Chapter 104 - Chapter 104 - An Empty Nest to Fill

The house smelled like cedar and fresh straw. Old wood and older money, if that made any sense, polished beams catching slivers of sunlight that cut through the paper shoji.

Big enough for a samurai's pride and a concubine's drama. Bigger than I had any right to call mine. I wasn't fooling myself; this was the kind of place made for a clan, not an orphan like yours truly dragging his pregnant nerd into it by the hand.

We moved through room after room, each one spacious and well-crafted. The kitchen had modern conveniences alongside traditional elements, with a proper stove and plenty of counter space. There were multiple bedrooms, each with its own sliding doors and windows facing different directions. A formal dining area opened onto a covered walkway that wrapped around an interior courtyard.

The yard out back was big enough to turn into a proper training ground. I had noted the property where open space stretched toward a small grove of trees. Opens right up to those woods too.

It was big—the size of a medium samurai's estate in the capital. Big enough for a large family, though for now there was just Shiho and me. We were expecting our first child, and in about a week, Tsunami and Inari would be joining us as well.

I'd also set aside a space for Anko. Of course, I had.

Anko had always been my family, my first real companion in this world. But knowing her, she'd probably need thorough convincing to settle into domestic life—the kind of convincing that involved fucking her senseless until she agreed.

She wasn't the jealous type, but she was antisocial and wild. Settling down wasn't exactly her style.

I hoped living with Shiho as a soon-to-be mom, and Tsunami as an experienced mother, might help ease her rejection of becoming a mom herself. With patience, I'd keep my promise and put a child in her belly, too.

Even with all of them, there would still be plenty of empty rooms. Yeah, I was thinking ahead—planning for the future when I bred other girls and made them mine, expanding my unconventional family.

I do know myself, yes, my dick too.

While living space was no longer an issue, money was starting to become one. This house had cost a fortune. Even with the bad "neighborhood" reputation, it had only dropped the price to a small fortune. After all, this was something a samurai would own in the capital, to house their servants and guards.

It was worth it, though. And I had to thank Danzo for his hard work for the discount.

It was clear the old bastard had less control now than when Hiruzen was Hokage. This mansion was proof of that. The old schemer never would have been happy with the Uchiha living this well, but Danzo had to be more subtle with Minato in charge. He'd used some excuse about foreign diplomats needing housing to justify building this compound, or so the raccoons reported, then sabotaged the project to keep it empty.

But regardless, most of my savings had disappeared into this place.

What remained would keep all five of us comfortable for over six months, longer if we were careful with expenses.

The good news was I'd completely figured out the civilian-grade sealing scroll I'd been developing. Just needed to turn the prototype into a production model and figure out where the hell to start selling them.

The former was easy—give me an afternoon and I'd have a batch ready. The latter, however...

"Eishin! Eishin!" Shiho came rushing back, practically bouncing with excitement. "The built-in shelves have these amazing little compartments, and—and there are alcoves in the study that would be perfect for organizing my cipher drafts by complexity level, and oh! The lighting in the back room would be ideal for detailed work, and I could set up a whole cataloguing system for my scrolls and notes, maybe even cross-reference them by subject matter and—"

I was sitting on the engawa facing the courtyard, behind me, the room that had apparently been designed as a tea room. Go figure—rich people had rooms dedicated just to drinking tea.

I'd been touring the place with her initially, but whether it was because I'd just gotten out of the hospital and my injuries were still tender, or maybe I was just getting old, I couldn't keep up with my overly excited nerd girl. After the third tour and watching her bounce from room to room, the dizziness had returned, and I'd settled here.

It was a nice and peaceful spot. Makes me want a cup of tea.

I tapped the wooden deck beside me. "Come sit with me before you'll wear holes in the floor," I said, then smiled at her enthusiasm. "I take it you like the place?"

She popped out of the doorway like a startled sparrow, glasses slipping down her nose. Then, obedient as always, she folded her legs under and sat beside me, tugging her dress down nervously. Of course, sitting didn't mean shutting up.

"I—I was worried at first because it's so big and expensive-looking, but there's so much storage space, and the natural light is perfect for reading, and the rooms flow together so nicely, and—oh!—that little nook by the kitchen would be perfect for tea preparation...It's—um, yeah, it's wonderful."

Did she read my mind? Scary nerd.

But seeing her smile like that, I couldn't help but smile too. Yeah, it was worth every coin.

Shiho, much like myself, was an orphan. No clan, no inheritance. Never really belonging anywhere in this cruel world. She must want a real family just as much as I did. It explained why she'd been so determined to keep our baby even when she thought I might not want it.

Even knowing our family wouldn't be conventional, that I was a bastard who'd never be faithful to her alone, she still wanted my child. Still wanted to build something real with me.

The thought filled me with a complex mix of emotions, guilt for what I was, gratitude for her acceptance. Made me feel like I'd stolen something holy. And yet, I wanted it too. Wanted her and the child. Wanted all of it.

Aah, there is no redemption for selfish scums like myself.

Her voice cut into my guilt. "What about you?" she asked, leaning closer, eyes huge behind the glass. "What do you like about it?"

I bent forward and kissed her nose, making her squeak back in surprise, scrunching her face adorably. Her blush spread like spilled ink, but she kept staring, waiting.

So I pointed at the courtyard, where a small stone water basin sat with a bamboo fountain device beside it.

"Bamboo fountain?" she asked.

"The shishi-odoshi," I corrected her. "Went on a mission three years ago. Had to maintain surveillance on a target in the Land of Rivers for two days straight—guy had one of these in his garden. That rhythmic knocking sound... Knock, knock, knock, all day. It made staying hidden and motionless for hours somehow bearable. There's something calming about the steady rhythm. Decided then I wanted one."

Shiho followed my gaze, listening intently—she always loved my mission stories. Then she tilted her head. "But—it's not moving. It's… broken?"

"Mm." I nodded. "Water flow's probably blocked somewhere. I'll fix it."

"Do you know how?"

I shrugged. "I'll figure it out."

That's the man of the house's job to do stuff like that, isn't it?

Her glasses caught the sun as she turned back to me, excitement blooming again. "Yosh!" She clapped her hands together, sudden determination firing up. "I'll—I'll do a quick research, and then we'll fix it together!" She was already half rising.

I raised an eyebrow and caught her arm. "Not so fast." I pulled her back down, a bit too firmly.

She yelped as she toppled, her narrow waist twisting before her upper body landed across my lap, her hair brushing my arm. She blinked up at me, glasses slightly askew, mouth parting.

"Um... did I get too excited again?"

"You did."

"U-um… this… this isn't proper sitting…" she whispered, voice small. Her hands curled against her chest, hesitant and still, waiting for instruction.

Head pillowed against my thigh, hair tickling through my fingers. I couldn't resist—I set one hand on her head, petting her like she was the world's shiest kitten, and the other on her stomach, flat for now. My palm drifted in lazy circles, warm against her belly.

Shiho made this tiny, broken noise, halfway between a sigh and a squeak, eyes darting to where my fingers pressed against her.

"B-because we're... I mean, this position is... um..." Her words crumbled in her throat, syllables collapsing under the weight of her nerves. Her voice made less sense with every stroke of my thumb.

I hummed, already tugging at the knot of her sash, loosening the navy fabric cinched too tight around her waist. Her words faltered, slowed, stuttered into nothing.

"Where are we, Shiho?" I asked.

Still focused on my hand at her belly and the loosening sash, she looked back up with confusion clouding her features behind those oversized glasses.

"I... we're... somewhere private?" she managed, voice small and uncertain.

"Yes," I liked the direction, but that wasn't quite the answer I was looking for. "More specifically."

"In your—" she began, then caught herself, cheeks flushing. "In our new house."

I nodded and petted her hair more affectionately across her scalp, earning a soft little sigh of contentment. Glasses sliding down her nose, lashes fluttering like she was about to pass out.

"And why's that?" I murmured. "Why is it ours when I'm the one who paid for it? The one who owns it? Why not just mine?"

That might sound like a jerk question to some people, but Shiho was smart. She knew me well. Knew I was selfish, but not that kind of selfish.

She dropped her gaze meekly. "Because... because I'm yours," she breathed out.

A wide smile spread across my face as I leaned down to capture her lips in a deep, wet kiss. She made a surprised little noise that melted into a soft moan, her body going completely pliant beneath me. She always melted quickly, my nerd. Always tasted like nerves and need.

When I pulled back, her lips were slightly swollen and her glasses askew.

"Exactly. You're mine, hence you are part of me — our house. We're in our house." I lifted her chin to meet my eyes. "So tell me, why would it be inappropriate, hm?"

Her breathing quickened. She swallowed hard, then whispered, "I... I misspoke earlier."

"Oh, is that so?" I traced my thumb along her lower lip. "What should you have said instead?"

"I meant to say that—that this is—I mean, you can—you are always—I'm here—you can—" Her mouth opened, stammered, closed. Opened again. Her tongue tripped on itself, words falling apart. Then she went quiet, lips pressing together, trembling.

She surprised me by acting instead.

The nerdy girl pulled her knees together, then slowly reached down to her ankle where the hem of her maroon dress rested. And then she started... raising it up. Inch by torturous inch.

First, pale skin was revealed—her delicate ankles, then her slender calves with their subtle curves. Her knees came into view, pressed together in that sweet, modest way that only made what she was doing more erotic. Higher still, exposing the soft flesh of her thighs, creamy and unmarked. My breath hitched as the hem crept past mid-thigh, then finally, red panties came into view, stretched taut across her hips, the fabric a stark contrast against her pale skin.

She stopped only when she'd bared everything below her waist, holding the fabric bunched at her hips with trembling fingers.

By that point, I was already rock hard and lost control over my breathing.

Fuck. She was modest to her core, but now—spread in my lap, belly under my palm, panties on display like some desperate gift—my little nerd was so fucking obscene.

Pregnancy, it seemed, had sharpened her submissive streak into something dangerous. She held her skirt high, eyes wide and wet, cheeks burning, and finally found words.

"I-I mis… spoke earlier," she whispered, voice breaking. "I'm yours. Y-your woman. Y-your… thing. You can… do what you want… whenever you want… this... this isn't inappropriate at all. It's your right. You are free to do with me as you please, anywhere you please..." Her tone quivered between shame and pride, needy and quirky all at once, every word soaking into me like poison. "Just like this house, I belong to you."

What the fuck was that? This girl was becoming dangerous—I nearly busted right then and there.

I sucked in a deep breath, tried to steady myself, and glanced around.

"This house," I said, exhaling slowly. "Built years ago. Never lived in. Never laughed in. Never cried in. And definitely never fucked in." My grin turned sharp, devilish, as I looked down at her.

The good girl she was, Shiho smiled back sweetly.

"Should we fix that first?"

"Yes, please, Eishin," she breathed, voice carrying that perfect mix of submission and eager anticipation that drove me wild. "I want... I want to be yours everywhere in our home."

One room, one woman, one child at a time, I would make this estate worthy of its name.
