Chapter 3 - Chapter 1: Life at the Garden

My name is Alissa Harrison. And I'm in Orchid Garden!

The Orchid Garden, lush with greenery and wild flowers, some even may not exist in the outside world. This is the only home I had ever known, and right now, that same home…

"CODE RED CODE RED! SILI'S IN THE KITCHEN!!!"

"SHIT, RUNNNN!!"

"SAVE YOUR ASSES!!!"

…is currently a battlefield of survival, many kids of my age and seniors are running their butts off from the impending fire and chaos, not really hopeful to be turned into human BBQ. I went to sit in my usual little spot, chilling with the daisies and avoiding the crowd.

The one setting the whole kitchen in flames is Sili, a one heck of a fire maniac, that's why miss "Gardener" always sets up heavy security in, out and around the kitchen, just for the sole purpose of keeping her out. I sometimes wonder, how does she manage to slip into the kitchen despite those cameras watching her every move and traps set everywhere. My guess? She absolutely obliterated them.

"Sup Ali, aren't you gonna run?" A boy with short, messy hair with faded navy ends, probably due to his medication, asked walking up to me. That's Zander, one of the smart-type kids, not a lot of people are a fan his behavior but he's pretty sweet once you're friends with him!

"It's not like the fire is gonna get us… if miss 'Gardener' arrives in time…" I spoke with hope but also with slight uncertainty, sitting up from the patches of daisies I was in earlier. I mean, me, Zander and the other senior are pretty much immune to any elemental damage of course thanks to the medication that the doctors gave us, but the pain is still there. Besides, I'm more worried for the juniors whom haven't taken the meds yet, things can go downhill really fast if the fire spreads.

"Say… mind going on a little adventure?~" He said with this signature oh-so-devious smirk that basically screams torturing time for me.

I looked at him, dead in the eyes, fear slowly etching onto my face, praying to whoever god that can save my soul from his grasp.

I immediately sprinted away from him as fast as possible, but he managed to caught onto my white dress just when I was halfway running and pulled on it to stop me in my tracks (if you're worried I might get flashed, don't worry, all of the girls wear shorts here). I swiftly held onto a tree that's mostly within reach, hanging onto it like a dear lifeline.

"No no no no NO! I'M NOT GOING IN THERE ZANDER!!"

"You are coming with ME, no buts!!!"

"WHO SAID I WAS COMING WITH YOU??!!?!?"

"WELL THE WIND DID!!!"

"WINDS DON'T EVEN SPEAK ZANDER!!!!"

"OH COME ON! IT'S JUST A LITTLE TRIP ALI!"

"WHAT LITTLE TRIP CONSISTS OF LITERAL FLAMES IN THE KITCHEN??!!!!"

"JUST…LET…GO! YOU'LL BE FINE!!"

"WAHHHHH!!!"

Well, guess who won?

Zander.

And there is me, getting dragged on the floor, at the collar by him.

"Alright alright, I'll come… please let me go…"

"What if you run?"

"You'll always get me with that complicated mind of yours…"

He thought for a bit then finally let my collar go, letting me lay there contemplating my life choices for a little while before forcing me to get up.

As we passed the hallways, most, no, all of the cameras, even the hidden ones, were smashed into fine dust with spiky red vines scattered on the floor and above the ceiling. The smell of burnt metal and rotten eggs hung over the air, along with a trail of smoke leading to the kitchen.

If these signs were there, I would've bolted ASAP if Zander wasn't holding me hostage.

We we reached there, the scene was a total chaos, as expected. To summarize it:

*DEEP BREATH*

Stoves are on fire

Pots melted into metal

Rice changed races

Chickens and ducks were somehow flying

Vines were everywhere

Cockroaches were still running for their lives

Trash cans walking on two legs

An actual living demon had a look on their face like they witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime disaster while being dragged into the pot of anguish by none other than…

Sili Jesse.

"Hm? *gasp* Ali! You came! Oh… and that rat too…" That pyromaniac seems to be really thrilled to see me, we know each other after all. But still, it's confusing on how we managed to be friends.

"What the heck are you doing, Sili? Teach told you not to summon demons again..." Zander scolded her as if it was an ordinary occurrence, which it is by the way. And there I was, jaw dropped to the floor for god knows how many times.

"My, Zandy, there's something called 'free will' here, I get to do what I want!" Sili spoke in that obnoxious tone, dropping the demon into the pot, making a rather disgusting plop.

"But… shouldn't Teacher be here at anytime now…?" I asked warily.

Sili unlocked a whole new expression upon realization then taking a long, deep breath.

"Fuck."

Conclusion: Sili is now locked in the rehabilitation cell for the rest of the day.
