Wyndham Estate
Vivianne blinked up at the familiar ceiling of the Wyndham estate, the carvings of the Wyndham's art reminding her exactly where she was. It's the same room she had been moved to after the first one was destroyed during the Black Covenant's ambush, a night she'd been too distracted to notice danger creeping near.
She exhaled, burying her face briefly in the pillow, heat creeping up her neck as the memory returned: Roxanne's hands, her strength, and the way Vivianne's mind had gone utterly blank beneath her mate's weight. No spirit's whisper could reach her that night; she had been completely lost in Roxanne.
When she finally looked up, three figures hovered lazily above her, familiar, luminous, and distinctly unimpressed. "Don't stare at me like that," Vivianne muttered, rubbing her temple. "I learned my lesson."
"Then keep your ears open this time." Undine crossed her arms, water swirling around her like ribbons.
