Chapter 34 - Monsters

Rael released the first bullet.

He did not stop.

He shook his left hand and formed a second Gauntlet of the Maker.

He shaped another finger gun and aimed both hands at Sister Sophia.

He produced magnetic force streaks, coiled them into bullets, and fired in rapid succession.

Thunder and lightning claps echoed across the junkyard.

The first bullet struck Sister Sophia's back.

More followed like rain on glass, each one punching through and turning her body into Swiss cheese.

Blood fountained from her as though a giant hand squeezed her.

She dropped face first, blood pooling beneath her.

Once the storm ended, silence heavier than every heap in the yard settled.

Although the weight of killing pressed on him, Rael's heart stayed calm.

He watched Sister Sophia's punctured body with sharp eyes.

Too easy.

Sister Sophia twitched and raised a hand, trying to rise.

Rael refused to give her a chance.

The bullets remain within you. Rupture.

The bullets contracted, widening every wound, bursting vessels, and shredding tissue.

He drew iron from the blood, piling on more bleeding.

He blocked any self‑repair and kept inflicting damage.

Sister Sophia toppled like a puppet with cut strings.

She coughed blood yet made no sound of pain.

This devil… a normal human would have screamed already. No, a normal human would have died already.

"Rael, you never hesitate," Sister Sophia said, smiling through blood. "Your heartbeat stays calm, and your attacks leave no room to breathe. I know you have another follow up, but I will not allow it."

She stood despite her ruined organs and released a shock wave.

All bullets blasted out of her body, spraying more blood, and she ignored the loss.

[Her wounds are healing despite Rupture. This supports the idea that she is not human. Below you, Lord Rael!]

Rael leaped aside.

A thin black branch shot from the ground and speared the space he had occupied.

That miss would have cost him dearly.

Thanks, Dominica. Watch the surroundings.

[Yes. Short commands, no explanation.]

Exactly.

"Who are you? What world are you from? Are you part of the Future Eden?" Rael asked during the brief lull.

Shoulders low, clothes shredded and soaked, Sister Sophia laughed. "Me? From another world? I have never left our own. If not for me, you would meet monsters far worse. Perhaps you already have."

Rael narrowed his eyes.

She believed he had joined with the military to eliminate her, just as he believed she was an alien devil.

"That would make both of us the same," she added, blood dripping from her chin.

Rael scowled and raised both finger guns. "Us, the same? You must be kidding."

"You know I use ordinary children to watch the orphans," Sister Sophia said. "They reported your object pulling power. It has not been long since that report. Even with covert training, you are too young to master such skill. Either you are a raw talent or you have military help. Perhaps both. Only then are you the opposite of me."

"I cannot follow your logic," Rael shouted. "I will take being different any day."

"Pulling iron from my blood suits your natural talent, but the rest of your power is too advanced, too lethal," she said, her voice cold as zero. "The quickest path to such strength is Command Genesis. It is new, yet everyone on Earth seeks its cores, especially a Prime Core.

"But no one cares how those cores are made."

Everything around Sister Sophia rattled.

Heaps of machines and appliances compressed under the raw force she emitted.

Shock waves rolled outward, even past Rael, and he swallowed hard.

Sister Sophia's true nature surfaced, her humanity more doubtful than ever.
