Under the sky, clear and bright blue like a deep pool, stood a vast gymnasium.
The transparent glass of the roof was still reflecting the colors of the heavens, shimmering with ripples of blue.
Yet, inside the gymnasium, waves of deafening music carried a momentum that seemed ready to tear open the mirror of the sky, pouring its clamor directly toward Alain's face.
His gaze skimmed over the gymnasium, landing on the ring of barricades encircling the entire building, as well as the bright red "No Entry" icon in the center.
There were no pedestrians around the gymnasium; only a few officers in black uniforms were maintaining order.
Tap, tap, tap.
Miffy and Alain crossed the square together. When they reached the barricades blocking the building, an officer ran over quickly.
Alain looked the girl over. Resting on her dark blue hair was a peaked cap adorned with devil horns. Her outer attire was a rather oversized men's coat, while underneath, she wore a bright red crop top. Her navel, small as a cherry, seemed to be calling out for Alain to taste it.
Her lower body was summarized by a pair of denim hot pants, and on her feet, she wore blue and white sneakers designed for ease of movement.
All in all, aside from the police badge hanging on her coat, there was nothing about her that related to being a police officer.
A Miss Police Officer working in a crop top (lol)?
Of course, Alain recognized her. That Miss Police Officer had noticed his gaze from a distance as well...
Ignoring Miffy completely, she arrived in front of him.
"Hey, Player. I saw you from a mile away. What's with that look? Explain yourself?"
The 'good buddy' in the dream gave his chest a punch that was neither too light nor too heavy. The joy of reunion on her face was impossible to conceal, beaming with smiles.
Her strike made Alain unable to hold back a laugh.
"It's nothing, good buddy. I just can't help but smile when I see you."
"I told you, use my title when I'm working!" The girl finished speaking and deliberately puffed out her chest, as if showing something off.
Alain looked down. His so-called male genetic skills activated, visually estimating that pink tenderness, momentarily confused as to why Millie wanted to display this.
Could it be... they got bigger?
But based on Alain's intuition regarding Mitas, the size was still standard.
No, at times like this, he should set facts aside; complimenting a girl is never wrong.
Alain nodded and spoke, "You've gotten bigger."
"Huh?!" The girl crossed her arms to cover her chest, her face burning red. "You bad buddy, who asked you to look at that?"
She pinched the breast pocket of her coat, displaying it deliberately.
Only then did Alain see the police badge. Compared to the last time, it seemed... a bit shinier...
It was even radiating a golden light under the sun.
Although he didn't understand the specifics, a Golden Legend was definitely a good thing. To summarize...
"You got promoted?" Alain concluded.
"Hmph, hmph~ I'll credit you with a little bit of discernment!" Millie spun around, striking a pose she considered cool. "Now, you shouldn't call me Officer Millie, but—Sergeant Millie!"
"Oh..." Alain clapped his hands in celebration for her.
Miffy, who had been miserably ignored on the side, couldn't take it anymore.
"Why is it that you two always manage to ignore me every time?" She sighed, holding her forehead, and walked behind Millie. "Besides, didn't I give you that promotion?"
"No, no, no, I still have the situation clearly sorted out." Millie appeared particularly shrewd at this moment. "Rather than saying you promoted me, it's better to say... you promoted me for Alain's sake.
"Therefore, even if I have to curry favor, I only need to please Alain. Right? Alain's Dream Lover—Miss Creator?"
Miffy was stunned into silence by this combo of logic. "D-Dream Lover or whatever... I am not."
As she spoke, she glanced at Alain.
Alain noticed her subtle look and naturally understood what kind of answer Miffy wanted.
"Of course, Miss Dream Lover."
"...Annoying." Miffy acted shy.
Alain, meanwhile, clicked his tongue in wonder as he looked at Sergeant Millie, lamenting that this Millie and the Millie in reality had become somewhat distinct.
One could say this was a 'slick veteran' who had survived the workplace for a long time.
At this moment, Alain seemingly heard the [Little Tune of Progress] belonging to Sergeant Millie.
Of course, this version of Millie also extended her own unique charm points.
"Well then, I'll go in first. You exchange pleasantries with Alain a bit longer, then let him in," Miffy said. As if to let her face cool down, she quickly stepped over the safety line and barricades, walking toward the gymnasium.
Thus, for the moment, only Alain and Millie remained alone.
"Alright, good buddy. I don't have anything else to say to you either. Work is important."
Millie waved her hand casually, intending to see the guest off.
Little did she know, at this very moment... Alain hugged her.
"Eh?" The girl raised her head, gazing at the young man's face in confusion.
"We haven't hugged yet, right?" Alain smiled faintly.
He had never forgotten that among the three Mitas of the dreamscape, only this Millie had not had a single bit of physical contact with him.
As a girl who extended the memories of the real-world Millie, he could roughly guess what she was thinking.
Just as he expected, the girl in his arms tightened her grip on her own coat. That previous appearance of a slick veteran flattering her superior ceased to exist...
The blush of a maiden in love filled her face, like pink clouds at twilight.
Alain looked at the coat on her body. He hadn't remembered when he saw her last time, and only now did he have a faint recollection:
Wasn't this the very coat he had given to a Cap-Wearing Mita?
Unexpectedly, he and this Millie had already met in reality long ago.
He didn't point it out, and she didn't point it out; they just quietly enjoyed the warmth.
"Alright, I have to go to work." After a good while, it was Millie who took the initiative to leave his embrace. Without waiting to say goodbye, she ran off quickly.
Facing her retreating figure, Alain waved his hand, then immediately walked toward the gymnasium.
Rumble, rumble...
The soaring electronic music rose with the wind, disturbing the greenery of the square, causing the leaves to sway.
Miffy heard footsteps at the main entrance of the gymnasium and turned her head.
Alain, having finished his warm moment, walked over slowly.
"Done clinging?"
"Mn, now I'm here to find the Dream Lover."
"Sigh... I really don't know if this nickname is a blessing or a curse." Miffy cracked a small joke, her face turning toward the gymnasium that was bursting with electronic music.
Alain came to her side, stopping to observe with her.
"How is it? Did you notice anything?" Miffy asked from beside him.
He answered truthfully, "To be honest, I didn't."
Aside from those caution lines outside, Alain felt that everything outside the gymnasium echoed his impressions perfectly.
Nothing had changed at all.
"Mn, indeed. There are no changes on the outside, but inside..." As Miffy spoke, she walked toward the main gate of the gymnasium.
Creak—
The chaos and colorful flowing lights inside the main gate opened up before Alain's eyes.
