"Hand over everything you've got!" the man demanded, his voice cold and threatening.
Shiki instinctively stepped in front of Kanro, trying to protect him. "We don't have much, but you can take what we have," Shiki said, his voice steady but cautious.
Kanro, trembling with fear, clutched Shiki's arm. "Shiki, what are we going to do?" he whispered, his voice shaking.
Shiki glanced at Kanro, then back at the man. "Stay calm, Kanro. We'll get through this," he said reassuringly.
The man took a step closer, his eyes filled with desperation. "I don't have all night! Give me your money and anything valuable!"
Kanro fumbled in his pockets, pulling out the little money they had. "Here, take it," he said, his hands shaking.
Shiki handed over his wallet and a few items of value. "This is all we have. Please, just let us go," Shiki pleaded.
The man snatched the items from their hands, his eyes darting around nervously. "You better not be lying," he warned. His gaze then settled on Kanro's wristwatch.
"Give me that watch!" the man demanded, pointing the knife at Kanro again.
Kanro's eyes widened in fear. "No, please! This watch is very important to me. I can't give it to you," he pleaded, holding his wrist protectively.
The man stepped closer, his expression turning more aggressive. "I said, give me the watch!" he shouted.
Shiki, sensing the danger escalating, moved to stand between Kanro and the man. "No, you can't have it!" he shouted back, his voice firm.
The man lunged at Kanro, but Shiki quickly blocked him, starting a struggle between them. "Run, Kanro! Get help!" Shiki yelled as he fought to keep the man away.
Kanro decided to run, but another thief emerged from the shadows and blocked his path. "Woah, looks like you have quite a pretty companion. Lucky break for us," the second thief said with a malicious grin.
Shiki looked at Kanro, worried for his friend. In that split second, the first thief took advantage of the distraction and punched Shiki in the face. Kanro, now terrified, froze in place.
"Shiki!" Kanro screamed, unable to move as the fear paralyzed him.
"Don't worry, we'll take good care of you," the second thief sneered, advancing on Kanro.
Shiki, despite being hit, managed to shout, "Kanro, stay back! I'll handle this!"
In his desperation and the surge of emotions he was feeling, something extraordinary happened. Without thinking, Shiki punched the thief, and to his surprise, the thief was sent flying. Shiki realized he had super strength.
"What... what just happened?" Shiki muttered, looking at his own fist in disbelief.
The second thief, seeing his companion knocked out, hesitated. "What the hell are you?" he stammered, fear creeping into his voice.
Kanro, still trembling, looked at Shiki with wide eyes. "Shiki, you... you have super strength?"
Shiki nodded slowly, still processing what had just happened. "I guess I do," he said, his voice filled with awe.
The second thief, realizing they were outmatched, tried to retreat, but Shiki stopped him and knocked him down as well. Shiki quickly called the police to have the thieves arrested.
When the police arrived, one of the thieves, still groggy, pointed at Shiki. "You should arrest him too! He's a monster!" the thief accused.
Shiki just smiled and made a silent gesture at the thief as they were taken away by the police.
On their way home, Shiki still couldn't believe what had happened to him. As they lay in bed, Shiki recounted the events of the night. "Kanro, can you believe it? I actually have super strength! I never thought something like this could happen to me," he said, his voice filled with amazement.
Kanro remained silent, which made Shiki sit up and look at him. "Kanro, are you asleep?" he asked, trying to see if his friend was still awake.
To his surprise, Kanro also sat up. "Oh, you're awake. I thought you were already asleep," Shiki said, startled.
Shiki was about to continue speaking when he noticed the serious expression on Kanro's face, something unusual for him. "Kanro, is something wrong?" Shiki asked, concern evident in his voice.
Kanro took a deep breath before speaking. "I think now is the time to tell you this, Shiki," Kanro began, his voice steady. "Honestly, I think it's not just you who has experienced something like this."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Shiki asked, his curiosity growing. "Wait, so you have super strength too?" he added, his eyes wide with excitement.
"Yeah..." Kanro replied, hesitating as he tried to find the right words. "Wait, no."
"Ehh, I thought you had powers too," Shiki said, disappointed.
"Yeah, I do, but not super strength."
"So, what is your power?"
Kanro took a deep breath before speaking. "To be honest, I think I can go back in the past using a picture."
"What? Really? How does it work?" Shiki asked, his excitement palpable.
"Whenever I look at a picture, I can travel 7 minutes back before the moment it was taken," Kanro explained. "And in 7 hours i can relive that time and see what happened"
"But unfortunately, no matter what I try to change, the outcome stays the same." As Kanro explained his ability, Shiki noticed the disappointment in his friend's voice.
Although Kanro had a unique power, he felt disheartened that he couldn't change the past. Shiki comforted him, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Kanro, it's still an amazing ability. We can use it to help others," Shiki said with a determined look.
Kanro nodded, his spirits lifting slightly. "Yeah, You're right, Shiki."
Shiki's eyes lit up with an idea. "What if we buy our own place and use it as a base to take on quests from people who need our help? We can solve their problems using our abilities."
Kanro considered the idea, a small smile forming on his lips. "That sounds like a great plan, Shiki."
Excited by their newfound purpose, Kanro and Shiki bought their own house and started designing it. They made sure to include a dedicated space for their base of operations where they could take on quests and help those in need.
As they worked on setting up their new home, Shiki and Kanro realized that their current occupations could be an advantage. Shiki, now a police officer, and Kanro, a detective, had access to valuable resources and connections that could help them in their quest to assist others.
"Kanro, I've been thinking," Shiki said as he hung a picture on the wall. "With me being a police officer and you being a detective, we can really use our positions to our advantage."
Kanro looked up from arranging their furniture. "That's a good point, Shiki. We can use the information and resources we have from our jobs to help us solve cases more efficiently."
Shiki nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! Plus we collaborate with our colleagues to capture the suspect."
Kanro smiled, feeling more confident about their plan. "This is going to be great"
