Chapter 293 - Date

"Fixed."

Men seem to have a natural talent for 'manual labor,' so 'repairs' are a piece of cake. Alain thought to himself as he looked at the now-repaired computer chair.

"D-Darling, that's amazing!" The culprit who broke the computer chair—Misha—praised him mindlessly from the side, breaking out in a cold sweat.

Looking closely, you could see a faint awkwardness on the girl's face.

Alain let out a cold laugh. Misha must have realized it after catching up on sleep all night, huh?

He tried asking, "What did you dream about just now?"

Back in the game world, Miffy had used her dream ability to transmit everything the three Mitas did in the dreamscape to their real-world counterparts.

"?!" He could see the long-haired girl's shoulders flinch as she immediately turned her head away.

"I-I didn't dream about anything."

So she did dream about it, then. Time to add some fuel to the fire, Alain thought.

"Actually, all of that was real..." he said, deliberately striking the delicate pose of a fujoshi's victim.

"It all... really happened... in that Mita City."

"Eh?!" Misha responded blankly, her face flushing red as she turned away.

Occasionally, her gaze would drift to Alain, moving from his face down to his chest, then to his butt and thighs.

It felt... pretty good? That dream. At least her real-life self wouldn't have the guts to do it.

"...Why do you have an expression like you're longing for more?" Alain deadpanned.

"Eh?! Longing for more..." Misha strongly objected.

"How could you possibly use that word to describe me?!"

"Even Misha might have a side no one knows about."

In the living room, a bored Miffy flicked through TV channels from the sofa, glancing over at her with a teasing remark.

"Unlike me... Alain, what you see is what you get with me~"

"S-So are you saying I'm two-faced?!" Misha's composure started to crack.

Alain saw the two were about to clash again. A lively atmosphere was nice, but it was giving him a headache.

"Can you two quiet down a bit? You weren't even peaceful while sleeping just now, performing that mysterious ritual."

"Mysterious ritual?!" "What's that?"

Alain's words made the two girls feel as if they had been doing something strange.

But on second thought... it kind of felt that way.

"Oh, let's not talk about that." Miffy put down the remote and trotted over to Alain, hugging his arm tightly.

His arm sank into a full softness, making Alain's eyebrow twitch.

"Now, right now, this instant! Go on a date with me! It's so boring staying at home, there's nothing to do!"

"You could sleep?"

"What's the fun in sleeping? A date, a date!"

"?" Alain found it hard to imagine these were words Miffy would say. Luckily, he had already mentally prepared himself to some extent.

"No!" Misha objected.

"We're about to eat. If you want to go on a date, go after we finish."

"Ehh—"

Miffy's eyes drooped. "Why should I take orders from you?"

"Orders? This is called taking care of things. Alain asked me to!"

"Hmph~ I never asked you to. Don't be so full of yourself, long-haired freak."

"L-Long-haired?"

Misha was stunned. She took a few steps back, grinding her teeth.

"This is... the first time anyone has ever called me that!"

Listening to the commotion, Alain knew the two of them were about to start fighting yet again.

Speaking of which, their compatibility was as bad as ever.

Was it that their personalities were polar opposites, or did Miffy just have a bad impression of Misha from the start?

"Alain, look at her!" Miffy seemed determined to play the victim to the very end, like a little chick protected by a mother hen, hiding behind him.

"Come out from behind Alain if you have the guts!"

Looking at the 'green tea Miffy,' who spoke with a weak tone but was actually sneering, Misha felt a rare surge of anger.

This girl is so infuriating!

"You..." Thankfully, Alain seemed to be on her side. He put a hand on Miffy's shoulder and moved her in front of him.

"Even if it's a date, you should at least ask if it'll interfere with Misha's cooking."

"Tch..." Under Alain's gaze, Miffy pouted unhappily and shot a glare at Misha.

After a few seconds of silence, as if psyching herself up, she spoke.

"Hey, I want to go on a date with Alain. Do you agree?"

"Hmph~"

Misha, as if she hadn't heard a thing, walked over to the refrigerator to organize the ingredients.

"What should I make for lunch?"

"You! You're ignoring me—" Miffy's composure shattered.

Alain advised, "If your tone was a bit nicer, maybe she'd agree."

"...Tone." Miffy asked herself, the thought of politely asking that girl for a date with Alain...

It felt worse than death, like she was losing in some way. A huge, devastating loss at that!

But...

The girl glanced at Alain's profile, lightly biting her lip.

She had a premonition that she probably couldn't stay [here] for long...

If she missed this chance, when would be the next time she could be alone with Alain, let alone go on a date...?

Miffy didn't think she could wait. So—

"Tap, tap, tap"

Misha, still checking ingredients in the fridge, heard footsteps behind her and figured Miffy was about to start her usual pestering routine.

Fortunately, through her interactions with Miffy, she had long since developed a set of skills specifically for dealing with such pestering.

So, that trick won't work on me~ You should just be a good girl and eat first before going on a date—

"Misha..."

But when Miffy's distinctive voice reached her, Misha realized she was wrong.

The card that girl was about to play wasn't pestering. It was—

"I'm sorry, I was wrong..." Her soft tone was like a warm marshmallow, so sweet it nearly made Misha melt.

The long-haired girl turned her head in surprise, only to see Miffy, who had been so confrontational just moments ago, looking at her with lowered, shimmering eyes.

The aggression in her eyes was gone, replaced by a softness as vast as the sea. She looked like a delicate little sister who needed to be protected.

"I just want to go on a date with Alain..."

She looked up at Misha.

"Can I?"

Damn it... She actually pulled this move!

With no other choice... Misha could only agree.

"Honestly... just make sure you come back early."

"See, you can be a little reasonable after all~" Miffy immediately grabbed Alain's hand and dashed out of the small apartment.

Leaving Misha alone with a sigh.

"The fridge is running low on ingredients, so I need to go out too." Misha stayed home for a few more minutes, staggering her departure time from the dating couple, then left as well.

With a click, the large apartment fell silent, leaving only the sunlight that drenched the room, to shine on in solitude.

The light glinted off the black-framed glasses by the computer desk. The lenses reflected the computer chair, disassembled into a pile of parts.

In the empty home, the sound of 'da-da-da' footsteps scattered from somewhere unknown.
