Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Path of Perfection

[Motion correction, movement perfection increased by 4%." "Motion correction, action perfection increased by 3%." "Motion correction, action perfection increased by 2%." ]

Luciel practiced basic swordsmanship nine times, and his proficiency directly increased to 92%.

Luciel felt a noticeable difference after his motion perfection surpassed 90%. Over the past three years, he had practiced basic swordsmanship hundreds of times, but never with the fluidity and natural movement he experienced now. The wooden blade even cut through the air with a fierce wind, exciting him.

During Luciel's tenth practice session, the knight instructor, Julian, was correcting another student's mistakes. As he glanced over, his gaze suddenly stopped.

"Um?!"

Julian's attention sharpened. He recognized Luciel as the student who had previously been overlooked. The standard of his movements was excellent.

Julian watched for a moment, captivated by the smoothness and precision of Luciel's swordsmanship. It was textbook-perfect. Even with his trained eyes, Julian found no flaws. In fact, Luciel's swordsmanship appeared even more refined and standardized than his own in many aspects. Could it be that there was still an undiscovered genius among the students?

Julian walked towards Luciel, trying to recall his name.

[Motion correction, 100% movement completeness, 93% movement perfection]

After ten repetitions, each improvement became more difficult, with only a 1% increase in perfection per exercise. Luciel knew this was due to the limits of his physical fitness, meaning perfection was out of reach for now. He could only continue improving through persistent training.

[Analysis complete. It is estimated that motion perfection will reach 100% after 128 more exercises, and muscle strength will increase after 1,034 exercises.]

[Physical analysis complete: slight muscle sprain on the underside of the right forearm, blood stagnation in the left shoulder and legs. Recommended rest for 12 hours.]

Luciel felt the soreness in his forearm and shook his head. "My physical fitness is still too weak to handle this intensity. I need to stop being lazy and start training harder."

"Display my current physical fitness data."

Luciel silently activated the command in his mind.

["Host: Luciel]

[Strength: 1.3]

[Speed: 1.4]

[Physique: 1.2]

[Will: 2"]

With 1 being the average physical fitness level of a normal adult, Luciel's three years of training had raised his physical stats slightly above average. His willpower, however, was double that of a normal person, possibly due to his unique background.

"There's still a long way to go before I meet the standards for a second-level apprentice knight..."

Luciel mused when a soft cough interrupted his thoughts. Someone was approaching.

"Luciel, isn't it?"

Luciel looked up to see a tall, middle-aged man with a resolute face walking toward him. He set down his long sword with ease.

"It's Luciel Lanster. I have seen Mr. Julian," Luciel replied.

"Luciel..." Julian muttered, as if memorizing his name. He nodded slightly. "Practice your basic swordsmanship again, and show it to me."

"Okay."

Luciel complied without hesitation and began demonstrating the basic swordsmanship once more, executing the textbook moves precisely.

Julian's eyes flickered with surprise and interest. Suddenly, he reached out to grab Luciel's sword.

Startled, Luciel instinctively adapted to the situation, performing a sword move that transitioned into a strike, the blade aimed at Julian's wrist like a venomous snake.

Julian, however, effortlessly caught the blade with his hand.

Luciel felt as though his sword was rooted in Julian's grasp, unable to move.

"Is this all the strength you have?" Julian's eyes betrayed a hint of disappointment. He released the sword and the earlier curiosity vanished.

"Only the strength of a first-level apprentice knight..." Julian shook his head. "The body is the foundation of a knight. Without sufficient strength and physical fitness, no matter how skilled your swordsmanship is, it can't be fully effective. You should focus on improving your physique."

He paused, then added, "If you need help with your practice, feel free to ask me."

Without waiting for a response, Julian turned and left.

Luciel, his calm demeanor unshaken, watched him go. Inwardly, he thought, "What's the result of the analysis?"

[The target physical fitness data is as follows:

Strength: 7.3

Speed: 6.1

Physique: 6.0

Will: 3

Insufficient data, errors may exist in the analysis.]

Julian was a true knight-level powerhouse, his strength, speed, and physique all above 6, indicating that he was no ordinary knight. The difference in their attributes was clear.

Luciel's eyes narrowed with thought, and then determination settled in his expression. He resumed practicing his swordsmanship. After completing 1,034 repetitions, his strength would improve—this was his next small goal.

And so, he pressed on.
