the other hand, had no such concerns whatsoever.

"I see. In that case, no problem—I still have the Gatling's second form."

Hearing Exusiai's objection, Steven gave up on pulling the trigger. After all, she had a point. Turning the streets into a bloodbath during a holiday celebration really wasn't a great idea.

Besides, he wasn't actually trying to slaughter everyone.

As long as he could escape that romantic battlefield, any excuse that gave him something else to do was already good enough.

Using the corner of his eye, he glanced at the two girls who had only just realized he'd run off.

Suddenly, even the charging Siracusan gang members seemed adorable.

Ah...

People willing to help rescue him from that hellish situation were clearly good people. Shooting them full of bullets would be rather rude.

So, reluctantly, he decided to grant them a beautiful dream instead.

Gripping the barrel of the Gatling gun in reverse, Steven hoisted it onto his shoulder like a massive iron club and flashed the approaching gangsters a grateful smile.

For the sake of his happiness, they had sacrificed so much.

Were these really gangsters?

No, they were even more angelic than the Sankta standing beside him.

They were true angels.

And he was about to send them straight to heaven.

The Siracusan gang members hadn't even figured out why Steven was smiling like that.

The men at the front had just raised their weapons, intending to cut him down, when they suddenly felt an overwhelming force crash down onto their heads.

Then everything went black.

Almost nobody could follow Steven's movements.

To the naked eye, all that could be seen was the barrel of a gatling gun whirling through the air.

The gangsters froze in place as though someone had cast a paralysis spell on them.

Then, one after another, they collapsed limply to the ground.

In truth, Steven was deliberately holding back and dragging things out.

The longer he took, the easier it would be to explain himself later.

After all, nobody could blame him for not choosing which girl to accompany.

There was a special situation, wasn't there? Who could have predicted that?
