Harper lay sprawled on her bed, her phone tilted above her face as she let the latest MSA video play. The bright cartoon voices filled the quiet of her dorm room, but her eyes weren't really focused. She just needed the noise, something to drown out her thoughts.
She let out a small laugh at one of the narrator's dramatic lines, but the sound quickly faded. Then, just as the video shifted, the animated narrator leaned in, and the male lead kissed the girl on screen. Harper froze. Her thumb hovered over the screen, and she paused the video without thinking.
