Chapter 46 - The Arachnogorgon

The party gathered closely around Riveria, feeling the onerous darkness of the dungeon closing in on them from all sides. Bell looked at Riveria, her face lit up by a faint, pulsing light coming from her. He could feel the warmth of the light on his skin, a sharp difference from the cold fear surrounding them.

"Gale Wind, if you would, please report to the Guild with Antianeira and fill them in on the latest developments," Finn said.

Ryuu nodded, her face blank.

"Is something wrong, Gale Wind?" Riveria asked.

"No, nothing." She smiled back at Riveria before turning to Aisha. "Let's go, then."

"Lead the way. Haruhime and Mikoto, go with them."

The four left the rest of the party to head back to the surface.

"Riviera, go back to the surface. I cannot ask a pregnant familia member to continue such a perilous quest. Please, for your own sake and that of your child." Finn pleaded.

"I'm sorry, Finn, but I can't. The quest's success relies on my presence, and I can't risk it failing." Riveria replied firmly, her voice steady and confident.

"There's no way I can convince you otherwise, right?" Finn said, resigned.

"No, there isn't," Riveria affirmed, smiling sadly at him.

The others looked at Riveria with concern but knew they couldn't persuade her.

Finn stared at her for a long moment before turning away. He let out a sigh and glanced back at her. "Very well. But please promise me that you will take care of yourself. Stay in the rear and focus on support spells. We can handle the monsters."

Riveria nodded solemnly, "I promise. I will not endanger my child. The Inoborna Ljos. It only works as long as I carry Eirlys."

"I will stay inside, Mama," Eirlys said as her body dematerialized into thousands of shimmering white particles converging into Riveria's abdomen. "This will strengthen the effect of Inorborna Ljos."

The party members watched Riveria's midsection, where Eirlys was speechless and hiding.

"She went back inside her Mama's womb," Bell said softly in awe.

"You don't see that every day," Welf added.

"It's almost as if she's become one with her unborn self," Loki mumbled, impressed.

Finn could only sigh and rub his temples awkwardly. He gave one last look at Riveria, who was gently caressing her belly. "Alright then, everyone. We'll be moving again soon, so be prepared."

Lefiya's eyes widened as she looked at the light. "So this is why we can't send you back to the surface, Riveria-sama."

Riveria nodded, placing a protective hand over her abdomen. "The light shields us from Medusa's venom. As long as you stay close, you're safe."

Bell could feel the warmth from the light. It was reassuring and filled him with the hope that they might find a way out. Riveria's eyes met his. She didn't need to say anything, but he understood her intention.

Asfi adjusted her glasses, focusing on the intricate patterns of light that swirled around them. "Remarkable... It's not just shielding us; it's neutralizing the venom in real-time."

Tiona grinned, though her eyes betrayed a hint of concern. "Guess that means we've got our own little guardian angel in there."

"It appears the Inorborna Ljos allows the future Eirlys to connect with her unborn self, allowing her to materialize in our time." Loki mused, admiring the light with fascination.

Riveria smiled softly, though the weight of their situation pressed heavily on her shoulders. "Eirlys' will to protect us is strong. We mustn't waste it."

Bell reached out, taking Riveria's hand in his. Her hand was soft and warm. "We won't," Bell said confidently.

"Yeah! With the blessing of our little hero in there, we've got this!" Tiona's boisterous voice echoed through the cavernous tunnel.

"It seems breaking up the party is out of the question. None of us will last long without Inorborna Ljos's protection, which requires close proximity to Riveria-sama," Amid said.

Riveria nodded, "That is correct."

Asfi readjusted her glasses, "Very well, then we have no choice but to continue as a group and see this quest through to the bitter end."

"Protecting Riveria is our top priority, then," Finn said.

Loki grinned at them, "Hey kid, knockin' up my Riveria turned out to be a boon! Ya did good!"

Bell blushed, his face flushing red as the others laughed.

"You're taking this surprisingly well, Loki," Tione said with a playful smile.

"Ah, well, I was gonna say, you coulda left a piece of data ass for me, ya know. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do." Loki said with a shrug.

"I am not a sex object, Loki!" Riveria glared at her.

Loki held up her hands in surrender, "Alright, alright, no need to get defensive! You're a lady first, a lovey-dovey pregnant lady now! I don't wanna admit it, but I always knew this day would come. Now, I must relinquish my exclusive access to Riceria's bodacious bosom!"

"Loki, if you don't keep your hands to yourself, you'll lose them. This is your only warning." Riveria said. "Bell Cranel, you may touch my chest if you wish, but you must ask first. Are we clear?"

Bell gulped nervously and nodded, his face still red.

"But even if you touch them without permission, I may forgive you." Riveria smiled slyly, a twinkle in her eye.

Loki gasped, clutching her chest, "Riveriaaaaa, how could you!"

Tiona giggled, "Well, he is her husband, after all. But, I wanna baby too, Argonaut-kun!"

Tione chuckled and shook her head, "You'd better get used to it, New Perseus. They'll all be vying for your attention now. Or at least as long as Riveria will share."

"He's a lucky boy, indeed!" Loki proclaimed. "Riveria, you just stay with your hubby. We'll handle the monsters, so keep us warm and cozy all the way there and back. Then, we can have a party for ya two once we get outta here!"

"Agreed, I shall stay behind the front lines. I will provide support where needed and stay near Bell Cranel." Riveria nodded, placing a hand over her belly.

"How's shrimpy holdin' up?" Loki said, referring to Hestia.

"She hasn't improved," Riveria replied, a worried expression on her face.

Bell glanced over at the goddess, who collapsed onto the floor, tears streaming down her cheeks as she sobbed uncontrollably. She had been in a state of shock since the news had broken. She had known that Bell would eventually find a partner and start a family. But she had hoped that it would be with her. But she knew that she could never give Bell a child. A part of her was happy for them, but another part of her was devastated that her dream would never come true.

"Hestia..." Bell murmured.

The other adventurers looked at her sympathetically, feeling sorry for her.

Bell approached the fallen goddess, kneeling beside her. "Hestia-sama, are you okay?" He asked gently.

Hestia wiped her eyes and sniffled, looking up at him. "Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She said, trying to smile.

Bell frowned, "Are you sure? You don't seem like yourself."

Hestia nodded, "I promise I'll be okay. Just a little shocked, is all."

Bell hesitated for a moment before sighing and standing up. "Alright, just tell me if you need anything. I'm here for you." He said sincerely.

"Thank you, Bell." Hestia smiled sadly.

Bell smiled back before turning to the others. "Let's keep moving." He said determinedly.

The others nodded in agreement.

"Poor Hestia. He's so clueless," Tione whispered to Tiona, shaking her head.

"Yeah, I feel bad for her," Tiona whispered back.

Riveria felt a twinge of guilt as she watched Bell comfort his goddess.

"Let's go. Riveria and Hestia, you two stay close to Bell." Finn instructed. "This place gives me the creeps. My thumb won't stop throbbing. The sooner we clear this place, the better."

Tiona nodded in agreement, "So, this place is where the Arachno-thingy is hiding?"

"According to our intelligence, yes," Finn confirmed.

"Aw yeah, I'm gonna kick its butt! Beating up freaky monsters is my specialty." Tiona grinned excitedly, smacking her fist into her palm.

"But we must stay vigilant," Finn instructed, breaking the brief moment of respite. "We're in an enemy's stronghold, after all."

The group moved together, with Riveria in the middle and Bell beside her. The Inoborna Ljos surrounded them like a magical shield, a sign of the unborn child's strong magic. They pressed on with bravery, their bond strengthening in the protecting light. They found hope in Riveria and Eirlys' shared strength—a beacon of light in the darkness.

As Bell Cranel led his friends through the enemy fortress, they passed under large stone arches. The architecture looked unnerving, with bronze snake decorations on the pillars. Their footsteps echoed off the wet walls as they moved carefully.

"Watch your step," Finn warned, his eyes scanning the floor. "There could be traps anywhere."

Tiona and Tione flanked Riveria protectively, ready to go into a fighting stance at a moment's notice. Ais walked beside Bell, her sword drawn and her senses heightened. Lefiya and Asfi brought up the rear, their magic at the ready.

As they pressed on, they could hear a choir of hisses. Bell held up a hand, signaling the group to stop. He peered over the edge of a pit, his eyes widening at the sight of writhing snakes below. Thousands. A sea of snakes.

"Careful," he whispered. "One bite from those could be fatal."

"How do we get across?" Asfi asked.

"We jump," Finn said.

"Are you crazy?" Hestia exclaimed. "We'll die!"

"Have faith in us. We will protect you." Finn reassured her.

Bell nodded, "It's the only way. If we stay here, the monsters will find us."

Asfi looked uncertain, but she reluctantly agreed. "Very well, but if we're going to do this, we should go quickly."

Finn nodded, "Agreed."

Bell jumped first, landing lightly on the other side. "See? It's not so bad." He said with a nervous grin.

Tiona jumped next, landing next to him with a thud. "That was fun!"

The others followed one after the other until all were safely across. Bell leaped back across the pit, holding Hestia's hand. Ais followed him and took Hestia's other hand.

"Ready?" Ais asked.

"Y-yeah," Hestia replied with a shaky nod.

The two of them leaped, pulling Hestia with them. Hestia shrieked as she was catapulted across the pit. She landed safely in Bell's arms.

"You did it!" Bell said with a grin.

Hestia smiled weakly, "Thanks."

"It's your turn, Loki," Finn called out to her.

"Eh, I'm good," Loki said with a shrug.

"Loki. Quit wasting our time.." Riveria ordered.

Loki sighed in defeat, "Fine."

"You want a hand?" Ais asked her.

Loki shook her head, "Nah, I got this."

"Be careful -"

Loki ran full speed at the pit, leaping across and landing in a superhero pose. "See? Nothing to it! I -"

She shrieked as she lost her footing, almost falling into the snake pit. Finn catches her in the nick of time.

"Loki! What part of careful do you not understand?" Finn said with a sigh of exasperation.

"Sorry," Loki mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.

"Now, let's move," Finn instructed.

They continued down the corridor with their wits about them.

Suddenly, a skeletal figure emerged from the shadows, the empty orbital sockets of what were once its eyes glowing with a sinister red light. It was a Gorgon-Spawn, but not like any they had seen before. Its flesh had long since decayed, leaving only bleached bones and tattered remnants of armor.

The undead creature lunged forward, its maw gaping, exposing its huge fangs. Bell reacted quickly, his knife shimmering in the darkness as he lodged Harped right between the creature's mandible and maxilla.

"Aeriel! Tempest!" Ais bellowed, her wind magic splitting the Gorgon-Spawn down the middle and obliterating its ribcage.

The group stood silently for a moment before Lefiya spoke up, "It was a skeleton."

The pile of bones began to move; the skeleton was putting itself back together.

"You've got to be kidding! It's coming back to life!" Tiona cried in disbelief.

"Ais! Finish it!" Finn commanded.

Ais rushed forward, and with one swift stroke of her Durandal sword, the skeleton was knocked into the snake pit.

Bell let out a sigh of relief, "That was close."

"Proceed with haste and caution; do not let your guard down," Finn warned.

Bell nodded and glanced down at Riveria, who stood beside him.

"You heard him, Bell Cranel," Riveria said with a soft smile.

The adventurers pushed into the darkness, their nerves on edge as they made their way through the stone maze. They crossed a long stone bridge suspended over a vast abyss, their footsteps echoing in the darkness.

"Tione! Tiona! Watch out!"

Retractable spears shot out from the walls, nearly impaling Tiona and Tione. They dodged just in time, their reflexes honed by years of training.

"What the hell?!" Tiona cried in shock.

"Are these boobytraps?" Tione shouted.

"Riveria is a booby trap!" Loki grinned.

"Loki!" Riveria glared at her disapprovingly.

"I can't believe she didn't kill you on the spot." Asfi shook her head in disbelief.

"What? I'm just messin' around." Loki shrugged nonchalantly.

"Loki, now is not the time for jokes," Finn said sternly. "Stay alert! There could be more!"

The adventurers ducked and weaved as more spears launched out of the walls, narrowly missing them.

"This place is a death trap," Riveria murmured, her hand resting protectively on her belly.

Bell nodded grimly. "I'll do whatever I must to protect you and our baby."

"Don't do anything foolish now, Bell Cranel. You might end up leaving me a widow and our child fatherless." Riveria scolded him gently but firmly.

Bell looked at her in surprise; he hadn't expected her to say such a thing. "I-I'm sorry..." He said sheepishly, his cheeks flushing red in embarrassment.

"There's no need to blush. We're married." Riveria chuckled softly.

Bell gulped nervously; it felt surreal. He was married and about to become a father. He'd never dreamed that this would happen to him so soon.

They pressed on, their senses heightened and their weapons at the ready. The fortress seemed to come alive around them, with traps triggering at every turn and skeletal Gorgon-Spawn lurking in the shadows. But they refused to give in, their determination driving them forward.

The group reached a cavernous room with platforms suspended mid-air, leading up to the next floor. Each platform moved in a rhythmic sequence, retracting and extending over a pit teeming with snakes.

"One wrong move, and it's over," Finn muttered, his gaze locked on the shifting platforms. "Bell Cranel, as the New Perseus, I presume you are equipped with the Talaria?"

Bell nodded, "Yes, I have them."

"Then use them. Only you can make it through this room safely." Finn instructed.

Bell nodded again and stepped forward. He leaped onto the first platform, which retracted just as he landed. He used the Talaria to hover as the platforms retracted.

"Keep going!" Ais encouraged him.

Bell nodded and kept jumping from platform to platform, his heart racing as he soared through the air. The others watched with bated breath as he made it through, their relief palpable when he reached the other side.

"Come on!" Bell urged, motioning for the others to follow. "If any of you don't make the jump, I'll dive in and catch you."

Tiona and Tione went next, their agility allowing them to easily navigate the perilous path.

"Riveria, I'll come get you," Bell called out.

Riveria shook her head, "No need."

With steadfast fearlessness, she leaped. Her foot slipped for a split second, but she quickly regained her balance and made it through.

"Riveria-sama!" Bell cried.

"I'm fine, Bell Cranel," Riveria reassured him. "I'm not some helpless princess. I was an adventurer before you were even born."

Bell's face flushed red; he felt silly for worrying about her so much. He knew Riveria was capable and strong, but he couldn't help it; he was her husband now, and his duty was to protect her.

"Beeelllll! Don't leave me behind!" Hestia whined.

"Ya aren't getting left behind, shrimpy!" Loki teased her, giving her a swift kick to the butt and sending her flying across the platforms. "You're welcome!" She said with a wicked grin.

Hestia shrieked as she flew through the air, her arms flailing wildly. "LOKI!" She screamed in rage, but Bell caught her before she fell into the pit of snakes below.

"See? What did I tell ya?" Loki said playfully.

"You did that on purpose!" Hestia cried furiously.

"Hestia-sama, please try not to move so much," Bell said, helping her to her feet. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you."

Hestia pouted but nodded reluctantly. She held on to Bell tightly as they crossed the remaining platforms, following closely behind Finn and Loki.

Amid, Welf, Bete, and Lili went next, with Bete leading the way across, Amid, Welf carrying Lili across.

"I wish it was Master Bell who carried me across!" Lili complained loudly as Welf carried her over his shoulder.

One by one, the remaining adventurers cleared the platforms without incident.

The party was on high alert as they approached a strange structure in the middle of the dungeon. It was a massive cube with an intricate pattern etched into its surface. As they drew closer, the ground began to shake beneath their feet as if something was stirring beneath.

"Look out!" Finn shouted as a monstrous creature emerged from the cube. It was like a giant boulder, with large spikes protruding from its surface and glowing red eyes that pierced the darkness. It crashed to the ground with a deafening roar, sending a wave of dust and debris into the air.

Bell reacted quickly, using the Talaria to leap into the air and rain down a barrage of daggers on the monster's head. The creature howled in pain and swatted him away with a flick of its massive arm.

"Watch out for the spikes!" Finn shouted, raising his shield to block the monster's blows. "Riveria, we need a shield! Use your magic!"

Riveria nodded and began chanting a spell, creating a shimmering wall of light before them.

Then, retractable spikes shot up from the floor without warning. Tiona somersaulted out of their path while Tione smashed through a sentry with her double-headed ax. Finn swung his spear and deflected the spikes while Bete used his gauntlets to shatter them. Hestia clung to Riveria in fear, shaking with every bump.

"Don't worry, we won't let anything happen to you," Ais assured her with a reassuring smile.

The monster retreated inside the cube, which repositioned itself above Riveria. She activated her barrier in the nick of time as the beast emerged from the cube once more in an attempt to crush her with its massive body. The monster crumbled as it collided with Riveria's barrier. The shockwave of the collision also shattered Riveria's barrier, sending her flying.

"Hold on!" Bell shouted, grabbing Riveria's hand and preventing her from sliding into the snake pit below. He pulled her up and held her close, catching his breath.

Riveria's eyes met his briefly before she shoved him away and yelled at him angrily, "Bell Cranel! Do you have a death wish?!"

Bell recoiled in surprise, "N-no! I just wanted to protect you! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you or our baby."

Riveria sighed in exasperation; she could feel Eirlys stirring anxiously within her womb, "Do not risk your life so recklessly! I can look after myself. I may be pregnant, but I am far from helpless. Do you understand?" She said sternly.

Bell nodded guiltily.

"But, thank you... For saving me." Riveria said softly, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. "You were courageous."

Bell smiled sheepishly; his cheeks flushed pink, "You're welcome."

"I can't stay mad at you! You're so adorable!" Riveria giggled and hugged him, resting her head on his shoulder. "But as punishment, you are forbidden from touching my chest for the present time," she said teasingly.

"But Riveria!" Bell protested, pouting cutely.

"But if you're good, I may let you touch my bottom." Riveria winked playfully.

Bell's cheeks turned red as tomatoes.

"You're so cute when you blush! Ahh!" Riveria giggled, covering her mouth with her hand. "Ah, sorry... I don't know what came over me. I'm behaving like a lovestruck maiden."

"It's okay!" Bell chirped, smiling at her. "I think it's cute how you laugh."

Riveria's eyes widened; she felt her cheeks heating up again, "Y-you really think so?"

Bell nodded, "Yeah, I do." He took her hand and held it tightly. "You have a beautiful smile."

Bell felt his heart skip a beat; it was strange to be comforted by the woman who'd just been lecturing him, but it also felt right somehow.

"Hey, lovebirds! Can ya save your lover's quarrel for later?!" Bete snapped them out of their moment. "We got company!"

A group of skeleton Gorgon-Spawns ambushed them from all sides, surrounding them with bony hands and snapping jaws.

Snakes also launched themselves from the pit, snapping at their feet. Bete and the other fighters slammed them down, reducing them to piles of ash and bones.

Finally, they come across a stairway leading to the next floor. As they tried to climb the staircase, each step disappeared right before their eyes. The solid stairway transformed into a steep slope, going down into darkness. At the bottom, many snakes with deadly fangs were ready to strike anyone disturbing their home.

"Whoever made this place must've really hated us," Tiona muttered, glaring at the snakes below.

"We need to get up those steps," Asfi said, her eyes scanning for footholds.

"Damnit!" Finn cursed as he slammed his spear on the ground in frustration. "This is infuriating! We've come all this way, and some damn staircase blocks us?!"

"Finn, calm yourself," Riveria said soothingly as she touched his shoulder. "Anger will only cloud your judgment."

Finn took a deep breath and composed himself, "You're right. I apologize for my outburst."

Bell was frantically searching for a solution, trying to think of something that might get them past the pit of snakes below the stairs.

"We've got to find an anchor point," Finn said, voicing Bell's thoughts. "Something solid we can attach ourselves to so we can climb."

"What about your spears, Finn-sama?" Bell asked.

"No good, the floor is too slippery," Finn replied, shaking his head. "We need something that will hold all of us at once."

Ais stepped forward, "I have an idea. But I need some rope."

Bell pulled out a coil of rope from his pouch and handed it to her. "Here you go!"

Ais tied one end of the rope to her sword and threw it toward the top of the staircase. The blade stuck firmly into the stone, creating an anchor point.

"It'll do," Finn said approvingly.

Bell went first, using the Talaria to fly up the top of the stairs and grab Ais's sword. He held firm as the others climbed the rope.

Tiona went second, grabbing the rope with both hands and holding on tight while Bell pulled her up. Next was Bete, then Finn, then everyone else. Riveria went last; she held her stomach protectively as she sat on the blade, holding Bell's hand tightly.

Bell pulled them up until they were all safely on the other side of the pit. The climb was treacherous and slow, but they reached the next floor together. They gathered close together in exhaustion, taking a moment to catch their breath before moving forward again.

They climbed higher into the fortress, only to find the path ahead littered with new dangers. Trap doors lined the floor, each opening and shutting at irregular intervals, revealing snake pits below.

"Careful where you step," Finn warned them. "I'm afraid we have no choice but to pass through here."

Tiona raised an eyebrow at him, "Are you insane?"

"Well, we can't turn back now," Finn said matter-of-factly.

Bell paused, gauging the timing of the trap doors. "We need to move quickly and precisely."

He jumped to the first safe spot, his heart pounding as he landed just before the door snapped shut.

"Let me go first!" Bete insisted as he rushed past him. "I'll show you how it's done!" He leaped from platform to platform with ease.

Bete paused before a trap door, waiting for it to open before stepping forward again.

"See? Easy!" Bete taunted them.

Bell nodded in awe. "All right, let's go!"

The party followed after Bell and Bete, each member taking their turn to cross the room. Asfi went next, Tiona and Tione, Lefiya, Riveria, Hestia, and Loki, and finally Welf and Finn brought up the rear.

Tiona glanced back at the closing trap doors. "That was too close."

"That was the point," Riveria remarked with a wry smile. "A fitting challenge for us."

They moved on, only to be greeted by another peril: flamethrowers embedded in the walls and floors. They spewed jets of fire at random intervals, turning the corridor into a gauntlet of flames.

"Holy crap!" Tiona gasped as she ducked and rolled out of the way of a blast of fire.

The adventurers scattered and ran from the flames as best they could, dodging and ducking for cover wherever they could find it. The corridors filled with smoke and heat as the fire roared around them.

"Is this place trying to roast us alive?" Tiona cried as she hid behind a pillar with Lefiya.

"How cruel!" Lefiya replied.

"Stay low and watch for patterns," Finn advised, dropping to a crouch.

Bell observed the flamethrowers, noting their timing. "Follow me," he urged.

He dashed forward, rolling under a burst of fire just in time. Ais mirrored his movements, followed by Tiona and Tione. Riveria moved cautiously but steadily, with Hestia clinging tightly to her back. Asfi sprinted through next, her agility allowing her to precisely dodge each fiery blast. Lefiya hesitated but took a deep breath and ran after them, barely escaping a jet of flame that singed her cloak. The others followed Bell's lead as best they could until they reached the end of the corridor unscathed.

"Phew!" Tiona sighed in relief, wiping beads of sweat from her forehead.

They reached a brief respite area where the flamethrowers ceased. Finn wiped the sweat from his brow, glancing back at his companions. "Everyone okay?"

"Just a little singed," Lefiya admitted with a weak smile.

Riveria nodded and rolled her shoulders with a grimace. "I think I sprained my ankle. It's nothing serious, but I won't be able to run again for a while."

"I'll carry you," Bell offered immediately.

"There is no need," Riveria insisted. "You're not a unicorn, Bell Cranel. Let Amid tend to it."

Amid examined Riveria's ankle and used healing magic on it, which healed the injury in seconds. "You'll be fine now," she reassured her.

"Let's move," Finn ordered, and they continued down the corridor.

The path ahead was no less daunting. More trap doors yawned open intermittently while flamethrowers roared nearby. Each step had to be calculated with meticulous precision.

Bell led the way again, timing his movements between the closing trap doors and spurts of fire. He jumped from one safe spot to another, feeling the heat from the flamethrowers singe his boots.

Ais was right behind him, her eyes locked on Bell's movements for guidance. Tiona and Tione navigated the traps with their usual agility while Riveria and Hestia carefully maneuvered around them together.

Lefiya trembled in fear as she followed the others through the gauntlet of flames, nearly being incinerated at one point but rolling out of harm's way just in time.

Finn then guided Lefiya through the obstacles while Asfi provided cover for anyone lagging behind. Bete brought up the rear, sneering at their weakness as he quickly flew past them.

Bell had never felt so tested as he navigated this torturous gauntlet with the goddess on his back.

Bell let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "Let's keep moving," he urged as they continued their ascent through Arachnogorgon's fortress.

A deep rumbling resonated through the stone walls asdeep rumbling resonated through the stone wa Dust rained down from above, and the ceiling began to crack ominously.

"The ceiling!" Finn shouted. "It's coming down!"

Chunks of stone started to fall, crashing around them with deafening force. Bell's heart raced as he glanced up, realizing they would be crushed if they didn't act quickly.

"We need to move!" Ais yelled, urgency in her voice.

Bell sprinted forward, leading the way through the crumbling corridor. Tiona and Tione took up the rear, urging the others onward. As the group escaped, a large chunk of the ceiling gave way, plummeting towards them. Bell dove out of its path just in time, pulling Riveria with him. Ais stayed close beside him, her sword ready to deflect any large stones.

Tiona and Tione smashed through more minor obstacles with their weapons, clearing a path for the others. Finn navigated the falling rubble with calculated steps, ensuring everyone stayed together.

A massive chunk of the ceiling gave way directly above them. Bell's eyes dilated as he saw it falling towards Riveria and Lefiya. Without hesitation, he dashed back and shoved them aside just in time. The impact knocked him off his feet as he watched the rubble smash against the floor.

Bell stood up and looked around, "Everyone all right?" He asked nervously.

"Bell Cranel! You're actions teeter on suicidal!" Riveria scolded him.

"I'm sorry..." Bell murmured meekly. "I just reacted without thinking."

Riveria shook her head in exasperation as she led Hestia onward, "Next time, use your head. Let's keep going."

Asfi scanned their surroundings, looking for an escape route. "This way!" she called out, pointing to a side passage that seemed less affected by the collapsing ceiling.

The group changed direction, racing towards the side passage. The rumbling grew louder, and the floor began to tremble beneath their feet.

"We're almost there!" Finn encouraged them as they neared the passage.

Ais darted ahead to ensure it was clear. "Hurry!"

Just as they reached the passage entrance, a huge chunk of ceiling crashed down behind them, sealing off their previous path with a cloud of dust and debris.

The group breathed heavily as they steadied themselves, glancing back at the newly-formed wall behind them.

"That was close," Finn said with a sigh of relief.

Bell nodded in agreement.

They continued down the side passage, their pace relentless despite the danger looming above them. The rumbling began to subside slightly as they moved further away from the crumbling section of the fortress.

Riveria placed a reassuring hand on Bell's arm. "Well done," she whispered, her green eyes glinting with pride. "You did good, Bell Cranel."

Bell blushed, embarrassed by the praise, "I-it's nothing..."

He gave her a quick nod before returning to leading them through the labyrinthine passages. They couldn't afford to slow down; Arachnogorgon's lair awaited them ahead.

Bell and his companions entered the maze, a suffocating fog of poison gas seeping through the walls. The air turned thick and acrid, burning their throats with each breath.

"Cover your mouths," Finn instructed, wrapping cloth around his mouth and nose. The others did likewise as they moved carefully through the fog.

Bell felt his throat begin to burn, struggling to breathe through the stifling cloud. His head felt light and dizzy, his vision blurred at the edges. He fought through it, determined not to collapse before reaching the end of this hellish maze.

They moved forward cautiously, the labyrinth twisting and turning in unpredictable ways.

"We need to keep moving," Ais urged, her voice muffled by the cloth. "Standing still will only make it worse."

They advanced deeper into the maze, each turn looking identical to the last. The walls seemed to close in on them, and Bell's heart pounded in his chest. Every second counted; the poison gas was relentless.

"Left!" Tiona called out as they reached a fork. "I remember seeing markings on this path."

Bell led the way down the left passage, trusting Tiona's instincts. The gas grew thicker, making it harder to see. He could feel its effects weighing on him—his limbs felt heavy, and his vision blurred at the edges.

"We're getting close," Asfi said between shallow breaths. "I can sense a draft... fresh air from ahead."

Encouraged by her words, they braved the deadly gas of the catacombs before them. The maze continued to challenge them with dead ends and sudden twists. Each wrong turn meant more time lost to the poison seeping into their lungs.

"Over here!" Lefiya pointed to an alcove where a faint breeze could be felt.

They hurried towards it, finding another passage that led upwards. The fresh air grew stronger with each step, clearing their minds and easing their breathing.

"We're almost there," Bell urged, feeling a surge of hope.

The group emerged from the maze into a large chamber with an ornate staircase leading to the next floor. The poison gas dissipated behind them as if held back by an invisible barrier.

"We made it!" Tiona exclaimed excitedly.

"I can't believe we did it..." Hestia said in amazement, shaking her head in disbelief.

They let out a collective sigh of relief as they gathered in the center of the chamber.

Bell looked around at his companions, all showing signs of exhaustion but far from deterred. "Everyone all right?"

Riveria nodded, "Yes, we're fine. We must not delay. We must go on before something else happens."

"Then let's keep moving," Bell said resolutely. "Can't be much further now."

As they climbed the narrow, spiraling staircase, their footsteps echoed against the ancient stone walls. They left behind the twisting labyrinth that threatened to trap them. Undeterred, they were determined to penetrate the inner sanctum of Arachnogorgon's imposing stronghold.

As Bell and his friends entered the next room, they saw a concerning sight. Giant pendulums, each with a cluster of dangerous mines at the tip, swung back and forth. The air was filled with the sound of their movement, and the mines emitted a glowing, ominous light.

Finn raised his hand, signaling the group to halt. "We need to time this perfectly," he cautioned, speaking urgently. "One wrong move, and we're finished."

Bell observed the pendulums, checking their speed and rhythm. The tension in the air was noticeable. "I'll go first," he said confidently, despite the danger.

Ais stepped up beside him. "We'll go together."

They both focused on the swinging mines with deadly pendulums, getting perilously close to the floor. Bell waited for the right moment, then quickly moved forward with Ais by his side.

They skillfully maneuvered through the swinging mines, reaching the other side unharmed and then helping others navigate the dangerous passage.

"Now!" Bell called out as another safe window appeared.

Tiona and Tione dashed, using quick reflexes to avoid the swinging pendulums. Tiona almost slipped but regained her balance just in time to avoid a mine.

"Watch your step!" Tione shouted as they made it across.

Riveria took a deep breath, feeling the strength of her unborn child within her, giving her courage. With Finn and Asfi flanking her protectively, she moved forward with measured steps.

"Stay close," Finn instructed, his eyes never leaving the swinging pendulums.

They moved together perfectly, timing their steps to avoid the dangerous mine areas. Riveria's heart raced as she focused on reaching the other side safely.

Lefiya followed Bell's instructions, moving swiftly but cautiously through the swinging pendulums.

"Almost there," Asfi encouraged from across the chamber.

Lefiya made it to safety just as a mine swung past behind her. She let out a breath of relief and turned to watch for any stragglers.

Finn nodded at Bell, signaling that everyone had made it through safely. They regrouped on the other side of the chamber, their breaths coming in heavy gasps from the tension.

"We did it," Bell said, feeling a sense of accomplishment despite the dangers ahead.

As they delved deeper into Arachnogorgon's fortress, Bell and his companions found themselves in a long, narrow corridor adorned with serpent carvings and ancient runes. Their cautious footsteps broke the silence.

Suddenly, a deep rumbling sound echoed through the passage. The floor beneath their feet began to tremble, and the carvings on the walls started to glow with an ominous red light.

"What's happening?" Lefiya asked, her voice trembling.

Finn's pupils dilated in realization. "It's a trap! Everyone, get ready to—"

Before he could finish his warning, the corridor was choked with thousands of snakes heading straight for them. A massive army of fangs and coils was rushing at them, a seemingly never-ending wave of reptilian menace. The group stared in horror as the sea of snakes overwhelmed them in seconds.

"The hallway is crawling with snakes!"

"Take cover!" Ais shouted, pushing Bell and Riveria behind a nearby pillar.

The rest of the group also dove for cover, crouching down with their backs pressed against the walls. The horde of snakes surged past them, nearly crushing them under its weight. They could hear the hissing of countless serpents filling their ears, accompanied by the clicking of their teeth and nails on stone.

As suddenly as it had come, the wave of snakes passed on. The corridor was now eerily silent once more.

Bell peered around the pillar cautiously, his heart pounding wildly.

Gareth, who had been at the group's rear, acted without hesitation. He charged forward, placing himself directly in the path of the wave of serpents. His massive frame acted as a shield, protecting the others from the worst of the swarm. Before long, they were all over him. He struck the ground hard with his war ax, creating a powerful shockwave that sent the snakes scattering in all directions. The creatures were repelled, giving the group enough time to retreat safely to the previous chamber.

"Gareth!" Ais cried out in horror as she watched the deadly serpents swarm all over him.

The stocky dwarf's body was covered in vicious bite marks and lacerations from the snake venom coating their fangs. He fell to one knee, his strength sapped by the potent poison coursing through his veins.

He gritted his teeth, his skin turning pale from the toxins. "You've gotta keep going," he gasped weakly through clenched jaws. "Leave me behind. I'll only slow you down."

"We can't abandon you, foolish dwarf!" Riveria protested, shaking her head.

"Go!" he roared fiercely, struggling to maintain consciousness. "I'll hold off these vile creatures!"

Tiona rushed forward with tears in her eyes and grabbed Gareth's arm, refusing to leave him behind. "No! I won't let you die here!" she cried as she tried to pull him away from the serpents surrounding them.

"I'll be fine. I'll just slow you down anyway," Gareth wheezed as his body swayed unsteadily. "Go on without me!"

"But-"

"Enough! There's no time for arguing!" Finn intervened firmly, stepping forward and grabbing Tiona by the scruff of her neck. "Get out of here!"

Bell hesitated for a split second, torn between the urge to help Gareth and the need to protect the others. But he knew Gareth's sacrifice would be in vain if they didn't press on.

"Come on, we have to keep moving!" Finn urged.

They hurried past Gareth with heavy hearts, shielding their faces from the onslaught of millions of snakes. The dwarf remained standing, his body a living barrier against the serpents.

As they reached the end of the corridor and turned the corner, Bell glanced back one last time. Gareth was still there, his form silhouetted against the tide of snakes. He had given everything to ensure their safety.

Bell swallowed the lump in his throat and pressed on without looking back. They could not afford to lose hope. Gareth had sacrificed himself so that they could continue their mission.

Riveria looked at Bell with worry in her emerald eyes as they continued into the unknown.

Gareth weathered the storm of snakes as the flood of serpents washed all over his body, lying prone on the stone floor. The serpent army soon disappeared into the darkness.

Loki and Hestia rushed to Gareth's side as the others continued their ascent through Arachnogorgon's fortress. The dwarf lay motionless, his body covered in bites and scratches from the snakes' fangs and claws. He had fought bravely until the bitter end, buying them precious time to escape.

"Oh, Gareth..." Loki sobbed quietly as she cradled his lifeless body in her arms.

Hestia knelt beside him, her hands trembling as she checked for a pulse. "He's alive," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. "But barely."

The dwarf stirred slightly, his eyelids fluttering open. "Leave me here..." he gasped weakly, struggling to speak through his parched lips and swollen tongue.

Loki shook her head and held him tightly. "Not gonna happen," she replied stubbornly. "We're taking you with us."

"I promise I won't let him die," Amid assured them, placing her hand on Gareth's forehead. Her magic began to flow through him, cleansing his body of toxins and healing his wounds. "He will live."

"Thank you," Loki whispered gratefully as she watched Amid work.

Slowly but surely, the dwarf's breathing became more stable, and the worst of his wounds began to fade.

"I've stabilized him," Amid said, "but he won't be able to fight anytime soon."

"He's going to make it," Hestia said, her voice filled with relief.

Loki nodded, wiping the sweat from her brow. "He's a tough one, that's for sure. Let's get moving."

With the dwarf propped up between them, the two goddesses moved quickly to catch up with the others. They were determined to join forces and defeat Arachnogorgon before it was too late.

They carefully moved Gareth to a safer location, ensuring he was comfortable. Hestia fashioned a makeshift bed out of her cloak while Loki watched for potential threats.

"We'll stay with him until he regains consciousness," Hestia said, settling beside the injured dwarf. "Bell and the others are counting on us to keep Gareth safe."

Loki agreed, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger. "They're facing unimaginable horrors up there," she said, her voice tinged with worry. "But I have faith in them."

As they kept vigil over Gareth, Loki, and Hestia could only hope that their children would emerge victorious from the depths of Medusa's lair. The fate of their familias, and perhaps the entire world, rested on the shoulders of Bell and his brave companions.

A sense of dread settled over them as Bell and his companions approached the ominous door. They knew that beyond this threshold, and they would face Arachnogorgon again—the terrifying Medusa head that walked on spider legs, the boss of this mini-dungeon.

Bell's hand tightened around the hilt of his sword, his heart pounding in his chest. He glanced at Riveria, who stood beside him with a determined expression. Her unborn child's magic pulsed within her, a reminder of what they were fighting for.

"Are you ready?" Ais asked, her voice steady despite the tension in the air.

Bell nodded, his eyes fixed on the door. "Let's do this."

Together, they pushed open the heavy door, which creaked with an ominous groan. As they stepped inside, the chamber beyond was shrouded in darkness. The air was thick with the stench of decay and the skittering of countless legs.

Suddenly, torches along the walls burst to life, casting an eerie glow over the room. In the center, perched atop a mound of bones and webbing, was Arachnogorgon. Its grotesque head swiveled to face them, its eyes glinting with malice.

"Welcome back, little adventurers," it hissed, its voice like the scraping of a thousand knives. "I see you've brought me more playthings."

As if on cue, smaller Medusa heads on spider legs began to emerge from the shadows, their fangs dripping with venom. They skittered towards the group, their movements erratic and hungry.

"Stay close!" Finn shouted his spear at the ready. "Don't let them surround us!"

The adventurers formed a tight circle, their weapons drawn and their eyes scanning the approaching horde. Bell's heart raced as he watched the monstrous creatures closing in, their numbers seemingly infinite.

Arachnogorgon cackled with delight, its laughter echoing off the walls. "You cannot hope to defeat me," it taunted. "I will feast on your flesh and add your bones to my collection."

Bell gritted his teeth, his resolve hardening. He knew this battle would be their most challenging yet, but he refused to let Arachnogorgon's words shake him. They had come too far to turn back now.

With a fierce battle cry, the adventurers charged forward, meeting the onslaught of Medusa heads head-on. The chamber erupted into a whirlwind of clashing weapons and hissing monsters as the final confrontation began.

The Arachnogorgon's hideous laughter filled the chamber as it swung from the ceiling on a thread of spider silk, its movements erratic and unpredictable. The adventurers watched in horror as it opened its maw, spitting a barrage of fireballs that homed in on their position.

"Scatter!" Finn shouted, diving to the side as a fireball exploded where he had been standing moments before.

The group split apart, with each member dodging and weaving to avoid deadly projectiles. Bell rolled to the ground, feeling the fireball's heat singe his hair as it narrowly missed him.

Ais and Tiona leaped into action, their weapons flashing as they attempted to deflect the fireballs. But the Arachnogorgon's aim was precise, and the homing nature of the projectiles made them difficult to counter.

Riveria stepped forward, her staff glowing with arcane energy. She chanted a spell, and a shimmering barrier appeared around the group, absorbing the impact of the fireballs. But even her magic strained under the relentless assault.

"We need to bring it down!" Tione shouted, her eyes tracking the Arachnogorgon's erratic movements.

Bell's mind raced as he tried to formulate a plan. The Arachnogorgon's mobility and ranged attacks made it a formidable foe. They needed to find a way to ground it and engage in close combat.

Lefiya's eyes widened as an idea struck her. "The thread!" she exclaimed. "If we can sever the thread it's using to swing, we can force it to fight on our terms!"

Bell nodded, understanding dawning on him. "Ais, Tiona, can you keep its attention focused on you?" he asked, his voice urgent.

The two sword princesses nodded, their expressions determined. They launched into the air, their blades flashing as they engaged the Arachnogorgon in a deadly dance.

While Ais and Tiona kept the monster occupied, Bell and the others searched for an opening. Asfi readied her crossbow, aiming for the thread that tethered the Arachnogorgon to the ceiling.

"Now!" Bell shouted as Ais and Tiona forced the monster to swing low.

Asfi fired, her bolt cutting through the air with precision. It struck the thread, severing it cleanly. The Arachnogorgon let out a shriek of rage as it plummeted to the ground, its mobility suddenly stripped away.

The adventurers surged forward, their weapons at the ready. They knew the real battle was about to begin but were determined to face it head-on. With the Arachnogorgon grounded, they stood a better chance of defeating the monstrous creature and ending Medusa's reign of terror.

The Arachnogorgon screeched in pain as Bell's sword found its mark, slicing through the monster's grotesque flesh. The adventurers pressed their advantage, their weapons striking with precision and fury. For a moment, it seemed as though victory was within reach.

But the Arachnogorgon was far from defeated. With a sudden burst of speed, it scuttled up the wall, its spider legs finding purchase on the rough stone. It climbed higher and higher until it was out of reach of the adventurers' blades.

"It's retreating!" Tiona shouted, her eyes wide with disbelief.

The Arachnogorgon perched on the ceiling, its body heaving with labored breaths. Then, with a sickening gurgle, it began to vomit a thick, black substance reeked of decay and corruption.

The substance hit the ground with a sickening splatter, and countless smaller Medusa heads began to emerge from it. They were grotesque miniatures of the Arachnogorgon, their eyes glinting with malice and hunger.

"By the gods," Riveria whispered, her face pale with horror.

The smaller Medusa heads swarmed towards the adventurers, their fangs bared and their movements erratic. They skittered across the floor, the walls, and even the ceiling, their numbers growing by the second.

"We have to take them out!" Finn shouted, his spear already in motion.

The adventurers sprang into action, their weapons flashing as they met the onslaught of the smaller Medusa heads. Bell's sword cleaved through the monsters, their bodies bursting into clouds of acrid smoke.

Ais and Tiona fought back-to-back, their blades a whirlwind of death as they cut down the creatures ruthlessly. Lefiya's magic filled the air, bolts of arcane energy searing through the horde.

But for every Medusa head they defeated, two more seemed to take its place. The Arachnogorgon watched from above, its laughter echoing through the chamber as it spawned more and more of its twisted offspring.

"There's no end to them!" Asfi cried out, her crossbow firing as fast as she could reload it.

Bell gritted his teeth, his mind racing as he tried to find a way to turn the tide. They couldn't keep fighting like this forever. They needed to find a way to stop the Arachnogorgon from spawning more creatures, or they would be overwhelmed.

"We have to take out the source!" he shouted, his voice rising above the chaos of battle. "Focus on the Arachnogorgon!"

The adventurers redoubled their efforts, their attacks shifting from the smaller Medusa heads to the monstrous creature above. They knew that if they could bring down the Arachnogorgon, the tide of battle would turn in their favor.

The adventurers fought valiantly, cutting down the smaller Medusa heads with every swing of their weapons. The chamber echoed with the sounds of battle, the clashing of steel against monstrous flesh. Slowly but surely, they began to thin out the horde, creating a path towards the Arachnogorgon.

But the monstrous creature was far from finished. With a sudden movement, it launched itself from the ceiling, swinging on a new spider silk thread. This time, however, its movements were even more erratic and unpredictable. It bounced as it turned, its grotesque body twisting and contorting midair.

"Watch out!" Finn shouted, his eyes wide with alarm. "It's changing its attack pattern!"

The adventurers scrambled to adjust their tactics, their weapons at the ready. But the Arachnogorgon's new movement made it even harder to predict its trajectory. Its bouncing motion caused it to suddenly change direction, making it nearly impossible to land a clean hit.

To make matters worse, the Arachnogorgon had surrounded itself with a protective shield of smaller Medusa heads. The creatures clung to its body, their fangs bared and their eyes glinting with malice. They acted as living armor, absorbing the blows of the adventurers' weapons and protecting their monstrous master.

Bell gritted his teeth, his frustration mounting. Whenever they seemed to get close to the Arachnogorgon, it would bounce out of reach, or its minions would intercept their attacks. They needed to find a way to break through its defenses and sever the thread that allowed it to swing freely.

"We need to coordinate our attacks!" Ais shouted, her sword flashing as she cut down a smaller Medusa head. "If we strike together, we might be able to create an opening!"

The adventurers nodded, their determination renewed. They began to move as one, their weapons striking in unison. Tiona and Tione focused on the smaller Medusa heads, their blades cutting through the creatures with deadly precision. Ais and Bell targeted the Arachnogorgon, their swords seeking any vulnerability in its armor.

Lefiya and Riveria provided support from a distance, their magic raining down upon the monstrous creature. Asfi's crossbow bolts pierced the smaller Medusa heads, thinning out their numbers and weakening the Arachnogorgon's defenses.

The battle raged on, the adventurers pushing themselves to their limits. They knew they had to find a way to bring down the Arachnogorgon, or they would be trapped in this nightmare forever. With every swing of their weapons and every burst of magic, they inched closer to their goal, determined to emerge victorious no matter the cost.

Ais's sword flashed through the air, her blade cutting cleanly through the Arachnogorgon's thread once more. The monstrous creature let out a shriek of rage as it plummeted to the ground, its body slamming against the stone floor with a sickening crunch.

The adventurers seized the opportunity, their weapons descending upon the stunned monster with renewed vigor. Bell's sword plunged into the Arachnogorgon's grotesque flesh, black ichor spurting from the wound. Tiona and Tione's blades hacked at its spider legs, severing them one by one.

For a moment, it seemed they had gained the upper hand. The Arachnogorgon writhed in pain, its movements sluggish and uncoordinated. But the monstrous creature began to recover as quickly as it had fallen.

With a sudden burst of strength, the Arachnogorgon hauled itself back up the wall, its remaining legs finding purchase on the rough stone. It climbed higher and higher until it was again out of reach of the adventurers' blades.

The adventurers watched in horror as the Arachnogorgon perched on the ceiling, its body heaving with labored breaths. Then, with a sickening gurgle, it began to vomit a thick, crimson substance that reeked of blood and decay.

The blood hit the ground with a sickening splatter, and an even larger wave of Medusa heads emerged from it. They were more enormous and grotesque than before, their eyes glinting with an insatiable hunger for flesh.

"By the gods," Riveria whispered, her face pale with horror. "It's spawning even more of them!"

The Medusa heads swarmed towards the adventurers, their numbers far more significant than before. They skittered across the floor, the walls, and even the ceiling, their movements even more erratic and unpredictable than before.

The adventurers braced themselves for the onslaught, their weapons at the ready. They knew they had to find a way to stop the Arachnogorgon from spawning more creatures, or they would be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the Medusa heads.

The adventurers fought with renewed determination, their weapons cutting through the swarm of Medusa heads. The chamber echoed with the sounds of battle, the clashing of steel against monstrous flesh. Slowly but surely, they began to thin out the horde, their skills and teamwork proving superior to the creatures' mindless aggression.

But even as they cleared the wave, a new horror awaited them. The Arachnogorgon, perched on the ceiling, began to bounce up and down using its silk thread. Its movements were erratic and unpredictable, making it nearly impossible to track. It swung from one side of the chamber to the other, its grotesque body twisting and contorting in midair.

And then, it began to vomit blood once more. The crimson substance splattered against the ground, and a new wave of Medusa heads emerged from it. But these creatures were different. They mimicked the Arachnogorgon's patterns, bouncing up and down on their own threads of silk.

The adventurers watched in horror as the Medusa heads swung towards them, their movements even more chaotic than before. They came from all directions, their fangs bared and their eyes glinting with malice.

"Watch out!" Finn shouted, his spear already in motion. "They're coming from above!"

The adventurers scrambled to adjust their tactics, their weapons slicing through the air as they tried to intercept the bouncing Medusa heads. But the creatures were fast and agile, their silk threads instantly allowing them to change direction.

Bell gritted his teeth as he swung his sword, trying to anticipate the movements of the Medusa heads. Ais and Tiona fought beside him, their blades flashing as they cut through the creatures. Lefiya and Riveria provided support from a distance, their magic raining down upon the bouncing horrors.

But even as they fought, the Arachnogorgon continued spawning more Medusa heads. The adventurers knew that they had to find a way to stop the monstrous creature, or they would be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of its twisted offspring.

The adventurers fought with renewed determination, their weapons cutting through the swarm of bouncing Medusa heads. The chamber echoed with the sounds of battle, the clashing of steel against monstrous flesh. They knew that they had to find a way to stop the Arachnogorgon from spawning more creatures, or they would be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of its twisted offspring.

"We have to cut its thread again!" Ais shouted, her sword flashing as she cut down a Medusa head. "It's the only way to bring it down!"

The adventurers nodded, their eyes scanning the chamber for an opening. They knew that they had to time their attack perfectly, or they would miss their chance.

And then, they saw it. The Arachnogorgon swung low, its grotesque body twisting in midair. Tiona and Tione leaped into action, their blades flashing as they intercepted the monster's trajectory.

Tiona's sword cleaved through the Arachnogorgon's thread with a mighty swing, severing it cleanly. The monstrous creature let out a shriek of rage as it plummeted to the ground, its body slamming against the stone floor with a sickening crunch.

Bell seized the opportunity, his hand glowing with a brilliant white light. The sound of church bells filled the air, growing louder and louder with each passing second. He focused his mind, channeling all his strength and courage into his hand.

And then, with a mighty cry, Bell charged forward, his hand pulsing with a blinding radiance. He leaped into the air, his body arcing towards the stunned Arachnogorgon.

The monster's eyes widened in horror as it saw Bell descending upon it, his hand glowing with the power of a hero's strike. It tried to move, to scuttle away, but it was too late.

Bell's hand slammed into the Arachnogorgon's grotesque flesh, and the brilliant white light exploded outwards in a dazzling display of power. The monster let out a final, agonized shriek as the light consumed it, disintegrating its body into ash and smoke.

The adventurers watched in awe as the light faded, revealing Bell standing triumphant over the remains of the Arachnogorgon. The chamber fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the exhausted adventurers.

They had done it. They had defeated the monstrous creature and ended its reign of terror. But they knew that their battle was far from over. Medusa still lurked in the dungeon's depths, and they would not rest until they had ended her evil once and for all.

As the last echoes of the Arachnogorgon's final shriek faded, the chamber settled into an eerie silence. Still catching his breath, Bell glanced down at the monstrous creature's remains. Among the ashes and debris, something gleamed faintly.

"There," As pointed out, her voice cutting through the quiet. "Something's shining."

Bell knelt, sifting through the remains with careful hands. His fingers brushed against something solid and cool to the touch. He lifted it to the light—a shard about the size of his palm, glowing with an otherworldly light.

"It's the second shard of the Eye," Riveria confirmed, her eyes wide with relief. "We've found it."

Bell stood up, holding the shard aloft for everyone to see. The tension in the room eased slightly as they realized their progress.

"We've collected two so far," Finn said, inspecting the shard. "Two more to go."

Bell nodded, carefully placing the shard into a small pouch attached to his belt. "We're halfway there," he said, determination hardening his features.

Tiona clapped Bell on the shoulder, a broad grin on her face. "Great job, Bell! We're getting closer."

"Let's not get too comfortable," Asfi warned, her eyes scanning their surroundings. "We still have a long way to go, and Medusa won't make it easy for us."

Riveria placed a reassuring hand on Bell's arm. "You did well," she said softly. "But we must remain vigilant."

Bell nodded again, his resolve unshaken. He glanced around at his companions—Ais, Tiona, Tione, Lefiya, Asfi—each showing signs of weariness but also unwavering determination.

"Let's keep moving," Finn urged. "We need to find those other shards before Medusa realizes what we're up to."

The group gathered their belongings and prepared to move deeper into the dungeon. Despite their exhaustion and injuries, they had a renewed sense of purpose.

With Bell leading the way once more, they ventured forward into the unknown darkness of the dungeon. Each step brought them closer to their ultimate goal—to assemble the Eye and end Medusa's reign of terror.

For now, they had secured another piece of their puzzle and were one step closer to victory.

And so they continued their journey through the treacherous depths of the dungeon, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead in their quest for justice and peace.

The ground beneath their feet trembled violently. Dust and debris rained from the ceiling as cracks snaked across the stone walls. Bell's eyes widened in alarm.

"The fortress is collapsing!" he shouted. "We need to get out of here, now!"

Ais grabbed Bell's arm, pulling him towards the exit. "This way! Hurry!"

The group scrambled to their feet, adrenaline fueling their movements as they sprinted toward where Hestia, Loki, Amid, and Gareth were.

"Gareth! You have to wake up! We need to get out of here!" Loki cried, shaking the injured dwarf's shoulders roughly.

His eyes fluttered open, his face pale and covered in sweat. "What's happening?" he murmured, his voice barely audible.

"The fortress is collapsing!" Bell shouted over the growing noise. "We need to get out of here right now!"

Amid nodded, grabbing one of Gareth's arms while Hestia took the other. "Come on!" she urged, her voice strained with effort. "We have to move!"

The group stumbled forward, their movements unsteady as they dodged falling debris and crumbling stones.

"Keep moving!" Finn urged, his voice barely audible over the cacophony of destruction. "Don't stop for anything!"

Riveria's magic shield flickered as she deflected a falling boulder, her face pale with fear but resolute. "I'm right behind you!"

Asfi, her eyes sharp with focus, led the way with Riveria at her side. "Follow me! There's a clear path ahead!"

Tiona and Tione flanked the group, their weapons ready to fend off any remaining threats that might emerge from the collapsing fortress. The air was thick with dust, making it difficult to see and breathe.

Bell's heart pounded in his chest as he dodged another falling stone. He glanced back to ensure everyone was keeping up. Riveria stumbled slightly but quickly regained her balance, determination etched on her face.

"Almost there!" Asfi called out, pointing to a distant archway that marked the exit. "Just a little further!"

The ground heaved once more, throwing Bell off balance. Ais caught him before he could fall, pulling him upright with a determined look in her eyes. "We're not leaving anyone behind," she said firmly.

They pushed forward, their collective strength and resolve driving them towards safety. The archway loomed closer with each step, a beacon of hope amidst the chaos.

Finally, they burst through the archway and into an open corridor. The collapse continued behind them, but they had left the immediate danger zone.

"Keep going!" Finn ordered. "We must put as much distance between us and that chamber as possible!"

They stopped once they reached a wider, more stable dungeon section. Only then did they allow themselves to catch their breath and take stock of their situation.

"We made it," Bell panted, relief washing over him as he looked around at his companions. They were all accounted for and mostly unscathed.

Riveria nodded her expression a mixture of exhaustion and gratitude. "Yes, we did."

For now, they were safe. But the journey was far from over.
