"The tunnels beneath the city go on for kilometres. Some sections contain ordinary zombies. Others have evolved ones."
"Were they restrained?" Leng Pan asked.
"No. They stayed still on their own."
"Someone was controlling them."
"Yes."

"There were intelligent zombies among them. They acted like officers. Whenever one moved, the weaker zombies made way."
Leng Pan remembered their earlier suspicions.
The locusts had not eaten the missing zombies.
