Chapter 35 - CHAPTER 32: ALFHEIM

After killing the monster, Deimos then checked his system to see the rewards after accomplishing the killing of the Erymanthian Boar.

'System, generate my current stats,' Deimos said, talking to the system in his mind.

'Only six labors are remaining, maybe I could finish it before we kill Mimir,' Deimos thought, while thinking what is the next labor he would summon, after a few seconds, he finally decided.

'System, Summon the Cretan Bull,' Deimos said, deciding that it was time to face the Cretan Bull, realizing that it would most likely be mixed into the Norse Myth that have the same premise, like what happened with the Mares of Diomedes.

Deimos then approached Kratos, who was talking to Freya about how they would cross the Black Breath, especially since even Freya's magic couldn't affect it. He overheard their conversation.

"You would need the Bifrost to erase the traces of the Black Breath. It was powered by the Light of Alfheim," Freya said, answering Kratos' question about where to go next.

"Wait, Alfheim? Does that mean we're going to travel to another realm?" Atreus asked, a hint of excitement in his voice, eager to see a realm beyond Midgard for the first time.

"Wait, what is happening? Why are we going to Alfheim now?" Deimos asked, pretending to be unaware of their next journey.

"The Black Breath is a corruption that cannot be cleansed by just any light. The Light of Alfheim is the only thing capable of purging this kind of corruption, as it is the purest light in all the realms," Freya explained, outlining the advantages of the Light of Alfheim.

"Father, what is your decision then?" Atreus asked after hearing Freya's explanation. Kratos stood silently, analyzing their situation. He weighed whether they were ready to venture into another realm filled with danger. He knew Deimos was strong—but what about Atreus? After much deliberation, Kratos reached a decision, with both Deimos and Atreus looking at him intently.

"We will go to Alfheim," Kratos announced.

Atreus cheered and celebrated, while Deimos simply smiled slightly.

"Alright, let's go. We will use that," Freya said with a smile, pointing and walking toward the Sky Mover.

"We can't. Sindri said it was still under repair," Atreus responded, recalling his conversation with the dwarf.

"Sindri?" Freya asked, wanting to confirm if it was the one she was thinking of.

"Oh, he's the dwarf we met," Atreus said, confirming her suspicion.

"Ohh, I didn't see anyone there earlier. Perhaps he's finished already. Dwarves are awfully resourceful," Freya said.

"And very irritating, based on the two we've met," Kratos added, thinking of Brok and Sindri.

"Come on, Father, they're both funny, you know," Deimos said, laughing at the dwarves' antics.

"Yes, they are often very irritating too… and also funny," Freya agreed, boarding the Sky Mover, followed by Kratos, Atreus, and Deimos.

"There, see that? Just turn it sideways," Freya said, gesturing toward the crank that powered the Sky Mover. Kratos turned it sideways, and the Sky Mover began descending. Because of the height, it took them about five minutes before they saw any buildings.

"That is Tyr's Temple. It's the place where we'll travel to the other realm. It's a good thing it's not submerged in the lake," Freya said, pointing toward the temple.

"Why is that creature at bay?" Kratos asked, referring to the World Serpent, which lay dormant in the lake.

"No one knows. He just appeared one day. Soon after, Thor attacked, and their battle could be felt across all the realms. Ultimately, it ended in a stalemate, and Thor returned to Odin empty-handed. The Serpent stayed and grew so large he now spans all of Midgard," Freya explained, recounting the tale behind the World Serpent.

"See, I told you," Atreus said to Kratos, who hadn't believed that the World Serpent truly spanned all of Midgard.

"It's likely an exaggeration. I mean, if he really does span all of Midgard, why don't we see him in our forest, or even outside it? It's just a way to say he's unbelievably large," Deimos said, also skeptical of the claim.

"Please continue your story, Ms. Witch," Deimos said, with a hint of knowing once again, making Freya think that Deimos is aware of who she is already.

"Well, that's pretty much all, it's just that they've hated each other ever since… destined to kill each other come Ragnarok." Freya then continued her explanation.

"Do you believe in Ragnarok?" Atreus then asked, with a hint of worry in his voice.

"I really wished I don't child," Freya then answered, with a hint of sadness in, since she was foretold that the Ragnarok would start after her sweet boy die.

"Ragnarok is the greatest war that would happen, isn't it?" Deimos suddenly said with excitement, shocking Freya.

"Yes, but I don't think it does not deserves your excitement," Freya then said,

"Why not?" Deimos then asked,

"It's a war that would cost many lives, whether it's innocent or the guilty," Kratos just butt in, knowing war, and wanting to scare Deimos into joining one.

"That is correct," Freya then supported what Kratos said,

"Isn't Ragnarok the end for all things?" Deimos then asked,

"Yes?" Freya answered with confusion,

"Well, isn't that amazing? The end of all things also signifies a new beginning, since Chaos and Order are just two sides of the same coin. One cannot exist without the other. When the world crumbles and the old ways are lost, it does not mean destruction alone—it means transformation. From the ashes of ruin, something new always rises.

People fear the end because they think it is final. But in truth, it is only a threshold. Like night turning into day, or winter yielding to spring, endings are just veiled beginnings. What we call chaos is simply the world rearranging itself, shedding what no longer serves, making space for something greater.

So do not dread the storm, for it only clears the path. Do not curse the darkness, for it makes the light all the more sacred. We walk a path shaped by both forces—order gives us purpose, but chaos gives us growth. Embrace both, and you'll see the truth: that every fall, every collapse, every farewell... is just the start of something yet to come." Deimos then said, surprising both Freya and Kratos with his wisdom at just a young age, while Atreus was just confused about what Deimos said since he doesn't have much experience on destructions.
