He walked to the bathtub and instead of creating a flame, he just made his hands hot and placed them inside the water.
This was another ability that had mutated with his ability to create heat fields. It was the same concept.
He didn't need flame, just the heat. After about two minutes, the water was hot to the touch and Leng Pan touched it to test. It was less hot than she wanted but she knew that her husband wouldn't make it any hotter for fear of burning herself.
