"Franky, I know you want to get your hands on the Treasure Tree Adam," Ikki said. "You build the Straw Hats a new ship with that wood, and we'll let you be the shipwright. You'll get to see the ship you built cross every sea in the world. Isn't that your dream?"
When Franky heard the word "dream," he curled his lip. "Who has a stupid dream like that? And besides, I'm not joining your crew!" He pointed a finger at Luffy, who was still devouring food. "I mean, look at your captain! What kind of ship would he even have?"
Ikki, Zoro, and Sanji all looked at each other. They had to admit, he wasn't wrong.
"So, do you want the 200 million or not?" Ikki asked, getting back to the point.
Franky paused, considering the offer. Just as he was about to accept, one of his subordinates ran up and whispered in his ear, "Boss, we found a big score in the city! They've got at least 400 million Berries!"
Franky's eyes lit up. He turned back to Ikki. "Sorry, I've already got the money I need. No loan required."
Ikki had overheard the subordinate's comment. He knew immediately that the person carrying 400 million Berries was Nami, Usopp, and Vivi.
He also knew that his crewmate, Kakashi, had probably already figured out who was following them. He was likely waiting for Franky to make a move to see who was behind it all.
Ikki decided not to push it. Franky was about to get a painful lesson from society, and Ikki was happy to let it happen. He knew that the only way to get this particular pervert to cooperate was to beat him into submission first.
After finishing his meal, Luffy decided it was time to leave. The Franky Family members came out to see them off, welcoming them back to their little corner of the city anytime.
Ikki and the others left Franky House and headed toward the main part of Water Seven instead of going back to the ship.
Ikki wanted to find Bullet, who should still be waiting for the Ark Maxim to be transformed. He was excited to see what the legendary ship would look like once it was finished.
The group quickly split up. Zoro wandered off for no apparent reason, Sanji went to look for unique ingredients and spices, and Luffy went in search of more food. Despite eating an entire banquet's worth of food, he was still hungry.
As Ikki rode his water scooter, Blue, toward the main dock, Franky and his crew began their plan. Franky gathered his men, intending to use their "wisdom" to get the money from Nami's group.
Meanwhile, Nami, Usopp, Vivi, and Kakashi had already arrived at the Galley-La Company. They met with Mayor Iceberg and handed him the recommendation letter from Granny Kokoro. Iceberg opened the letter and saw it only said, "Help them build a ship!" and was signed with a lipstick print.
He immediately tore the letter up. Nami was shocked, thinking he must have a problem with Granny Kokoro.
"Granny Kokoro and I are old drinking buddies," Iceberg said, waving his hand. "I tore up that letter because her lipstick mark is just so ugly. It puts me in a bad mood."
He then looked at the group. "So you want a ship built? It'll cost you a lot of money. Do you have it ready?"
"Actually, we've already found a shipwright," Nami replied. "We're here to ask you to take a look at the Going Merry for us."
Iceberg was intrigued. He had already consolidated all the shipwrights in the city, so he was curious who they had found. "Alright, I'll have someone take a look at it," he said, turning to his secretary. "Kalifa, go get Kaku and have him check their ship for them."
"Yes, Mr. Iceberg," Kalifa said, walking away to call Kaku.
Kaku had a long, square nose, similar to Usopp's.
After Kaku left, Nami told the others she wanted to do some shopping. Holding their 400 million Berries in their hands was the safest way to keep it.
The four of them left Galley-La Company, riding on Blue. However, Blue suddenly became sluggish, and his eyes glazed over. Nami, Vivi, and Usopp didn't notice, but Kakashi did.
At the same time, members of the Franky Family were hiding in the shadows of the street, waiting for Blue to fall into the water so they could snatch the money.
Their plan was good, but they were dealing with a master ninja. Kakashi had handled countless S-Rank escort missions. The moment Blue went limp, Kakashi jumped off, landing on the water with Vivi and the box of money in tow.
"That was a close one," Vivi said. "Thank you, Kakashi."
Kakashi set her down on the road. Nami walked over. "What happened to Blue? Why did he just sink?"
"Someone must have poisoned our scooter while we were at the Galley-La Company," Kakashi said. "Alright, you three go on and do your shopping. I'll take care of this."
"Wait!" Usopp said, stepping forward. "I'll come with you!"
Kakashi shook his head. "You stay and protect Nami and Vivi."
Usopp was about to ask if they really needed protection, but he decided against it.
With that, Kakashi headed off on his own, carrying the box of money toward a secluded part of the city.
"Big Bro, the plan to poison their scooter failed," one of Franky's crew said over a Den Den Mushi.
"Hmph! Seems like they've got some strong people with them," Franky said, striking a pose with his sister, Franky's Square Sister. "In that case, let's just take the money the old-fashioned way!"
Another subordinate ran up to him. "Boss, the masked man with the white hair just took the money box and went to Hulk Island by himself."
"Oh? He's pretty confident, isn't he?" Franky said. He then led his crew toward Hulk Island.
They found Kakashi sitting on a crate, reading a tattered little book. "Man, I wonder if there are any of these kinds of books in Water Seven," he mumbled to himself. "If there are, I'm buying a whole bunch."
He saw Franky and his crew approaching and put the book away. "Is this all of you?" he asked, his eyes sharp.
"Hmph! My little brothers won't be fighting," Franky said. "They're just here to cheer me on."
Kakashi nodded. He set the money box down. "Alright then. Let's get this over with."
At the same time, in an old, unnoticed room, several masked CP agents stood around.
"Is that Nico Robin? She doesn't look like the pictures."
"She's too young. It can't be her."
"We'll know for sure after we test her..."
