"This is weird," said Phil Coulson. "As far as the hammer's weight is concerned, it doesn't seem that heavy. Even a small mound of dirt hasn't been crushed beneath it.
If you look at the weight, you'd think the mound should collapse, but it hasn't. However, no matter what method we try, we can't move it. I'm starting to think it might be some kind of magic or some other force at work here."
Phil Coulson, ever the problem-solver, didn't immediately panic. When faced with such an impossible situation, he thought outside the box instead of succumbing to helplessness.
"Are you at the site?" Nick Fury asked, feeling the pressure mount. He knew this situation was a precursor to Thor's arrival.
This Mjolnir must be Thor's. The real question was how Thor himself would appear.
"Yes, I just got here," Coulson replied, his voice crackling through the phone. "Right now, outside the massive crater where Mjolnir landed in Mexico. S.H.I.E.L.D. has secured the area and set up a basic base around the hammer."
He paused as he surveyed the scene. "The strangest thing is, no matter what we try, we can't lift the hammer. It's as if it weighs tens of millions of tons, but it doesn't feel that heavy. So, I'm thinking this might involve magic or something else."
"Then you know what to do," Fury replied. "Keep the public away from the area. This hammer might be a harbinger, and Thor himself could appear soon. We don't want to cause an international incident with Asgard."
"Understood," Coulson responded.
With that, Nick Fury hung up and turned to Tony Stark. "Mjolnir has appeared, just as Luo Chen's diary predicted. It fell from the sky, and it looks like Thor will be arriving shortly."
Tony frowned. "I still don't get it. Why did Mjolnir suddenly fall from the sky? Even if gods exist, they shouldn't really be flying around in Earth's skies. So how could the hammer just fall to Earth?"
"I've been wondering about that too," Fury replied. "There must be something else going on here. This is just the beginning of a bigger story. If Thor is the protagonist in some kind of myth, then Mjolnir's sudden fall might be the start of this story unfolding."
Tony paused to think, nodding in agreement. "That makes sense. Something's definitely happening here, and I don't think we're fully prepared for it."
Meanwhile, Luo Chen was deep in thought as he wrote in his diary. What had been happening recently was the beginning of a new era—an era that was starting to take shape.
As for Luo Chen, his strength was now substantial enough for him to feel confident in the short term. Financially, he was already on solid ground after Tony Stark had recently paid him $10 million, effectively giving him financial freedom.
But despite his newfound comfort, Luo Chen wasn't content with simply being a passive observer in such a turbulent world. He wanted to be involved. And while he was in a good place, the best course of action was to rely on his diary system, which was capable of much more, especially with his Superman-like abilities.
The potential was high, and it was easy to level up—he just had to keep getting more sunlight.
Suddenly, a new thought crossed Luo Chen's mind.
[Although Thor's test in the first movie was set up by Odin to temper his son, there's always the chance that this timeline is different. What if this isn't the Thor we know—the hammer god we've come to expect? What if this timeline is more like the one where Hawkeye shoots Thor's hammer out of the sky? If that's the case, things could get messy.
Loki, the third prince, might use that as an excuse to invade Earth. And if that happens, it's going to be chaos!]
Luo Chen wrote down his concerns in his diary, venting his frustrations. In truth, he wasn't too worried about the other gods of Asgard. While Odin and Hela posed significant threats, other gods didn't seem too concerning at the moment.
Even Queen Frigg, though powerful, lacked sufficient combat experience. That was why she was caught off guard by the dark elves and ultimately lost her life. Her lack of battlefield experience was a weakness Luo Chen didn't share, so he wasn't particularly worried about her.
Still, with the What If series having opened up so many alternate timelines, Luo Chen wasn't sure which timeline he was in. After all, even Tony Stark hadn't been kidnapped in Afghanistan yet he still became Iron Man, indicating that this world was drastically different from what he knew.
Much of what he had previously learned about the Marvel Universe could only serve as a reference now, not as an established fact.
