After learning that it was the son of Gol D. Roger who broke into Impel Down, Magellan immediately contacted Fleet Admiral Sengoku.
At the same time, Sengoku, Garp, the three admirals, Vice Admiral Tsuru, and Marine Commander-in-Chief Kong were holding a high-level meeting. The entire meeting was focused on Ace.
"Ace is my grandson! His name is Monkey D. Ace!" Garp was the first to speak, "He's not Roger's son at all!"
After Garp finished, Sengoku stood up. "We can't be one hundred percent certain about Ace's identity. After all, that information came from Blackbeard. He's a pirate, so we can't just take his word for it."
The person who said this wasn't Aokiji, who was trying to help, but fellow admiral Akainu. It wasn't that Akainu was speaking up for Ace, but from his point of view, all pirates were a nuisance, especially someone like Blackbeard. His words were not to be trusted. Aokiji and Kizaru both looked at Akainu in surprise, but he just snorted and sat back down.
After listening to them, Kong looked at Aokiji and Kizaru. "Kuzan, Borsalino, you two brought Ace back this time. Do either of you have anything to say?"
Kizaru just took out his nail clippers and gestured that he was too lazy to speak. Aokiji, seeing this, had no choice but to answer himself. "We did capture Ace, but we're not sure if he's Roger's son." Aokiji could lie without batting an eye. If Blackbeard were there, he would've definitely shouted, "You're full of it!"
Kong took a deep breath. "It seems you all want to spare Ace." He glanced at Garp, knowing full well that Garp was the reason for all of this. Garp had once been his most capable subordinate, and more importantly, Kong knew how unbelievably strong Garp was now.
Kong had fought Garp before and knew his strength firsthand. Even the most mysterious Devil Fruit in the world was useless against Garp's fists. He could even break regular Devil Fruits, which showed just how powerful he was. For the sake of the Marines' internal stability, Kong didn't want to provoke Garp, and he also wanted to save his grandson. However, the World Government had issued the order to execute Ace, which put Kong in a difficult position.
Just as Kong was lost in thought, the Den Den Mushi on Sengoku's desk rang. Sengoku looked at Kong, who nodded, signaling him to answer it. It was, after all, a work call.
As soon as he picked up the receiver, Magellan's anxious voice came through. "Fleet Admiral, we have a problem. The person who broke into Impel Down is Gol D. Roger's son! He seems to be after Douglas Bullet, one of Roger's former crew members on the sixth floor."
Everyone in the room heard the message.
"Roger's son? So the guy who didn't resist when we arrested him and smiled every day was lying about his identity?" Tsuru muttered. Her voice wasn't loud, but everyone heard it.
Akainu's face grew dark. "I knew that Blackbeard couldn't be trusted."
"Magellan, under no circumstances can you let that man enter the sixth floor. Bullet must not be released!" Sengoku yelled into the receiver. He knew how dangerous Bullet was. The most important thing was that ever since Roger's death, Bullet had become completely unrestrained. When Bullet was caught, they had to use a Buster Call. If he were to be released again, the world would be thrown into chaos.
Just as Sengoku finished, Garp grabbed the receiver. "Hey, Magellan! Catch that guy! My grandson's life depends on it!"
"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, Vice Admiral Garp, don't worry! I'll do everything I can to defend Impel Down and capture the invaders!"
After hanging up, Garp and Sengoku looked at Kong. He nodded and said, "Ace's identity is indeed up for debate. I'll go inform the Five Elders." With that, the meeting ended. Kong went to find the Five Elders, while Garp and Sengoku went to have a private meeting.
Meanwhile, back in Impel Down, Ikki, Ace, and Buggy had reached Level 5, the Freezing Hell. The prisoners here all had bounties over 100 million. The temperature was colder than any icehouse, and the prisoners' bodies were ravaged by severe frostbite. A massive forest filled with beasts, including Military Wolves that were even more ferocious than the beasts on Level 2, also resided here.
It's also worth noting that no Den Den Mushi had been installed on this floor due to the low temperatures.
Buggy's lips were trembling. "So, who are we saving?" he asked Ikki, "Can you tell me now?"
Ikki smiled at Buggy. "His name is Douglas Bullet."
"Oh! So it's Bul... wait!" Buggy's face suddenly went pale. "You mean Douglas Bullet? Roger's former crew member?!"
"Yeah, that's him," Ikki said. "Since you were one of Roger's former crew members, you must know him well."
"Are you crazy?! You want to release him?! Don't you know he's a monster without Captain Roger to keep him in check?! If he gets out, no one will be able to stop him!" Buggy screamed.
Ikki understood why Buggy was so scared. But was he actually going to release Bullet? Of course not. While Bullet had been a member of Roger's crew, he was also a villain who had committed heinous crimes. Letting him go would betray Ikki's own sense of justice.
He and Ace were only using this as an excuse to break into Level 6. After all, breaking into the lowest level of Impel Down in the name of releasing a former crew member of Roger was the perfect cover for Ace, the son of Roger.
After learning the true purpose of their plan, Buggy stopped shaking and began to frantically explain how dangerous Bullet was and why they absolutely couldn't release him.
Their conversation was interrupted when the three of them encountered a large pack of Military Wolves. Ace immediately took action. Fire was a wolf's greatest weakness. With just two "Fire Fist" attacks, the wolves were sent running in fear.
Between Level 5 and Level 6 is Level 5.5, known as the Newkama Land. The leader of this level is Emporio Ivankov, the Queen of Kamabakka Kingdom. Ivankov was using this place to recruit new talent for the Revolutionary Army. In the original story, if it hadn't been for Luffy, he probably would have just stayed here instead of breaking out.
This time, however, Ikki had no intention of taking Ivankov with them. It would be pointless, since the war was no longer happening.
