Kira's hologram flickered above the war table, casting hellish red light over the Secret Seven. Vulcaris loomed on-screen a roiling sphere of magma and ash.
"The Y-ven," Kira narrated, zooming in on a serpentine shadow circling a supervolcano. "A Class IV Kaiju. Core temperature: 4,000°C. Its biofield destabilizes tectonic plates."
Favor whistled. "So… kill the dragon, save the planet?"
"Essentially," Faruq said from Earth, his face pixelating on comms. "But if you die, I'm keeping Lucis."
Joshua strapped on his heat-resistant nanosuit. "We'll melt before we fail. Suit up."
Lucis shuddered as it pierced Vulcaris' atmosphere. Teniola gripped her seat, watching lava geysers erupt below. "Remind me why we didn't nuke this place?"
"The Y-ven's energy is symbiotic with the core," Kira said. "Destroy it, and the planet goes supernova."
Barakat snorted. "So we're here to give a lava worm a *hug*?"
The ship lurched. Alarms blared.
"Brace!" Kira yelled.
Lucis crash-landed on a basalt plateau, its shields glowing cherry-red. Outside, sulfurous winds howled.
The team trekked toward the caldera, boots sinking into ashen soil. Joshua's Phoenix Eye flickered, syncing with the planet's geothermal pulse.
"Movement!" Wisdom yelled.
The ground exploded.
The Y-ven surged upward—a kilometer of obsidian scales and molten sinew. Its six eyes locked onto them, burning like dying stars.
"INTRUDERS," it boomed, voice tectonic.
"Oh, it talks," Michael muttered. "Fanastic."
- Teniola rocket-jumped onto its back, drilling ion charges into its spine.
- Chisom hacked its biofield with EMP daggers, creating temporary weak points.
- Barakat taunted it into lava flows, exploiting its aggression.
The Y-ven retaliated, tail-whipping Barakat into a basalt column. She rolled, coughing blood. "Okay, new plan!"
- Wisdom's vines anchored its wings, buying seconds.
- Favor superheated her diamond, slashing its underbelly. Molten ichor sprayed.
- Michael shielded the team from debris, his green gem fracturing under pressure.
Joshua's katana glowed white-hot. "Aim for the—"
"DOWN!" Teniola tackled him as fire engulfed the battlefield.
As they all took cover behind Michael's Shield
"His a lot more tougher than we anticipated" Joshua said
"You guys could retreat and regroup cause it doesn't seem like much is working" Faruq said while monitoring their vitals
"No need i have got a plan though it's quite reckless" Joshua replied while scratching his head
"Shit we're going to die here" Michael groaned while barely holding out.
Crawling from the smoldering crater, Joshua activated comms. "Kira can i regenerate his abilities?"
"Theoretically," Kira said. "But your cells might—"
"don't worry i will be fine."
He charged, Phoenix Eye blazing. The Y-ven struck him mid-leap, fangs sinking into his torso.
"JOSHUA!" Teniola screamed.
Agony. Then—cold.
Joshua's regeneration surged,
Joshua regeneration ability allowed him to regenerate powers and abilities as long as he understood it so using his Phoenix Eye to understand the heat waves emitted by the Y-ven he was able to regenerate the fire power of the Y-ven giving him the ability to generate fire pressure up to a million degrees
"HOT," the Y-ven hissed, as he let go of Joshua while feeling pain in his mouth
Another part of Joshua's regenerative ability is the upgrading of the power he gained and because of his understanding he his able to use the ability to it's full potential, the Y-ven didn't fully understand the essence of his own ability which was his ability to manipulate fire temperature and get the temperature to ridiculously high temperature which he didn't understand so he only used it to create fires and erupt volcanoes but with the insight of the Phoenix Eye which gave Joshua the ability to manipulate fire but on a limited level but another aspect of the Eye was the ability to see temperature levels which gave Joshua the ability to understand the Y-ven's ability.
So now Joshua understanding the Y-ven's ability and gaining it was with the advantage so Fire erupted not the Y-ven's. *His.*
The team watched, stunned, as Joshua wrestled the Kaiju.
"Am i the only ones feeling this heat?" Wisdom whispered.
"no," Chisom realized. "His regeneration copied the Y-ven's abilities, But not just that he's fire is hotter"
Joshua roared, as He burnt the Y-ven's throat, wìth him having the speed advantage it was easy to attack the Y-ven.
So now Joshua infusing the heat unto his katana attacked the Y-ven in it's vital points giving it no room for a breather as the Y-ven in attempt to defend itself went berserk trying to use it's size to it's advantage and firing attacks in every direction but Joshua cleverly put out the attacks by reducing the fire's temperature to room temperature with limiting the damage, and at this point the Y-ven realised there's no hope and attempted to flee but Joshua who was charging up his attack immediately went for the kill moving so fast he rivaled the speed of sound cleanly cutting off the head of the Y-ven before he could even react
Vulcaris' tremors ceased. Joshua collapsed, Teniola reached him first.
"You look like hell," she said, helping him up.
"Feel worse," he croaked.
Faruq's comms crackled. "Readings stable! But uh… Joshua? Your vitals are… weird."
"Later," Joshua said, watching the team tend burns and fractures. "We good?"
Chisom nodded. "Thanks to you going full samurai i lost you at the end yourspeed was incredible."
Barakat grinned. "Next time, let's fight something less death proned but noce job we'll definitely be dead if you weren't here i guess need to train more we were useless today."
Aboard Lucis, Joshua studied his vitals which was crazy because his body he rose to a milliondegrees so some of his organs where fried but luckily he was already regenerating the organs. "Kira. How am i still alive without those organs?"
"your bodies Physiology is quite unique because of your ability soo your primary regenerative abilities kicked in and was continually healing your vital organs," Kira said. "your ability as originally being to regenerate cells but because of it surpassing the limits you gsined the ability regenerate powers you understand as though they're your own."
Teniola lingered at the door. "You scared us."
"Scared myself."
"You're still an idiot," she said. "But… thanks."
As she left, Joshua's Phoenix Eye flickered—gold fighting crimson.
"So what exactly is the ability you gained?" Faruq asked from the screen in front of Joshua
"The ability to manipulate temperature"
"That's cool so what's the limit"
"None that i am aware of although i haven't used it to lower temperature yet, although i guess a limit will be the range which is appropriately 500km. All i just need is to full understand the ability to manipulate water and i can create ice based abilities"
"Wow that's quite the nice ability we'll test it more when you get home"
"Sure"
Then the screen turned off and Joshua lay down and replayed the battle in his mind as he wondered how he was able to run that fast then he realised that he felt that he felt a tug in his chest from the cosmic diamonds around that time.
"So that was why" Joshua said while stroking his non-existent beards and analysing but was was interrupted by EYE who started disturbing him as he closed his eyes and fell asleep completely ignoring EYE
