Seiji jumped from rooftop to rooftop as if his steps were as light as a feather. His moves were elegant, as his katana was strapped to his waist.
Raien, on the other hand, was rougher with his jumps, and he gave up trying to follow Seiji on the roof and instead ran through the streets.
The two of them were known to be the strongest out of any Elite, which is why their arrival would've meant instant loss for Yamikuro and his friends.
That is while considering the fact that they have never gone all out on anyone, as all of their opponents have been nothing but obstacles to cut through.
Despite Seiji's ties to the Emberveil clan, his mind didn't go over that thought once. To him, the enemies of the law were also his enemies, be they whoever.
The Dorm was visible to the two of them, meaning they were getting close.
"Hm? Where are you two going?" A voice called out for them.
Seiji stopped running, his right hand already drawn to his katana.
Before Seiji stood Eidryn, the Head of Training, handling the training of candidates of the government troops.
None of the troops were called out due to the sudden call, and only the Elites were to handle it, as per Yure's words, who was put in charge of handling Yamikuro, while Kendra, the Head of The Hideout, was busy handling the paperwork from the invasion.
"Step aside," Seiji warned, his eyes squinted, and his long black hair, which was tied together with a piece of cloth, slightly flowed in the wind.
"Hm... You're going after Yamikuro Asaki, aren't you?" Eidryn asked.
Just then, Raien jumped next to Seiji. He didn't want to directly attack Eidryn yet, not before finding out his motive.
"Are you trying to say you'll stop us?" Raien demanded an answer through his deep voice.
"Hm, it wouldn't be stopping if you two turned around, would it?" Eidryn's fluffy middle part was slightly pushed around by the wind.
Seiji pulled out his katana, his eyes completely relaxed, giving him the dangerous vibe that everyone was so afraid of.
"Entertaining you with a fight at a time like this..." Seiji said, his sentence fading into the air.
But that's when he appeared next to Eidryn.
"...I'll have no choice but to cut down another Elite."
Eidryn didn't expect an attack such as that one, especially considering how fast it was. He placed his hand on his chest, where he was cut.
No blood came out, and that's when Seiji realized that he had only cut Eidryn's uniform. Eidryn had his Naiko activated, to which Seiji thought the attack was too predictable.
'He didn't use his Kensei. Hm... He's underestimating me.' Eidryn thought to himself.
Raien hadn't moved yet, standing on the same rooftop, while watching what Seiji was doing.
That's when Eidryn knew that if he stood there for too long, there'd be consequences to both sides, which is why he spoke.
"Neither of you knows about my Kensei, do you? Hm... I suppose I have to showcase it, but know this: There'll be irreversible results."
Meanwhile, near the dormitories' street, where Yamikuro fought Yure, Isabella and Kaminari ran into another threat.
Before them stood Liv, the Head of Defence, her mahogany skin contrasting with the white uniform of the Elites.
Liv rested her left arm on her hip, while slightly leaning to the right, keeping her back straight.
"Stop this instant!" Liv borderline yelled in a commanding tone.
Kaminari froze as Liv's presence felt too strong to resist. His eyes were slightly open, and his lips shut together.
'Man, who is she?' Kaminari thought.
Isabella, who had run beside Kaminari, noticed him stop.
"What're you doing?"
"Sorry... It's just that she's something else..." Kaminari finally opened his mouth.
Isabella, however, didn't seem shaken, gripping onto her sword. Her eyes then went to Liv, who still stood with that almighty presence.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Isabella asked in a slightly annoyed tone, coming from the accumulation of multiple events.
"It doesn't matter who I am."
"...Kind of does."
"Does it now? I don't like people who talk back to me."
Liv dropped her arms beside herself, and Isabella took it as a threat, as if she was about to attack.
Isabella threw her sword before her, hoping to block the attack she wasn't sure she'd catch.
But she was right, Liv did attack.
Her fist collided with Isabella's blade, but instead of cutting through Liv, her force pushed Isabella back. The sword flew into the air, and Isabella was punched against the building behind her.
Liv's punch wasn't that of a Resonant, possibly not even that of a top Graceless, but rather something superhuman.
Kaminari, who wasn't completely paralyzed but was slightly shaken, gathered himself and stepped forward.
"Damnit, I don't want to fight a woman."
Liv eyed Kaminari on her right.
"I can't say I like your mannerisms."
Kaminari raised an eyebrow at that.
"Mannerism? What was that again...?"
Kaminari scratched his blond, overgrown hair, trying to think of the word.
"Whatever! Idontcare."
Liv was confused by Kaminari and his acting. That was the boy who fought alongside Yamikuro the first time the two of them encountered Lucian.
Kaminari charged up his Kensei, gathering electricity to his palms, forming a lightning bolt in each hand.
"Take this!" He yelled, throwing both of them.
Liv dodged them and got ready to attack Kaminari. She moved, thinking she had an opening.
But that's when Isabella appeared next to Liv, her blade already in her hands, and flames followed as she swung.
Whether planned or not, the two of them managed to create an attack that was almost impossible for Liv to entirely dodge.
The blade cut strands of Liv's hair.
'Did she miss?' Liv wondered to herself.
Isabella stood with the flames distinguished from her blade.
"We don't want to fight you."
"Yeah, man, please, just let us go to that other world." Kaminari followed up on Isabella's words.
Liv had technically been beaten, but Isabella and Kaminari didn't want to harm her. They weren't enemies, but rather two sides with different views.
Liv scuffed her foot against the ground while letting out a slight sigh. She didn't want to disobey the law.
"You do know that you won't stop all of us, right?" Isabella noted.
"Go..."
"Huh?" Kaminari asked.
"I've practically lost, so go. Try and change the world, but I hope you know that death is what most likely awaits each of you." Liv said, her eyes locked to the ground.
"Like we're scared of something like that." Kaminari grinned.
But the biggest challenge was only awaiting Yamikuro. Yure was not willing to give up so easily, even if it meant dying against Yamikuro.
And that's why they stood against each other in the same street, eyes locked onto each other.
